This weekly roundup thread is intended for all culture war posts. 'Culture war' is vaguely defined, but it basically means controversial issues that fall along set tribal lines. Arguments over culture war issues generate a lot of heat and little light, and few deeply entrenched people ever change their minds. This thread is for voicing opinions and analyzing the state of the discussion while trying to optimize for light over heat.
Optimistically, we think that engaging with people you disagree with is worth your time, and so is being nice! Pessimistically, there are many dynamics that can lead discussions on Culture War topics to become unproductive. There's a human tendency to divide along tribal lines, praising your ingroup and vilifying your outgroup - and if you think you find it easy to criticize your ingroup, then it may be that your outgroup is not who you think it is. Extremists with opposing positions can feed off each other, highlighting each other's worst points to justify their own angry rhetoric, which becomes in turn a new example of bad behavior for the other side to highlight.
We would like to avoid these negative dynamics. Accordingly, we ask that you do not use this thread for waging the Culture War. Examples of waging the Culture War:

Making sweeping generalizations to vilify a group you dislike.

Posting links that could be summarized as 'Boo outgroup!' Basically, if your content is 'Can you believe what Those People did this week?' then you should either refrain from posting, or do some very patient work to contextualize and/or steel-man the relevant viewpoint.
In general, you should argue to understand, not to win. This thread is not territory to be claimed by one group or another; indeed, the aim is to have many different viewpoints represented here. Thus, we also ask that you follow some guidelines:

Speak plainly. Avoid sarcasm and mockery. When disagreeing with someone, state your objections explicitly.

Be as precise and charitable as you can. Don't paraphrase unflatteringly.

Don't imply that someone said something they did not say, even if you think it follows from what they said.

I see most of the modern west as currupt and morally bankrupt as most of it really has no reason to exist other than nothing has replaced it yet. European civilization doesn’t serve much of a purpose, it doesn’t see itself as anything worth protecting or with any missions worth accomplishing. It’s just a political system that exists to manage whoever happens to be there while not protecting its natives from harm. If Europeans still believed in their own civilization or values, or saw themselves as something worth protecting, there’d be hope for the EU. Americans still see themselves as a people and a civilization worth working for. They have residual Christian faith (most are at least nominal) and residual belief in their system even if the government they live under barely resembles the government the Constitution describes or the founders intended.
NATO doesn’t really have even a pretend reason to exist. It’s supposed to protect Europe from Soviet communism. But given how much of European society has embraced most of the tenets of socialism, they wouldn’t have much to fear from communists. And the Soviets haven’t existed since the early 1990s. It’s basically an institution that has no real reason to continue, and other than the US, no serious military to speak of. Nobody is afraid of European military intervention, German tanks or British aircraft are not the enemy that would make anyone tremble. Only the USA has a military worthy of the name. Increasingly, however, we are afraid to use it, especially afraid of putting boots on the ground to occupy territory and destroy the enemy.
If other countries were willing to pay for the cost of US land deployments, I would be all for using the military more. I am afraid of paying for boots on the ground and the US not getting a direct material benefit from it. See Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam. WW2 went pretty well though, and Korea was probably worth the cost.

Modern Europe was created by America for what it's worth. And I personally think the US is going the way of Brazil-style lusotropicalism while Europe is just in terminal demographic decline. White America's views and TFR are also not that far of Europe.
While certainly the TFR is nothing to brag about, the U.S. white fertility rate has held steady while other races have fallen steeply. Black fertility has fallen definitively below white fertility, and Hispanic will soon. As usual, Asians are reticent breeders. (Note: this is based on race of the mother. Asian male fertility is apocalyptic).
I saw something like this on Twitter but couldn't find it. Sol 6.1 was able to recreate from the Wonder Database on light effort. Incredible. So, take with grain of salt but it matches what I remember from twitter.
Combine this with a large drop in the foreign born population and the US is likely now growing whiter for the first time in probably at least 100 years. The absolute number matters a lot less than the relative number. The cake can get smaller, but you can't replace sugar with salt.
Elsewhere of note, the Hispanic world is now entering the accelerated phase of the demographic transition. Here's some fertility rates that might surprise you. I wonder what's going on?
Do you have any more information on the non-hispanic white TFR increase? Is the TFR increase driven by recent white immigrants to the US, like Afrikaners whites for example? European white immigrants? Hasidic Jews? Amish? Or is this a resurgence of white TFR driven by a return to traditional gender roles by white zoomers?
