The Wednesday Wellness threads are meant to encourage users to ask for and provide advice and motivation to improve their lives. It isn't intended as a 'containment thread' and any content which could go here could instead be posted in its own thread. You could post:
-
Requests for advice and / or encouragement. On basically any topic and for any scale of problem.
-
Updates to let us know how you are doing. This provides valuable feedback on past advice / encouragement and will hopefully make people feel a little more motivated to follow through. If you want to be reminded to post your update, see the post titled 'update reminders', below.
-
Advice. This can be in response to a request for advice or just something that you think could be generally useful for many people here.
-
Encouragement. Probably best directed at specific users, but if you feel like just encouraging people in general I don't think anyone is going to object. I don't think I really need to say this, but just to be clear; encouragement should have a generally positive tone and not shame people (if people feel that shame might be an effective tool for motivating people, please discuss this so we can form a group consensus on how to use it rather than just trying it).

Notes -
As I said, having a 'caloric budget' is a calorie-controlled weight loss strategy, which doesn't actually work for almost everyone who tries it (see decades of studies). It's fine to describe weight loss or gain in calories, but budgeting them like money in a bank account fails when actual humans try it.
EDIT: This conversation might be more fruitful if you said what you actually believe re diet and weight loss/gain.
yeah he's trolling. report him
For what? What rule? Be serious.

I feel I should note that there's basically never a reason (for a non-mod) to tell other people to report something. You have a "report" button of your own; you could do it yourself.
(I've also been told that the mods tend to take reports more seriously when made by a third party rather than the interlocutor.)

None of that is pointing to a place where I did the particular thing that you claimed was "the problem". That's two words and your own commentary. Two words is not enough to establish conflation of multiple things.
Please show me where I did as described by:
At least a complete sentence would be preferred.
I've already done so, twice. If you believe I'm mistaken, please say what you do believe. This cross-examination game doesn't make for a fruitful conversation.
I don't think you have. You haven't even given me a complete sentence.
I wrote an entire long comment on what I believe.
Allow me to add some additional things I believe.
I believe that people shouldn't conflate describing a problem and fixing it. I also believe that people shouldn't falsely accuse others of doing so. I also believe that if you want me to take you seriously, you need to at least do a "Yes, but" instead of a "But".
Moreover, I believe that your entire initial comment was premised on this false accusation. If this accusation was false and irrelevant, then I believe that your entire original comment was irrelevant. I don't believe there's anything in it for me to respond to unless your accusation is true. Thus, an emphasis on determining its truth value. I believe I need more than two words to support your accusation. A complete sentence would be preferred. Alternatively, if you'd like to admit that your accusation was false, then I would be happy for you to have a redo on your original comment. I'd like to hear some of your thoughts that are responsive to my thoughts. I don't particularly like hearing your thoughts that are only oriented toward a strawman.
You're obviously not engaging in good faith so I'm gonna bow out of this.
Yeah, I'mma need you to actually give a reason why you think I'm not engaging in good faith. Otherwise, this is pretty much just another bald accusation.
I just gave you a thorough explanation of what I believe, as you asked for. What have you given me in response? Where is your good faith?
