At no point did white people decide that sub-Saharan Africa was worth settling.
The parts that weren't that hazardous like e.g. the fortuitously depopulated highlands in Kenya, or South Africa were settled.
By the time the tropical lowlands stopped being hazardous to health (1950s+), the population pressure in Europe had abated, and elite opinion was changed against colonisation.

And not by fraudulent or political methods - e.g. no amount of fraud or politics or manipulation can orbit payloads. And his company just tested the most powerful launch vehicle ever.
Sure, he's engaged in what's probably fraud (with Tesla autopilot especially), however, given his parentage, that's really not a bad track record.
Musk while he has problems, seems like a far better person than his father.
If Maye Musk is to be believed, Elon is basically a product of fraud.

If you make a good story that's not promoting anti-racism and DEI, you're taking people attention away from DEI media that do promote social change.

The inflation due to the Ukraine war was pretty brutal. Milk went up 50%. Eggs. Vegetables, etc.
The only thing that stayed low is pork, not sure why.

He means that in a situation of economic decline and political turmoil, times you can reasonably expect following the defeat of the United States in WW3 and the end of the dollar as a reserve currency, you won't be able to get all the fancy things you eat to have a nutritionally complete diet.

Given what sort of world the 'natural' world is - one full of parasitism, predation, want and consequent suffering, I don't believe we have any special duty to be merciful and trying to be unduly concerned with reducing suffering. As it is, we're reducing suffering by destroying natural ecosystems.
However, I'd support ending factory farming just because it'd make food more expensive.
Really though, reducing suffering by ending factory farming is like trying to make sea less salty by pissing into it.
Also, what you outlined is a fair bit of work.
Then you have to train yourself to eat weird things, instead of perfectly natural things like megafauna meat.

That's definitely not the meat, but the caloric excess, sugar and probably also seed oils that lead to unfavorable omega fatty acid ratios.
Nutritional research is extremely shoddy,and healthfulness of vegan diets is only in comparison with people who do not care much at all about what they eat - random loser diet. If you compare health conscious meat eaters and vegetarians, you get nothing really, or better health in meat eaters.

Why are we so afraid of the likelihood that we are every bit as bizarre as the quantum world; that we possess fantastic capacities that we have so far only allowed ourselves to imagine in science fiction and fantasy literature?
Because it's bullshit.
Because if through I dunno, extreme sensations you could tap into supernatural abilities, people would be doing it all the time. Various cultures routinely subjected their own to transcendentally painful initiation experiences. I recall others but this is the one I remember most.
Any tribe that tapped into something like that and got a useful ability out of it would have kept doing it, and this would have given them an edge and spread. We've got 40,000 years of essentially modern human tribes existing all over the planet yet no useful custom of this type appeared.
Meanwhile, the useful custom of marriage was a human universal until very recently.
It's unsurprising the government is doing it, but it's also very much against the values it's supposed to defend. Ofc it makes perfect sense how it behaves, a 'democratic' government is more often than not a government by the bureaucracy for the bureaucracy, wearing 'democracy' as a skin suit.

The US constitution was replaced by the Civil Rights Act, and over the next fifty years, activists were busily using state power to browbeat anyone opposed into compliance.
The government decided people can't segregate themselves by law, so they're now doing it financially. Federal government is disappointed, and has now resorted to mandating better loan conditions for people with worse credit scores.

I think you're typical minding. You're not a median woman, very far from it, furthermore you're old enough to have used your vastly superior mental tools to get a whole lot of experience.
What does a median 18-22 woman know about these things? Women are conformist, they 'read the room'. If media and society keep putting out a message "being chubby is bad etc" a young woman might have spent years as deluded about male preferences as some guys are deluded about female ones (the so called 'nice guy' ). Sure that's not very applicable now with the obesity epidemic, nevertheless..
Also, there's a whole bunch of research that found women don't really know what men want, body shape wise.

My heart bleeds for Apple users. Every time I am forced to use an Iphone - which is every time my boomer doctor father has some problem he can't figure out, I feel like screaming. It's like if someone took an Android phone and lobotomized it.
First time a few years back I found myself in utter disbelief when told the Iphone does not have a file system. There's no simple way for apps to share files.
Why people pay for these abominations is quite unclear. Fashion ? Don't know any better ?
