I am mildly interested in how the quest for Ukrainian nation building will develop my lifetime. Right now they manage to co-opt two very opposing sets of political and philosophical schools, largely due to wartime mobilisation censorship and patriotism. On the one hand the Ukrainian identity is being based on 19th/early 20th century style blood and soil rhetoric. The defenders of white Christian (even pagan) Europe against eastern orc hordes. Unspoiled real Slavs against the crypto-Tatar Muscovites. Real European Christians unlike those Eastern Orthodox peasants. On the other hand their only hope for national survival in this day and age is to tightly integrate with the “GAE”. So the Ukrainian army puts up EU flags in newly reconquered territories. Their parliament is busy rushing through gay agenda bills. Their politicians are making deals with Blackrock and learning the ropes of the WEF circuit.

But when the war ends these two stories cannot coexist for long. You cannot arm neo-nazi battalions while going through the EU integration process. You cannot outright ban one of the largest churches as well as the linguistic communities in your country and try to enter the Schengen area. It’s not for nothing that half the EU funded ads targeted to my demographic on social media has some visible minorities (ie blacks) posing as proud Europeans. The nationalist Ukrainian state, if it ever stops being such a poor corrupt shithole and enters the EU, will have to cope with millions of African/South Asian/Middle Eastern immigrants as well as the European Court of Human Rights rulings which will not tolerate the blood and soil rhetoric in practice. It’s ridiculous contradictions all over and makes me profoundly sad that so many young brave people are dying for a political project doomed to fail if it ever succeeds.

Something has to give in at some point. I don’t know what but I am not very hopeful about the results.

Can someone invent a Curtis Yarvin reading LLM so that I can finally make sense of this guy's massive wall of rambling texts full of unfinished sentences

Without having much of a stake in this discussion, I can confidently tell you that you can go to any bar in Europe or Turkey tonight and signal some affluence as a man and check for yourself if the rumours about Ukrainian women are correct.

“Mainly consist” was the term I used. It’s a combination of a couple reasons:

  • Female heavy degrees are almost always fake subjects polluting scientific integrity and draining resources. I have witnessed many times in my university life that the worst and most pointless courses/degree specialisations in even the hardest science tracks were devised with the expectation to attract more females. Fields like sociology, psychology, art history etc speak for themselves. Closing down these faculties or only restricting them to rigorous academic work would immediately cut down female population in universities severely.
  • Keeping the intelligent female population of your nation in useless education until late 20s, wasting away the most fertile years of their life is just incredibly bad policy.
  • There are very few significant achievements in human history that doesn’t originate from a tight-knit group of competent men heavy on camaraderie and ambition. Adding females to the equation always erodes this spirit.
  • Endless education as a tool to escape “real life” is a problem afflicting both sexes but especially women fall very hard into this trap. Female brain is much more sensitive to approval from authority figures and the education system with its clear reward feedback loops seems to be almost addictive to a sort of high achieving woman.
  • Women typically makes a lot less use of their education even when they enroll in more sensible degrees. They are easily spooked by competitive environments, they are tricked by social validation that comes with many low value professions, and they take long maternity leaves and work part-time because they enjoy to be with their family more than at work.
  • Female style of office politics is absolutely poisonous to academia. When women takes over administrative positions at sufficient numbers, academic research just gives way to conformism and group-think.
  • The fact that almost every above-average women in the society spends their prime pair bonding years at university campuses, and afterwards develop a refusal to date anyone below their education status, makes university de-facto mandatory for any men with some ambition. There is no reason why someone needs to go through a 4-year degree to become a film director, computer programmer or sales manager. People historically didn’t go to uni for such jobs. But if you try this today you are very likely forfeiting your mate prospects. Even men who don’t want/need uni education to be very successful, have to enter a good one and drop out to gain enough social clout.

I can really just go on. All of these are obviously gross generalisations and often apply to many men in some degrees as well but in the end these effects add up in a big way.

it serves as a warning to other countries wanting to invade their neighbors

It serves as a warning to other countries wanting to antagonise their much bigger stronger neighbours relying on western support. Your country will be decimated and in the end you will eventually be forgotten for some other geopolitical priority and lose anyway.

For me it’s mostly just valuing my time. I know from past experience that vast majority of his essays can be reduced to one paragraph of plain English if you are familiar with his ideas. So I can’t be bothered with skimming through 20 mins of reading material and keeping my focus enough while doing so when he stops rambling I don’t miss it.

Such blatant unfairness raises my hackles

"The game" is unfair either way. It will never be fair as long as we are mammals with certain sexual instincts. Hear me out.

