I want it to be a good and useful personal assistant; that means not being obtrusive or people-pleasing or fishing for further engagement or trying to be my friend, but having just enough volition to occasionally nag me about stuff I should be doing.
I've never run into implicit threats of force.
I don't quite know what you mean.
I've never run into that, but I live in the major-metro Midwest, am white, and the most unpleasant I get with cops is woe-is-me snark.
You're leaving out the part where the person getting the speeding ticket actually was speeding. It's not knuckling under and being a cuck to admit that yeah going 50 in a 25 zone probably wasnt kosher, my bad.
Chicago, west side.
I don't know how it went in your country, but in the USA, Lockdown measures continued in some places for a LONG time, even after the vaccines were widely available. I personally felt like the goalposts had been moved; all the pro-lockdown people around me had said they wouldn't stop demanding lockdowns until there was a vaccine; a vaccine became available, and the pro-lockdown people continued to be pro-lockdown and said they wouldn't stop until the vaccines were mandatory with 100% compliance, also we need vaccine boosters every X months for the new variant. They also didn't think that anyone gained any natural immunity from having gotten covid, even though that's exactly how the vaccines they were waiting for work, by giving you the benefits of natural immunity without you having to get sick first, because it turns out that the people who Believe The Science don't actually know the fucking science; they were expecting a 100% effective vaccine when even our yearly flu shots are only 70% effective. Masking and Taking Covid Seriously became a leftist cause because they saw a conservative not wearing a mask and hand to triple down on doing the opposite, until of course there was street protesting to be done.
They kept on looking for excuses to keep being afraid. I will neither forgive nor forget that those people trapped me inside, stopped me from dating, stopped me from engaging in my hobbies, stole three(+) years of my life, and when one of them who had been my friend threatened me with vague promises that one day soon I'd be a minority and get my comeuppance, called me a White Supremacist, then betrayed me and his other roommates, emotionally abused his girlfriend and tried holder her hostage, and attacked me with an axe, and suffered NO loss of reputation among his Leftist friends, because he was a Queer Marxist of Color and therefore could do no wrong.
I still see young-ish mask-wearing leftists every. single. day.
The MAGA conservatives in the US chase votes and approval by dunking on the left. The bases of both parties have been radicalized by a decade plus of propaganda that makes them think of the other side as an existential threat to the future; MAGA doesn't have to be consistent or effective on policy, it just needs to give the impression that it's fighting Wokeness, and Woke made a lot of enemies.
Rather in the same way that a cop killing an innocent person is more outrageous than rando killing someone; the cop is supposed to protect people, and is empowered by the state to do so. I have high standards for the medical and scientific establishment and find it particularly perverse and outrageous when they cave to/follow political pressure. I have very low standards for a populist movement of anti-vaxxers and fox news youtube clip viewers led by Orange Man.
Whenever I envision public transit (based on my experiences on the Blue Line in chicago), there's always one hobo taking up two+ seats because he's sleeping/living there; the homeless person is often black, but somehow no one hassles them for breaking any rules. So slightly funny that Karen picked a fight with someone she had a chance of shaming.
It's cute, but also something of a virtue-signal; Christians will get a huge stiffie over it, and she can rely on others to take her "vengeance" for her (not that she necessarily wants it).
The best compromise I’ve seen people use is to look to both sides’ leaders, and see what they’re condoning and possibly whether they’re getting lots of pushback.
Elected officials or "Influencers?"
Leftists are an interpersonal social hazard despite not having any elected politicians apart from AoC.
That is the joke
I find myself looking back on the history of YouTube anti-woke politics in light of the whole Charlie Kirk thing. Because I never really knew or cared who Charlie Kirk was, and my first exposure to him led to a reaction of "oh this is just Stephen Crowder but as a smug Christian."
This led me to reflect on the declining quality of human being in the...words fail me. Alt media? Internet political influencers?
I have a lot of nostalgia for The SkepticsTM and that entire era of YouTube talking head. (Often not even a head, just an avatar pic.) Now whenever I fish around for that level of quality, it simply isn't to be found. We are all infected. We are all dumber than we used to be.
Some of this is downstream of the YouTube algorithm in the sense that it incentivized shorter more quickly-produced low-effort content. Back in the day people used to make video essays, or cringe compilations. If they did something live, it was a Hangout, an informal podcast involving people who sure look like genuine friends having genuine discussions. Often with no live video feed. These days it appears to be some guy pontificating off the top of his head, repeating himself often, talking in circles. Kyle Kulinski now does the same thing that Tim pool was doing a few years ago. Hassan Piker appears to just be an LA nepo-baby himbo socialite, and he's very much a step down from whatever Vaush is/was, who was in turn a step down from Chapo Trap House (these are all things I dislike, but I note the decline in quality).
