I finished it about a week ago. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though I did find the heavy emphasis on real time elements annoying at times. But the gameplay was generally solid, the story was excellent, the music was excellent... the game really just fired on all cylinders. Similar to @naraburns I had the thought that I hope Square-Enix is taking notes, because this is what I wanted Final Fantasy to be like for the last 20 years instead of the hot mess it has been. I doubt it, but one can hope.
Where does one "acquire" Windows 10 LTSC? My understanding is that the LTSC version is pretty good and doesn't have the various annoyances MS has added over the years (nags to upgrade downgrade to Windows 11, ad notifications, etc). I don't use Windows much these days but I'm sick of them having ruined the operating system which I paid for ex post facto. So I'm thinking it's time to hoist the black flag and install a version which actually works well, but I'm not sure where to get that.
Good luck, man. Hopefully it goes well!
When I'm trying to attract women, and looking to settle down and marry before the decade is out? Then what other people think of you matters.
It's your right to decide whether you do this thing or not. But this is a terrible reason because it just isn't true. Lots and lots of people (the vast majority, in fact) attract a mate without resorting to cosmetic surgery. You, yourself, have said you've had reasonable success with women. In other words, this sort of thing is not needed. Getting some face fat removed from you is simply not going to matter to your ability to get married before the decade is out.
I second this. Start with Ubuntu, go from there once you get comfortable. Fedora would also be a good choice if you want to get into sysadmin stuff, since RHEL is so popular in the infrastructure world.
Reddit format spoilers don't work on this site as far as I know. You need to put two vertical bars on either side, like this:
Good man. Props to him even if we do disagree.
I will refrain from further judgment, given the demographics of this forum...
I mean, posters here aren't shy about analyzing women even though we have women who participate. It seems only fair if you ladies do the same to us, so I say go for it.
Reading those Scott quotes makes me wonder if the idea of a "set point" has just been tainted by association with low-status people, much like his observation on how Alex Jones latched onto a real environmental effect and turned "they're turning the frogs gay" into a national joke because people think he's lame.
I wonder how so many people got psyopped into using these unwieldy rollers that I watch them fighting to fit into overhead compartments.
This is why checked baggage will always reign supreme. I used to always fly Southwest for that very reason. No need to try to get huge bags in the overhead bin, at best I'm putting up a small tote which has a change of clothes and valuables I don't want to let out of my sight. The rest is in my big checked bag. Alas that they too have joined the legion of airlines trying to turn basic parts of the experience into an upcharge.
I'm actually ok with those being disallowed from the complaining zone. I get quite sick of being held to collective blame (as a white American) for things that happened before I was even born. Slavery and the Trail of Tears happened before my ancestors even came over to the country! It doesn't seem very fair to hold grudges against a group of people who couldn't possibly have committed the wrong to begin with.
Good points, but it bears pointing out that the Gospels record that Pilate repeatedly said "this man has done no wrong" and that ultimately he declared "his blood isn't on my head, it's on yours". So, our primary sources tell us that he knew damn well that it was a miscarriage of justice and that it was wrong to carry that out (otherwise he wouldn't have disclaimed the guilt). I think it's pretty fair to call that derelict of his duty, since it's apparent from the narrative that his duty was to dispense justice. At best you can say that he had two duties in conflict, but that doesn't mean he didn't neglect one of them.
of all the atrocities committed in the name of Rome, the killing of Jesus likely does not even make the top million.
From the secular perspective, sure. From the Christian perspective (which, remember is what this whole discussion has been about) nothing else can really come close to "killing God" on a list of atrocities. So I would say that depends a great deal on your stance on other things.
Yes. But the Christian position is that even though the outcome was good, the act was still bad. I've never heard anyone seriously try to argue that killing Jesus was good on a consequentialist basis, anyways.
It’s like saying “maybe Pontius Pilot shouldn’t have signed that one guy’s death warrant, because letting an angry mob override the fair application of law and due process is wrong”.
That would be a pretty anodyne statement in Christian society. Pilate is not considered a positive figure precisely because he was derelict in his duty and put Jesus to death.
The issue here (if I understand correctly) isn't people from work calling for no good reason, it's "Jan from the tax relief department" calling the number to try to scam you. I get 6 or so of the latter type of calls every day, though thankfully not at night so they wouldn't wake me up.
Ugh, that's really shitty. That's a bummer. :/
CGL has enormously poisoned the well with their shenanigans.
What has Catalyst done? I don't really keep up with the tabletop side, I basically bought a starter box and never played. I'm not surprised they have been up to shenanigans after how badly they botched Shadowrun 6e, but I'm not familiar with it either.
Although I think at some point HBS Battletech let you fire your small weapons while you meleed? Was that a thing?
Yeah, that is how it works. Melee lets you fire your small weapons alongside the melee hit itself.
True! Although I am worried that as a Packers fan I'll find myself excommunicated soon.
No Pope Pizzaballa. The meme dream is dead.
You're welcome! I hope you're feeling somewhat better now that some time has passed.
Thank you!
Do you have any tips on where one might read about the outcomes of the free state project? I thought it was an interesting idea, but I never really knew what became of it.
That's an interesting point, but is it not also plausible that dominating other people is pleasurable because it taps into an impulse which God does intend that we enjoy? In that case the good feeling of dominating others would ultimately be something which is corrupted by sin, much like how sex outside of marriage still feels good but isn't part of God's plan.
Not in my experience. I have had plenty of platonic female friends, but none of them ever tried to set me up with someone. Nor (as far as I'm aware) did they do so for any other dudes they were friends with. I can only speculate as to why, though (generational difference? nerdy women don't get into matchmaking the way normie women do? who knows).
