Things have been mostly decaying since the Apartheid gov't fell. Government is now saying it has "no duty" to ensure reliable power.

I think it may be deliberate. Not having a translator with an American or British accent makes it clear whose event this is - a Chinese event.
Personally I like the Chinese accent when it's not too hard to understand. Probably from too much exposure to Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, whose Chairman Yang while .. not really sympathetic is a very memorable character!, partly because of the odd accents and weird musical pronunciation. It wasn't probably wholly genuine- the voice actor lived in the US for quite some time, so I imagine he stopped having a strong accent..

From my point of view, no, not really.
I come from a place where our own racial underclass is not treated in a sacred manner and there's no equivalent of the gamer word. You might become a bit of a social pariah at a humanities faculty of a big university if you were filmed doing something like this, perhaps, but moms around the country would understand and forgive.
I don't think the taboo around the word is in any way reasonable and that such taboos should not be enforced or tolerated. I much prefer the situation here where before there's actual violence the parties in a dispute tend to use all the strongest expletives at the loudest possible volume. Keeping it 'fake' helps cut down on wasted police time and all that.

No, there's no $20 bill.
Big companies are woke and will mandate woke BS. People who climb the greasy pole in corporations are socially adept conformists with sociopath traits. Not the kind of people who care about truth or beauty or get disturbed by woke shenanigans. They read the room and act accordingly.
This will change as US business and political elites become anti-woke which they must. According to Thiel, in SV in '16 they thought he was crazy, by '20 people were telling him he was right. People got fired over activism since then. So the tide is turning.
MtF devs, rare as they are, or woke devs in any normal company would simply toe the line or be told to go elsewhere if they acted out.
But then, you're not missing anything because big companies make games for big market shares and big market share require games made for the average person, who are not that interesting.

Another anti-woke game is Kingdom Come, whose developer is notorious for talking back at liberals, unapologetically told people to get lost after they wanted blacks in medieval Bohemia and is even mildly politically active in Czech Republic having founded a small NGO called Society for the Defense of Freedom of Expression which has of course been accused of spreading 'disinformation' by the arbiters of truth working for the Ministry of Interior. (for Americans, that's the guys who run the national police, jails and so on )
It's a matter of funding and publishers culture moreso than the raw talent. Factorio was self-funded, Kingdom Come got funding for development from a local oligarch. Not sure how KC2 will be, there were rumors but the guy in charge is not the kind to let himself be overruled, so I expect no wokery even if publisher/funder is no longer local.
After all, there are roughly 2 billion people from high-average IQ populations like whites, east Asians where people with an IQ of 120 are likely to become devs. Only cca 500 million of these live in countries where woke is the official culture.
(If you're black with that IQ, you can get paid much, much more by being a businessman etc)

That US is led by midwits has been evident since 2001 at least. The war on terror was a grotesque miscalculation-the neocon dreams of seven countries in five years delusions, Iraq a fumble, the war was a strategic victory for Al-Qaeda because it led to a decrease in US power and influence, loss of trust in the USG. Then you had the Arab Spring, which succeeded only in ruining things and not increasing US power either. Let's not even speak of Afghanistan. Then we got to Ukraine. Chinese have made no secret they're not going to be color-revolutioned, yet Americans thought driving China and Russia closely together was just the thing.
Putin clearly wanted in, was cooperative post 9/11, asked to be considered for membership and seeing as NATO has at times contained wholly authoritarian regimes like Turkey's various juntas , Portugal (somehow a founding member) etc, there were no obvious reasons why not to admit them. This would've gone some way to containing China.
That China would become extremely powerful was obvious since early 1900, when they were found to be not intellectually deficient, just merely medieval.

Supposedly, there've been 4 'transgender' shooters in the last ten months.
Not really surprising - it's rarely mentally sound people who go for that kind of thing. I remember reading about the Crimo case - guy was a nut, and possibly the entire 'trans' angle was him using make-up / female clothing to make ID-ing him harder. Facial tattoos and all that.

Amazingly I found some actually quality TV. And from my native land! I thought this would never happen. In 2019, HBO produced a Czech TV series. Labelled as fiction, but ..more thoughtful Czechoslovaks would have many a word to say there.
It's called 'The Sleepers' (2019).
Sort of a spy drama, though spies (or sleeper agents) are not the main characters. Almost no James Bond nonsense(implausible feats) except a very little in the middle. You do get to see state-security plainclothes agents casually bullying a lot of people while investigating, British diplomats being unhelpful and so on. A bit like 'True Detective' but about 1980s Czechoslovak dissidents, state security and politics. You have to pay attention because details matter-you'll be bewildered if you're treating it as background. The Czech title 'Unconsciously' is more fitting.
Acting is great - they got 75% of good local actors, the sets are almost perfect - if you want to show some US planned economy enjoyers how eastern bloc looked in 1980s, this is perfect. The screenplay is pretty good. There are a few hiccups, one implausible coincidence and one piece of laughable nonsense, but for TV or cinema it's really, really good. There's even a personal connection: one of the major characters is played by a grand-daughter of 1968-69 minister of planning.
It was produced by HBO but is no longer in their catalogue even in former Czechoslovakia, due to either some merger and sell-off of rights or because it's a 'conspiracy*'.. ThePirateBay has a copy which we watched. There are subtitles to be had here.. Unless you are fluent in Czech, English and Russian you'll need them.

I think the absolutely clearest evidence of it was bullshit was that invalid votes went to zero, basically. In every other case - older mail voting in the US, mail voting elsewhere it's like 1-2% because filling out ballots is not that easy.
Also, a recent fun incident, the illegal immigrant multiple felon who tried a mass shooting at one of those megachurches and she was registered as a voter in the county system. The screenshot posted is mine, I went and looked it up to check if people weren't just making it up.
Is voting registration a joke and not checked against national citizen databases or what ?
Between his post and yours my take away is that I'm now glad I can't date because going to a forest, finding a good sturdy tree branch and hanging oneself seems preferable to cultivating your romance instincts to be sociopathic so you can 'date' effectively.
I hated dating when I did it, I hated being rejected and having to reject, hated the awkwardness, hated that there was basically no one there relatable.
