As a kid? Yeah…
I’m happy to see it has dozens of new long and intricate campaigns packed with plenty of missions pathways and a sense of character progression tied to a solid gameplay loop.
Warzone 2100 is an open source RTS that is similarly well maintained.

One thing I've seen done several times is companies guaranteeing a quality standard. Basically, they are eager to tell you everything about what good framing/plumbing/wiring/stuccoing should look like and will either send a second guy with a checklist or let you do it yourself or hire a third party.
I asked for this once and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I think I want to get into 3D printing, so that I can start churning out toy soldiers and paintable models for role playing games, and environments for table top RPGs. I feel the market must have matured since I last eyed it 5-10 years ago.
Any recommendations? I am thinking of $500-1k to get my toes wet.

Probably 2020/2021. I used wine around 0.9.x days and not much since it hit 1.x. I barely touched Proton. I gave up trying to virtualize Windows or something under Linux with GPU kernel pass through, couldn’t get PCI lanes to talk correctly.

I’ve used GNU+Linux since kernels 2.4.x, and still I only bother using Windows on bare metal for my gaming PC. You’re going to spend time tinkering instead of gaming. My tinkering is limited to mods of old games with 3rd-party tools and configurations that can only work on Windows anyway, even if Wine/Proton call run the base game on ?n*x.

Luger? Very cool, but from what I’ve seen gun mechanic enjoyers go for revolvers, with an appreciation of different “lockwork”. S&W, for example, even has a specialist gunsmith machining team named the Performance Center and markets firearms touched by their skill explicitly.

I use something called the Golden Butterfly portfolio which is a prosperity-tilted allocation of the Permanent Portfolio. I chose this because I have no idea what I’m doing.

It prevents drama, simping, weird cliques and e-girl social games from showing on my feed. I’ve never been tempted to not block, even if a woman makes a regrettably good point, and the women I’ve accidentally ended up following (such as I/O @eyeslasho on X, who posts HBD stats, is almost certainly an Asian woman, I’ve since blocked) end up focusing on content and it isn’t obvious they’re women until they get into spats outside their focus which betray them.
That being said a lot of the men get into hen house dramas of their own, especially homosexuals like Fuentes and others. I block them too.

Some Twitter/X femcel who resents men because she had bad experiences, so she offers an openly misandrist world view. Kind of like a personification of https://old.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/.
She’s a self-proclaimed “New York 6” and you wouldn’t really remark on her looks, rather mid, but not ugly enough to warrant her rhetoric.
I’ve had her blocked for ages since I reflexively block all women on social media, but she would get into rows and the shooter, who followed her, said RFH has been “vindicated” - I’m not sure how.
She had an alien Nordic avatar, IIRC she was involved with some kind of hard right thing back in Tumblr(?). But here is her substack since she went private on X after the shooter praised her (though the authenticity of that excerpt has been questioned):
