I've been over the doom porn esque feel of AI talk for years now it seems and it just keeps cranking higher & higher. We're basically on track with doom porn global warming catastrophe. It's just a race to the nonexistent finish line to see who can be doomier and gloomier on what subject.
Personally I'm ready to be told AI will cure blindness, and cancer, and give us 2 hour work days, and on and on.
I can't take any of these people even remotely seriously. AI will be fine. Our lives will be better. Just like having a fridge, or shoes. But just like food poisoning or dress shoes inspired plantar fasciitis - some shit will happen. Shut up and stop trying to retard the future (not to anyone here - just a general sort of want from me).

A couple quickies I'd like to add also:
He scored a 13 on the Wonderlic test (the test given all incoming QBs to the NFL from college) which is abhorrent and although he's clearly literate, it's hard to tell how literate. So he doesn't have an agent imo because he's a dumb guy. An agent that he would listen to would have set him straight last season - he's already lost millions by not signing last season and, like Bell and others, may never be close to recouping. But he is a QB - and he is great - and by all accounts he seems like a nice dude ... So you never know, which is what he's banking on. I just felt important to add the context of how not bright this guy actually is and why, imo, he doesn't have an agent.

As if Chinese, African, and South American subcultures are just ripe with mentally & physically healthy people.
Maybe your small part of the world is doing groovy, or has yet to succumb to the soda, pop & burger bombardment, but that's from a lack of access or (as it reads) you being in the tippy top of your people's (whichever that may be) class hierarchy.

We're taking OP at his word here and we have already found OP to be a complete flummox. From the women's perspective I'd bet it looks something like: this wierd guy from our study group who I barely ever talk to took me aside at the fucking library and asked if I would have sex with him casually while being friends.
If we just take a second and look at it from her angle, everything becomes much clearer.

20 years ago we couldn't imagine today even tho nothing has really changed ... Except literally the entirety of human interaction in the western world has shifted to a small device in your hand. It's why I'm shocked when some like Chuck Klosterman doesn't feel like much has changed in our culture in 20 years (not his exact point). It's that the way culture is produced, shared, and taken in has so completely changed that it feels like nothing has.
And when AIs are watching our children in two decades, it'll feel just like yesterday.

My first GF was black - we would've had kids had it not been for two entoptic pregnancies - her best friend was this small little gay dude we knew from HS who eventually got mega fucking ripped (and still super gay) - and they both had trauma from a shitty upbringing.
I am VERY (VERY!) sympathetic to being against woke shit - so much so that I mostly keep my thoughts private while touching grass - but there's a large difference between what you wrote being offensive and what you wrote making you offensive (not to me, perse). I haven't seen it yet but I was planning on seeing that and Maggie (the AI doll one?) tomorrow or just maybe Babylon (I enjoy famous people doing famous people things on screen) so I'll see how it goes when I do. There's also the point of course that in a vacuum this film might be fine, but of course, outside of itself it's the whole point that things that aren't normal are being normalized at potentially a psychotic degree.
The worst part here is if I do find the film boring ... there's absolutely nothing worse a film could be then boring.

The community wasn't calling black people great apes (that I'm aware of based on this discussion), they were calling black criminals that because black people in the US commit a vastly disproportionate amount of crime and the media doesn't cover it so people are covering it with crude humor.
I'd suggest you stop pretending people are tired of a race rather than a large minority of the race (criminals)

I've played probably 250 games of Axis & Allies over the years and 249 of them were with my buddy Jimmy. And the one that wasn't just him actually involved him as it was a Christmas present from someone's mom. Dude killed himself last year and I haven't played a game since and I'm really itching to play.
I don't think I even like board games, I think I just enjoy Axis & Allies. However, maybe I don't even like AA, maybe I just enjoyed hanging out with him?

Listen I've had a criterion channel subscription since it started but calling out black criminals by comparing them to apes will never not be funny for me, and most other completely normal (relative) people that I know. I get two bulbs for 21$ but I have a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. My first car was a Geo Metro with 9$ tires that Tire Kingdom wouldn't sell me unless I also got an oil change or something because it was so cheap. I like safetyism and features but some things seem to have wildly swung in cost.

When a woman is good at something it's as meaningless as a man being good at something. It just is.
The vast majority of women sports commentators are awkward and off-putting. It would be better to have two women doing it.
Sports commenting requires repertoire with your fellow commentator, two commentators, three if they are absolute jive together, which they never are, knowing when to STFU, knowing the sport, having a sense of humor, being the right amount of gruff, etc etc.
Tbf to women sports commentators, the vast majority of men sports commentators are absolutely awful. Even the NFL can not get it right and they only need something like 32 total any given week.
I've been watching sports for about 30 years and would guess 90% of sports commentators are awful and detract from the game.
With women, they're awful AND new, so it's even more jarring. I really think that's the issue. I'll take something awful that's been awful forever rather than trying something new that's equally offensive.
Isn't this the same shit John Edwards noy get indicted for?
