The Wednesday Wellness threads are meant to encourage users to ask for and provide advice and motivation to improve their lives. It isn't intended as a 'containment thread' and any content which could go here could instead be posted in its own thread. You could post:

Advice. This can be in response to a request for advice or just something that you think could be generally useful for many people here.

Encouragement. Probably best directed at specific users, but if you feel like just encouraging people in general I don't think anyone is going to object. I don't think I really need to say this, but just to be clear; encouragement should have a generally positive tone and not shame people (if people feel that shame might be an effective tool for motivating people, please discuss this so we can form a group consensus on how to use it rather than just trying it).

Facing down the possibility of a layoff or a forced relocation. Nothing has been announced yet (to our business unit at least; leadership of the other business unit we share an office building with has already been informed that they'll be moving to a different office down the street), but there are lots of rumors flowing. What has us worried is that they are doubling the size of our sister site that we provide redundancy to without telling my site about that change or providing any justification. There's been a complete lack of info coming down from the top other than "nothing is happening, everything is fine, proceed BAU". We found out about the sister site change through lower level employees of that site, not leadership. The place they'd ask me to relocate to if things go that route is several states away, and while I just so happen to have family there, I'm really not making enough at this job to justify moving.
Can't wait to spend 6 months unemployed again like I did before I got this job 🫠I'll probably be very active on here again at least haha
