Something in logistics or project management, perhaps. You could probably move into business/technical management shortly after that, if it interests you. There's a ton of project management for health-related things from my recent searching, but there's an awful lot of "general PM stuff" out there, and it usually pays reasonably well.

As far as applications/interviews go, a network really does help, in my experience. It's stupid, and I hate that it matters, but... strongly consider reaching out to people you know and seeing if they have any leads.

That said, we've detonated nuclear bombs over the oceans in testing before so it's probably not an existential problem

There's also two US nuclear subs (Scorpion and Thresher) at the bottom of the sea, with no contamination.

We... dont talk about the Russian subs down there.

I wouldn't necessarily say that it's a vanity project. The mobility is huge. Being able to float it to where it's needed and not have to ship in fossil fuels?

"Built in a shipyard and transported to the site: reduced construction cost and time"

"Quick and cost-effective decommissioning in a centralized shipyard"

That has to be someone who has never in their career dealt with a US shipyard. I mean, an argument could be made that the US would have to develop a better industrial base and new shipyards for this, as an added perk, which I am 100% on board with (I unironically stan NS Savannah), but as-is? Yeah, those two statements aren't happening.

Is there a good starter guide for AI image generation in terms of how to use tags, and which? For example, if im trying to get an image of a nuthatch wearing a navy captain's hat, using Stable Diffusion (niche, I know, but I figured a niche example would be best). I seem to really be struggling in how to set up my tags.

Duck test?

Is there a good (legal) way to listen to World Cup games over the internet? Like, internet radio or something?

Separately and of less interest to me, I'm also assuming there's no way to watch (rather than listen) that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

Do you have any good reads on this?

All this makes sense given that aircraft carriers are now more or less sitting ducks in the SCS given China's massive and rapidly growing missile inventory, many who can hit moving targets and that's even excluding hitting stationary ones such as airbases on islands,

You're operating under the premise that only China has long-range weapons and the will to use them. Possibly true for the latter part, but if you're China, do you take the bet that your A2/AD is sufficient to prevent the US from interfering with your (incredibly vulnerable) amphibious operation, or do you take the first strike and hope that whole "awakening a sleeping giant" thing was a one-off that only works against Japan?

Regarding board games: I'm still fairly new to a lot of the more interesting ones. Is there a good guide/rule of thumb for identifying "This is X type of game" and therefore "Y is a good basic mindset to use when learning the rules and playing well?"

Popehat hasn't been the same for a while, sadly, at least to my mind.

I mean, my employer will occasionally list a GPA requirement/preference for senior-level openings, but i assume thats either HR's doing, or the hiring manager not really thinking things through.

world-building are top-tier.

Her world-building is in an interesting place to me. It's evocative, creative, interesting... but then falls apart the deeper you delve into it. I think she makes an understandable mistake of trying to go into more detail later (its what everyone wants to know!), and it just doesnt seem to work.

Kind of like Narnia, I suppose, except that C.S. Lewis doesn't feel the need to try to explain where Mr. Tumnus was doing his shopping, for the better.

Burger King's are just straight vessels for salt, I've found. Which, as I like salt, isn't a bad thing.

I've never understood the Five Guys excitement, and I have to say, I found them not greasy enough for my tastes. The rest of your list I agree with, barring Culver's, which I've never tried.

You also didn't include Arby's curly fries, which I'd put near the top if not at it.

Would you consider it different than the art generators? In some circles, those have been receiving quite a lot of hate recently.

Weirdly, wouldnt that also be (devout Catholic) Tolkien?

The Veterans advocacy group at my company was once told that they didn't have enough diversity on their executive board. Their response was something to the effect of "What are you talking about? We've got both kinds of people, veterans and civilians."

Does anyone have any experience with bird feeder cameras? I was considering a Birdsy, but the reviews arent great, and there doesnt seem to be that much else on the market that's looks legit.

I recall reading somewhere that regardless of size, every drug (or just insulin?) company has to contribute the same flat amount of cash to the FDA, which gives a huge competitive disadvantage to new/small companies.

I had friends who got into the VIP section of the Country Music Awards by just flashing their college badges as though they were passes.

Given all the various craft beer gimmicks out there, you'd think someone would make it (although you can't tout the health benefits anymore - "A Guinness for health" would have to have a footnote that there are no health claims proved by the FDA). I know Dogfish Head had their "Ancient Ales" series, where they tried to reconstruct some beers, but I've heard nothing about the health equivalent.

Hah, I should have thought of those. I'm now reminded (although it's not a Trappist style) of the fellow who tested the myth that monks sustained themselves entirely on Doppelbocks (and no food) during Lent. Apparently he wound up in good health after 40 days.

Based on my limited googling and eyesight, best I can tell there are zero similarities between the goblin horn in the game and a shofar. Am I tripping? Is there any way in which that horn is a shofar that wouldnt also apply to the Horn of Gondor? I am genuinely curious, since to me it looks like "generic fantasy horn", which I understand a shofar very much *isn't *, but I've been seeing it repeated from people who I'd usually trust to know this sort of thing. Or maybe they haven't seen the one in game, and are just repeating the party line.

entirely possible the art department for the game used reference photos of shofars as the basis for the drawing of the goblin horn

The thing is, as far as I can tell, it doesn't even resemble a shofar. I have difficulty processing how you could look at that image and think it looks like a shofar, even if youre trying to find the slightest hint of a dogwhistle. It's like if you said that the main character in RDR2 rides a sidesaddle. But thats what i struggle with. I know that a lot of people spread rumours without verifying, but what about the people that have seen both the game horn and a shofar? Is it a gutsy assumption that nobody will call them on something even if it's blatantly apparent that it's false? Is it a deliberate attempt to call a deer a horse, or make people say there are five lights? Or do they honestly, truly, in their heart of hearts believe it? It seems impossible enough that I feel like I have to be missing something, and the two horns really do have more in common than saying that a Cessna is clearly the Red Baron's Fokker Dr.I.
