People said the same sort of thing when we were talking about cloudflare and kiwifarms, and I'm not really sure what to say to describe the pressure these groups impose other than gesture wildly at every Manipulating Procedural Outcomes essay.
Yes, it's possible for the CEO-king of Apple to say "fuck those guys, we're going solo", but this doesn't happen in practice even when men like the Cloudflare CEO commit to it in advance. That's because none of them have that much control over their own companies, and the procedures used to make internal decisions are all dominated by a party cadre that doesn't have the interests of the company in mind.
I can't imagine any set of orders Tim Cook could give his VPs that won't be met with replies of "yes sir, advertising and public relations will get right on studying the feasibility of that sir. They'll have an answer for you within four to six weeks."
This kind of thing happens again and again, and every time people are somehow surprised by it. Can you suggest any way I could talk about it that would make it click for people?

We literally live in a society that has taboos on 20 year olds having children and is currently selecting its members out of the planetary gene pool. And let's not even get started on all the other ways that only non-reproductive sex is celebrated, from homosexuality to infanticide to ritual castration.
I don't think you can use the Efficient Taboo Hypothesis for this one.

Can someone who understands computer explain how kiwifarms managed to come back with even its .net address intact?
I thought they'd had their domain registration stolen and were being null-routed by all the backbone ISPs, but I can access them reliably again. Is the owner just a wizard, or is there something to the old "the internet routes around censorship" line?
I've never seen a single organization hold up under the full weight of the blob before. It's honestly awe-inspiring to watch.

He's done. There'll be a rape accusation within six months, and he'll have his companies taken over by the entryists that are already setting up parallel power structures within them. That's what always happens to powerful individuals who go up against the blob.

Adding to what thrownaway24e89172 said, you're getting the same reaction to trying to define away all evidence of grooming because it sets off exactly the same alarm bells as "woah there, how dare you, she's 13 so technically it's not paedophilia." Definition dodging is a huge red flag.
It's just that some groups are used to the privilege of being able to change the dictionary to win, so being forced to use a less convenient definition feels like oppression.
The lack of mugshots suspiciously violated Coulter's law. And the deaths to wounded ratio definitely broke Sailer's law, so this one messed with all the reliable metrics.

Not judging because I've done it too, but oh God I hate that this is the easiest way to sync stuff between your own devices.

Why is this? If there is nothing wrong with the specific behavior of these activists, why avoid mentioning it?
Any little home improvement jobs you could do around there? Good time frame for it, and will be welcome if it's your parents. (Railings on steps, non-slip surfaces, all that little stuff that helps people getting older)
