Cause otherwise midterms discussion will be scattered around a bunch of separate Culture War thread posts. And it's nice to have more off-the-cuff rapid reactions in a dedicated megathread.
The first thing I've noticed so far: if the exit polls are correct, Americans are very pessimistic about AI.

Notes -
I guess all the "voters are stupid for caring about gas prices or a wrecked economy, destroying Iran is for our eternal glory!" talk does not actually win elections for Republicans.
Hopefully Republicans overcome their Israel fetish.
"Gas prices are high, guess I'll vote for trans kids and DEI" turned out to be true.
Despite otherwise swinging very blue by double digits, Colorado and Washington passed propositions against trans girls participating in school sports, and Colorado additionally to ban gender surgeries for minors. Not sure which way to say the wind is blowing on those.
made me slightly more optimistic about direct democracy initiatives, which feels like a dangerous mood. excellent way for the representatives to avoid having to take an actual stand, kind of like with making abortion a state ballot issue too.
i'm sure Colorado's state government will find a way to mess it up and commit a bunch of bigotry in the process.
