I really don’t see what moral discovery she’s made. How about you ask me what I would do if this story happened to someone else and how I would react to hearing about it? The answer is “I would feel sad for their difficult situation in which I am epistemically paralyzed to help or judge”. That’s my answer, Aella, this isn’t philosophy, this is “would you rather fuck your dad or your mom”, and casually throwing this on twitter is probably inspiring a bunch of similar behaviour amongst impressionable young adults.

“Musk needs government subsidies for his companies” is not sufficient to assume “the establishment has direct control over Musk’s adventures in twitter”. This strikes me as conspiratorial thinking. There are plenty of ways that the Musk-establishment relationship could be coloured without him being an enthusiastic and willing member, or otherwise a directly and forcibly controlled party.

I imagine they aren’t too concerned because their solutions to mental health are largely outside the acceptable purview of policy. If enforcing people make culturally Christian choices to live a wholesome mentally stable life free of vice is intolerable to the secular Center left, to a conservative politician their hands are tied.

I don’t know if I’d call this “extreme”, because she was drunk. People get into drunken altercations with this amount of heat all the time, and I don’t expect humans to remember to not say that one special word while their inhibitions against violence melt away. It’s not as if this event led to the discovery of a secret KKK membership that she had been holding while sober.
I don’t think these even deserves news coverage honestly.

It’s not a tautology when viewed from a human scale perspective of time. It is hard for humans to imagine when wondering why organisms look the way they do all the potential descendants of the organisms that didn’t survive.
From gods eye perspective, I agree, it is obvious that natural selection happens. There is no logical alternative, you cannot not accept it.

I think you’re %100 right on, but I also am currently living in the UK, and seemingly few here agree with this. A middle class programmer with a PhD who considers himself a worldly cosmopolitan will assure you they are working class. My theory is that the middle class is split down the middle by those who want to appear “posh” and those who want to look hip, which is what voting labour and identifying as working class is.

Your use of that metaphor is telling, we need hard objects to cling to, we need something to serve as an epistemological bedrock. Something is going to be unquestionable in whatever worldview we eventually settle on, and so far us/the secularists haven’t done a good job building something on top of the bedrock of rational observation.

Spend more than a few seconds considering what it means to have been burnt by allies before. Poland does not have the same eternal confidence in NATO that you do, and in terms of feeling existentially threatened as a Nation they fall closer to Israel/Jews than they do the average nation. Poles are a deeply skeptical and cynical people and I still don’t think any of them have the same theory about why the army is expanding now. Understand that these people’s relation to history is one of dreaming their past leaders armed themselves to the teeth in weapons and xenophobia while cleaning the toilets of the nations who at worst invaded them and best abandoned them.

What’s the deal with protein dosage when you’re building muscle. Taking the broscience rule of thumb of 1g/lb means you’re eating your whole body’s worth of weight of protein in 1 1/3 of a year.
Obviously there is some efficiency curve, but what else is going on here?

Just an example; “you’re like a communist who still praises Mao”. Walt doesn’t praise Hitler, does he? Nobody expects soft democratic socialists to feel shame about their prior opinions about the bourgeoisie.
I’d like to suggest that for historical explanations we use their pronouns at the time, then change after the transition comes in the story.
