Consider: by raising your kids Amish you are vastly decreasing their risk of depression, suicide, drug use, and violence.
This is like the advice to not own guns because you'd be decreasing the odds of encountering gun violence. The effect of following such advice is vastly decreased if you're already the kind of person who would follow such advice.
Besides, I can also reduce all risks my children would face to 0 by not having them. This is an exaggeration, but in my (admittedly very distanced) view Amish exist more so than live. Even the context they're mostly discussed in betrays that - that their largest/only advantage is their demographics, not their lifestyle but its robustness. I'm reminded of the "roaches will survive a nuclear war" factoid - sure, but that doesn't endear me to be a roach. They may have their simple joys but they're way too simple for me.

I haven't gotten the impression that immigration is restricted for overseas people in Russia all that much. Anti-immigration talk focuses on Middle Asia - cheap labor, Muslim, etc.
There are barriers that would deter a 1st world immigrant. You have to learn the language (less important for Middle Asian immigrants who aren't taking high-level jobs and have many of their own countrymen at the jobs they do take), and you'll have to go through conscription if you're a male 30 (27 until recently) and under. Again, conscription is likely less undesirable for someone already used to a hard life, if not desirable (being fed, clothed, roofed and given an express course in conversational Russian).

While filtering out "inadequate" suitors on the dating app (and I can bet there are many) might be easier than changing your lifestyle to adequately date, I don't believe it's no effort. Too many posters give off this "just get a good partner sis" message when they describe women's dating prospects, whereas "just clean up and be confident bro" doesn't work quite as well.

A relatively tiny enclave of Amish can survive and keep their ways of living under the protection of a country like USA. Perhaps a relatively tiny country like the Switzerland or Monaco could survive being Amish while living under the protection of modern EU (and USA). Can anyone bigger do it and not become thirdworldized? Doubt.

What would be the version of your proposal from the Russian perspective? Chinese women fleeing from Taiwan war? American based tradgirls fleeing from civil war? Go ahead, tempt me with something plausible.

You could probably grab tokens from your friendly local game store's chaff pile, if they host MTG events they likely have a surplus of basic lands and tokens.
I think the biggest rule change since your old times was mana burn - at some point they got rid of it, now excess mana simply disappears at the end of every phase.

I would like us to do all we can to strengthen the weak, including the means some view as "going against God's vision" or "essentially genocide" (referring to genetic modifications). It appears that the willingness to go against God's vision takes this lesser form, for now.
