Last week on twitter I went to a website with a huge list of scientific studies that had failed to replicate or had mixed results. Annoyingly, googling "list of studies that failed to replicate" mostly gives me news articles with "5, 10 or 15 studies that failed to replicate!" Did anyone else see this and know what I'm talking about? I just want to bookmark it for future use.

but feminists have historically rejected those. I think both views are defensible, but you can't have it both ways: if a woman who wears jeans and doesn't shave her legs isn't any less of a woman, why would a man who wears a skirt and shaves his legs become less of a man
The word "but" confused me here. The feminist perspective is that he isn't a woman no matter how many skirts and shaves. I think Dylan had a crisis last week and decided to be a "they" but I'm on a twitter fast so I can't confirm.

The difference between male and female athleticism is not minor competitive advantage. Most top high school male times beat most female olympian across almost all sports. I'll find the website if someone is interested.

I find the idea of women's sports chuckle-worthy, about the same tier of interest as the Little Leagues. Aww, you poor things, incapable of standing up in absolute terms, let's make a nice carveout for you so that you can say you tried.

t just has to be plausibly deniable so that the girl can tell herself (and her friends, and her family, and her boyfriend/husband...) that she really didn't mean to sleep with the guy, but it "just happened". It's a way to get past her anti-slut defense.
It's not an anti-slut defense. It's a reasonable out "if I change my mind once we are alone" defense. Even with people I know well and have had sex with before (exes) I don't like the pressure of inviting someone over for sex explicitly. Because sometimes you change your mind, and you feel pressured by your earlier offer/commitment. Much less with a stranger. (I've never found myself in this situation with a stranger).

Depends on why you are doing it. If it is for reference and retention, you'd probably be best off taking a picture and then writing your own summary and thoughts than just typing it all out.

I've definitely discovered books nominated for the goodreads choice awards where they had more votes than they had actual goodreads readers (just the kinds of signaling books you would expect). So they are being pushed externally somehow, whether that is by publishers or authors or social media, I don't know.
I also find those awards problematic because Amazon pushes them the same year they are published, but many popular fiction titles that aren't by a major author take 2-3 years to peak, by which time they no longer show up on that list.
Total ratings is a good gauge of actual popularity of books though.

I agree with this and your other statements in the thread.
And I also want to note that Eichner (known as that guy with the obnoxious voice from Parks and Rec?) is not bringing the level of charisma that a typical romantic lead of either gender has to have for a typical rom-com. There is no movie he could star in that would do well. I think there could possibly be a gay rom-com that women would be willing to see, but it would have to be a traditional rom-com script (not preachy, not sexual) and cute, charismatic actors that we already like.

Are not divided by sex of the human participant. There are medal winners of both sexes across equestrian sports. Some are divided by the sex of the horse (although horses have less sexual dimorphism than humans, it is some).

Well but you improve for them so that you can be a better partner in some way -- more supportive emotionally, or provide them with stuff that would improve their life.
A chatbot has no legitimate need for either. The "love" relationship is already everything, and nothing, for the bot.

I disagree. I think by making this their hill to die on and then no one caring they have lost influence on future commercial endeavors the trans movement would disapprove of. Future producers will be a lot less easily frightened by activist underlings when they cannot point to this having tanked the biggest game of the year.

Yes, but I feel like the male hosts are just annoying the contestants out of boredom these days. Mel and Sue were so warm and encouraging and Noel is weird and Matt Lucas is obnoxious. I had the realization last week that after six years of devotion I really don't care to watch week to week this year.

This comment made me think some about how I specifically see the civilizations/countries of the world.
I probably would say 1st world (anglosphere, rich europe), 2nd world (poor europe), developing, won't develop.
For many contexts thinking of the islamic countries as a group also occurs. I'd say to me China counts as the most important developing country (although with their current problems that economic position could easily backslide for the rest of my life) and india somewhere in the middle of the developing countries. Not a "can't develop" like most of SSA but not of special note. Something like indonesia.

The risk of high protein is that you are eating enough protein to convert it to sugar, screwing over your ketosis. I'd suggest using ketostix to track whether your ketones are behaving correctly on the high protein before you try it.
Personally I capped my protein around 66g a day for that reason, but people vary.
High protein just... isn't keto. Better to call it low carb.

I prefer genderspecial. Probably because I've lost all patience with being expected to play along with the games of random people I don't know or barely know but who demand I agree to pretend I believe their version of reality on pain of social ostracism.