What you are objecting is a situation where the unfairness becomes explicit instead of implicit. But this is a horribly bad strategy!! If you are not a "gigachad" and/or "absolute player" type of guy, this is exactly what you want! When the rules of the game becomes more explicit it gives more chances to people who lack the deep social instincts for playing the implicit game. And forgive me for stereotyping, but I have literally never met an Indian guy (from India proper) who had very strong instincts in this regard and I know many.

When ladies get cheap booze explicitly from the bar there is less expectation on you to do the classic move of introduce yourself with confidence, say a couple witty funny things, and ask what she wants to drink. For some guys this is second nature. For many this is nerve wrecking and they will fuck it up. If you are in the group that gets the nerves from approaching a pretty girl like this then you should absolutely welcome a ladies night. It takes some pressure off you.

This is the exact reason why dance classes, blind dating, formal courtship, even arranged marriages etc are all good strategies for men too awkward to just ask a girl out from zero. Each one of these options add an extra dose of explicitness to the interaction.

Yeah I suppose that is the "best case" scenario, although I doubt your average Azov battalion is thrilled to die for that.

But there are some big deviations.

Ireland's former/current overlords are Anglo countries mired in versions of anti-colonial ideologies. So it is easy to make demands from them when you know how to push certain emotional narratives. Russia is unlikely to ever play along in that.

Also the world bank data shows that before the whole tax haven thing, Ireland was trailing the UK with around 65% of its GDP per capita. That is not a terribly poor country. The main period of their transition from nationalist/parochial to atomised West Europeans also lies during a period of still pretty high birthrates and global rapid economic development. Compare that with Ukraine.

In short I doubt that economically they could hope for anything better than what Bulgaria (or Romania tops) have achieved, even if they entered the EU in 2021, Europe had decades of strong economic growth and the war never happened.

Should also take into account that the next generation of Ukrainian nationalists are going to be very well armed, have enormous combat experience and corps d'esprit, and have massive expectations for the nationalist future in their mind after sacrificing so tremendously. I doubt that they will be so docile if they start smelling betrayal in the air. This video comes to mind: https://youtube.com/watch?v=rgkPpsyUFcM

I don’t agree with this. Homogenisation is a side of integrating into the global market economy. However a lot of countries achieved this integration without getting richer and better off. I have travelled in plenty of poor but modernised places and plenty of poor but not so modernised places. It was very clear for me that the people generally had a nicer life in the second ones.

Are they covering things up anymore than the corresponding American institutions?

Besides, the virus didn't disrupt much. 75yo people with 2+ co-morbidities aren't responsible for a lot of critical infrastructure. Western governments got themselves into lockdowns on their own will and continue to fervently defend this decision.

At this point it looks like China is on the way to be the most-harmed country by corona related events as everyone else totally forgot about it but they are stuck in their hypochondria.

attacked Israel as soon as she was born

Such a miraculous thing, states being "born". With totally no other context behind the event. Land of virgin births indeed.

This is exactly what I am talking about. It devolves into a silly and extremely dishonest game of definitions. See, it is not an open prison, it is just a double whammy tight "land border" with a "blockade" on the sea side. Just like what Canada and the US have! And then of course there is always the attempt to justify why Gazans deserve to be imprisoned in this totally-not-open-air-prison because they elected bad people.

So Israel forced those people (who aren't usually actually from Gaza, but typically from areas south of what is now Israel, and have families all over Israel and West Bank) to emigrate to refugee camps in Gaza. And then made their exit illegal and dependent on rarely obtained "permits" that they can get for sustained good behavior. And also convinced Egypt through a combination of US bribery and regime self-interest arguments, to do the same. And also destroyed their only airport and closed down the sea access as well because it is totally not a prison, see, they are just not allowed to leave.

The fact that there were extra steps and justifications to Gaza becoming an open air prison, doesn't change the fact that it is now an open air prison.

This is such a strange take. The US set up client states in Jordan and Egypt to stop them from attacking Israel. It finances half the Lebanese political factions for this purpose (and even Hezbollah!). The entire Iraq war (2-3 TRILLION dollars depending on calculation methods) realistically had no other purpose than to eliminate a regime Israel wanted gone. It still stations around 30.000 soldiers around Middle East, with realistically no other purpose than to deter anyone who might want to mess with Israel. Almost any random deal US sponsors around the world will include some small ridiculous clauses to give Israel a bit more diplomatic legitimacy. US is unable to normalize relations with Iran, even though this would make a great amount of geopolitical sense, because Israel doesn't want it.

The list can go on and on. And I am not getting into items like the French giving Israel nuclear arms technology or massive sums of blood money West Germany paid for Israel's industrialization.

The 3 billion direct military aid is absolutely nothing compared to what America and Europe actually provides to Israel.

Ukraine has a growingly serious ban on publishing any video/photo evidence of war stuff. There used to be multiple phone videos of almost any fighting that occurred near Ukrainian civilian centers and nowadays Russia's 50 cruise missile salvos into Kiev will have perhaps one video showing a distant explosion and almost everything is blurred. They got good at finding anyone sharing such videos and punishment is severe.