I've also noticed the trad motive decay. Originally, "based" was a punchline and no one pretended to actually be socially conservative, in the same way that Marilyn Manson isn't actually a Satanist, all the upside-down crosses are just there to trigger the normies. I suppose this shouldn't be surprising; the original anti-woke thesis was "look I'm liberal/democrat just like you, but you're so smug and obnoxious and factually wrong I find myself becoming conservative just to spite you."
(That was the original troll op: trying to make the point that the other party is so thin-skinned, fragile and unreasonable that they'll very predictably flip their shit over "it's okay to be white.")
In particular, Twitch seems to be full of fucking townies. No one talks philosophy or has a dignified intellectual persona. The era of Sargon, Dr Layman, Dev, Kraut, and Vee shooting the shit as genuine friends is long over, it's just influencers chasing clout all the way down now.
TL;DR: Asmongold is a shittier Sargon, and current-year Carl is also a shitty caricature of himself.
This is a rambling drunken phonepost, so forgive me. I mourn for the lost Internet of yesteryear. The only place on YouTube I see anything like that old level of genuine quality is EFAP.
Are we talking about the Name of the Wind?
"I'm so glad when I get to meet cool gay guys instead of weird straight guys" -random woman in a bar of unremarkable attractiveness.
Do you mean official armed combatant employment? I just have a hard time imagining the ad on Indeed, apart from it promising you'll be On The Right Side Of History, or right-wing-equivalent-thereof.
People already make 6+ figures being demented culture warriors on Twitch, Youtube, and T-T.
In addition to Jan 6, there was also the Tiki Torch thing way back when, which spooked people because it was white-identitarian but otherwise resembled a leftist protest.
I still maintain that a lot of this started when protesting became a social scene, a thing to do like going to concerts and shows, but with an incentive to one-up each other performatively and let mob mentality take over.
It's cancel culture and it's bad, and employers should refuse to listen to (all) such complaints in the same way one refuses to negotiate with terrorists.
On principle, a rando calling in to get someone fired should be treated as inadmissable evidence.
A personal perspective: Elected Democratic politicians are not quite the same thing as Leftist Influencers, but I don't run into very many Democrat politicians in my day-to-day, but I DO encounter Leftists repeating leftist-influencer lines, in real life, and I've been in real interpersonal conflicts where the other party being Leftist puts me in jeopardy as a straight white male who refuses to do leftist call->response.
For example, when a Black "Queer" Marxist tried to harass and terrorize his roommates into giving him the lease to their living space, and then attacked me with an axe when he failed, all the local leftists were strangely silent, when they're usually very judgemental of any incident of misbehavior. Almost like I was an acceptable target, regardless of what elected Democrat politicians would say on the subject.
To the point where I wonder if mutual acquaintances amongst themselves were saying things like "well that's what you get for being a white supremacist."
I'm curious as to what firsthand experience convinced him this was what to spend the rest of his life on this topic; what X-pilled him?
Like JKR, did he brush up against the trans activist complex? They do seem to have this effect on people.
The ending makes the beginning of the show make no sense, almost like they wrote it as they went along and then never bothered to go back and make sure that it added up.
Also they do the whole capitalism bad thing, while leaving out that the Communists in fallout are also cartoonishly evil and stupid.
Wizards aren't going to get enslaved by black muggles and sold to white muggles to pick muggle cotton.
Nor were there wizard dutchmen involuntarily transporting African wizards to the Caribbean.
There wasn't a parallel wizard British empire that established a wizard Raj in wizard india, and German wizards didn't holocaust Jewish wizards during Wizard War 2, wizards iraelis arent currently genociding wizard Palestinians in an open-air wizard prison. Wizards have their own history, they dont just ape muggle history but with wands and silly names.
I suppose that most african-american wizards would be muggle-born, and thus would carry with them whatever dysfunctions an 11-year-old African American would have.
Was there a wave of ellis-island wizard european immigration to the Americas? Or would almost all American wizards be WASPs?
Wizards can teleport at will and express their ethnic bigotry towards muggles/muggle-borns and sentient magical creatures. Also, African wizards would have the oldest magical tradition and probably live like Wakandans. If they have a negative stereotype in the wizarding world, it'd be being a bit full of themselves.
Maybe current-day hogwarts is a second-tier School and doesn't attract as many international students as it used to. It'd fit thematically with the general decline of Britain, many of the old pureblood families have fallen on a hard times by the time we reach the late 90s.
Also the game depicted Slytherins that weren't evil, and added lore that Merlin was in Slytherin house.
I was always annoyed that in the final book the entirety of Slytherin house sided with the Voldies.
I'm sorry, what? Did a Mormon sneak in here?

Very structurally competent, but not as good as episode 2, better than episode 1. They leaned into the "little boys" characterization to the point where it feels like South Park.
