It got to me because I've specifically never seen a JAV, despite knowing what they are, seeing screenshots and covers, knowing all the jokes about censoring blurs and weird excuse-plots, etc. I hang out with people who mention collecting terabytes of them for some reason, but they don't, like, post random videos in chat.
It seems weird that a gay would have that much engagement with straight porn.
Positions to which people are not appointed without having undergone serious vetting.
This was the UK though; that vetting consisted of asking his Oxford/Cambridge schoolmates if he was a good chap. Which backfired on them quite often when all the guy's buddies and professors were fellow members of the communist-homopaedo/theatre club who were all working for the Soviets too.

Thank you! I knew it must have something to do with windows, because it happened on multiple sites at once and I haven't updated the browser in long enough that it doesn't work on most sites for a while.

I'm starting to think this is a general problem with our format. "Issues of the week" are heavily discussed and then forgotten forever, unless someone crawls through the archive for callout materiel.
Personally I just have zero tolerance for arguments that go: "'how dare you,' she explained. 'How dare you,' she elaborated"
Last time I asked if anyone knew good English language sources for modern Holocaust scholarship, the only response was echos. I'd like to learn more, but for how emotionally invested people are there's very little effort to dredge up sources or make effort posts compared to every other topic discussed here.

The reason intentionality was such a big deal for holocaust historiography is because a lot of other nations have this on their records.
The gas chambers and skin lampshades and SS-she-wolves and Looney Tunes electric roller coasters have to be real, because if was all just starvation and cholera and slave camps and mass reprisal executions the holocaust starts looking too familiar. And it has to be seen as a categorically different and historically unique event, not just a quantitatively worse successor.
(Of course, future generations of historians might not care, and will instead prefer to treat the holocaust as just one of many related examples of "naturally evil white devils being evil")

The easy option here would be to say "it was all motivated by evil capitalist for-profit medicine." Conservatives are even helping to build that case for them already, and it will be a simple pivot when the time comes.
This book is outdated and does not coincide with today's body liberation movement, finding health at every size, and fat activism. This book is incredibly fat phobic and the psychoanalytic approach to being fat is BS. It suggests that women who are fat subconsciously want to be fat, it includes no other contextual factors. I thought this book would be about how fat women are treated by our patriarchal society. It does mention this concept, but the bulk of the book is a self-help guide to overcome compulsively eating to ultimately lose weight.
It appears to be very out of date and problematic compared to modern truths of "queer fat multiplicities that can disrupt dominant systems of subjugation and hierarchies"
There was already a "Fat Studies Reader (An Invitation To Revolution!) in 2009, and by 2019 we had "Queering Fat Activism: A Study in Whiteness" "argu(ing) for a thickened politics of white recognition within Fat Studies, so that scholars can better situate queer codes as aligned with the rejection of white civility"
It's certainly an expanding movement whose goals seem to have changed massively over time.

That's an interesting question. Are there "klepto therapy" vacation resorts for the wealthy/politicians, the way there are drug and sex-addiction rehab centers they volunteer to go to instead of taking a prison sentence?