On the front, Ukrainian military is enthusiastic about making slick edits of any Russian death and publishing to often tasteless music. It makes sense since they are toast without their foreign patrons and they need to show some results. Russians don't have such constraints and rarely put out anything official other than suicide drone hits on expensive military hardware.

There was a lot of hype around open source intelligence at the beginning of the war when everyone was uploading everything to snapchat. But it is no longer to an accurate way to keep track of the action. There has since been a lot of Western media effort to inspect Russian information which can be a proxy for casualties and make calculations (new graveyard space, small town recruits returning with less men than they left with etc) but nothing for the Ukrainian side. So it is quite pointless to try to keep any ratio. We simply don't know.

In the Discord leaks the pro-RU side had to photoshop the CIA's casualty estimates since it was embarrassing.

If the leaks have shown anything actually important, it was that the Americans don't have a good insight of the workings of the Ukrainian military, and in some case maybe know more about the Russian side. So this should be taken with a large grain of salt as well.

Another possible explanation is that 6 out of those 8 likely smokers didn’t pick it up because they got into vaping.

Sure but does it really matter what the average person thinks? Elite attention is 99% on the news and 1% what the non-elite people think so ideally the politicians and journos panicking is all you need if you think alignment efforts are useful or important

but generally in American culture genitals mean sex and its taboo to combine children and sex

How do you do toilet training with your kids if genitals mean sex and a taboo with regards to children? Besides, how does the statue with a penis become okay at 10 but not at 6 years old? They are still very much kids right?

Why?

Just because all societies have mythologies, it doesn't mean all mythologies are equally true or even good at sustaining cohesion at a given moment. The Holocaust mythology has become extremely intertwined with certain authoritarian tendencies of the neoliberal elite and it is in danger of signifying nothing else than a lesson of "this is why you ignore plebs in politics". Not being able to discuss it at such a basic level means a myth will lose its nuances and eventually adaptiveness to the changing of society.

Modifying your arguments to be in the "same camp" with the right people isn't exactly the sign of an intellectually honest thinker. It makes sense if one is earning a living or fame from their thinking, but this is a discussion forum of a couple hundred internet autists. Can we stop with acting as if anyone's "position" on anything here actually matters?

I think the main thing that people are actually interested in is an explicit accounting of what you think has happened with the rest of the Jews (ie 4 out of 6 million in the usual number). I haven’t seen you address this issue in the discussion.

and the Vysehrad Group have shown how the EU is pretty toothless against an awkward squad.

I think this was due to EU institutions designed for horse trading between a handful of Western European countries (ie France and Germany basically) being unable to cope with the amount of veto power each member has when the number of members is almost 30. Currently that’s being fixed with Poland and Hungary acting as the comic book villains against whom we should empower our sensible heroic Eurocrat overlords. If Ukraine ever enters the EU (probably as part of a larger expansion including countries like Moldova, Serbia etc) this will imo be part of a larger deal to seriously empower the Center against member states. Or maybe this doesn’t happen at all and newly anointed eu members Ukraine and Georgia just become another set of US satellites in Brussels. Who knows

There's a flippant, distinctly young healthy male attitude to so much of their thinking

Young men make or break civilisations. They invent, fight, discover, innovate and destroy. There is a reason almost any “historical figure” who did something exceptionally good or bad is a man. A society that channels their energy to productive and creative forces progress. Otherwise the young men will find a way to express their innate energy in whatever destructive way.

Protecting the elderly or the women are secondary tasks of a society and should never come at the cost of telling young men to indefinitely stay at home, not aspire to anything, jerk off three times a day. Because then soon you will have no society left to protect the vulnerable.

I mean, the rules didn't differ so much in places where the elderly did get vaccinated. Once you agree to the premises of corona containment, nothing other than a perfect vaccine with universal uptake can stop the madness.

Do you normally refuse to entertain any opinions based on your own experiences as long as someone did not go through the trouble of collecting or locating almost impossible to find data? Or is this an isolated demand for rigour you are applying to this specific subject?

Yes of course. Syria and Afghanistan experienced devastation and migration outflows at a much bigger scale yet you don’t see many Syrian or Afghan prostitutes/gold diggers.

My point wasn’t that this situation didn’t exist before the war. It’s that, this situation exists! It got hyper turbo charged because of the war. It can’t be dismissed as silly propaganda

The US is giving everything Israel demands and more. What can one accuse Biden of not doing to help Israel?

Also an unknown but likely substantial numbers of those hostages have died/will die due to Israeli bombardment and starvation. It might backfire big time if some documents end up leaked tying IDF action to deaths of American passport holding hostages.
