Midterms Megathread

Cause otherwise midterms discussion will be scattered around a bunch of separate Culture War thread posts. And it's nice to have more off-the-cuff rapid reactions in a dedicated megathread.

The first thing I've noticed so far: if the exit polls are correct, Americans are very pessimistic about AI.

To point B, im just not sure you can apply national averages to every state. The midwest generally had smaller shifts than southern states. States with large black and hispanic populations swung far more on average. That is why Angie Nixon who is actual DSA overperformed Flanagan for example. There is also the case that not every battleground was fought equally hard by GOP. They basically abandonded their senate candidates in North Caroline and Georgia very early in the race.

More than anything election seems to confirm that if dems focus on ethnic minorities, and manage to turn them out at higher rates, they can win a permanent majority.

Im not sure that is a conclusion this sub particularily likes. For all the focus on El-Sayed, he actually won over a larger portion of white voters in his state then both Talarico and Ossoff. That will also matter for how he will govern.
