Because at some levels of obliviousness/recklessness it is on the victim. Especially when the fate has thrown her a warning or two. Like a girl going to a bar where you have warned her is junkies watering hole and then she follows one of the said junkies while he was high to his apartment when you pleaded her not to, and then she calls you panicked two hours lately while she is locked in the bathroom after attempted rape. Thankfully i got there in time and she got away from the whole ordeal with only a big scare.
Life is like a horror movie - after you ignore the side character, commons sense and pure luck's warning to turn back - whatever happens after you open the dark door and enter inside is on you.

The experience is Eastern Europe after the Berlin Wall fell and in Argentina since forever shows that the state can just say - fuck you we give you 10 cents on the dollar to their citizens and they will take it and the state won't disintegrate.

Nothing precludes you from being incompetent grey cardinal, at least for a while if you inherit that power. If we assume that there is shadowy cabal that runs the US - you can literally see how they become more and more incompetent after the 70s - the cost disease kicks then and is accelerating ever since. It doesn't matter if the rulers are overt or covert. Well covert rule is cheaper.

It can't. The worst it could happen in Ukraine pre election is their defense to crack and they can be forced to a very bad peace talks over a barrel. And that is honestly just meh.
There just won't be enough NATO boots on the ground for things to go south.

I feel this is good place to post recent events in Vanderbilt college. So a group of pro Palestine students decide to make a sit in and occupy a building. The university responds with the mildest possible measures (not letting them access bathrooms) instead of folding over and well - the protesters don't look that good when you ignore their crybulling.
During an Instagram Live hosted around 6:30 p.m. CDT, one protestor described that they have needed to urinate “for at least five of the nine hours” that protesters have been inside. They stated that a VUPD officer told them that they would only be allowed to use the restroom if they agreed to be escorted out of the building. The protester stated that they are prone to urinary tract infections and kidney infections and, thus, are especially worried about their health.
At approximately 7:45 p.m. CDT, student protestors stated that one protestor was experiencing early symptoms of toxic shock syndrome such as pain, nausea and fever symptoms. Officers told the person that they still could not use the restroom without being removed from the premises, so they decided to remove their tampon during the sit-in. Students report feeling sick, dehydrated and nauseous. A university representative did not immediately respond to The Hustler’s request for comment about whether medical personnel would be allowed into the building if a student was experiencing a medical emergency.

Novartis spent $14 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $9 billion on R&D. GlaxoSmithKline spent $15 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $7 billion on R&D. Sanofi spent $11 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $6 billion on R&D. Bayer spent $18 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $8 billion on R&D. Johnson & Johnson spent $22 billion on sales and marketing, compared to $12 billion on R&D.
1st - remove patents. The whole point of a patent is to share the secret sauce so it is not lost, but lately patents don't share the secret sauce (most glaringly in software patents). They can't hide the molecule - and their competitors can figure out synthesis of their own. Since they will have an edge with internal knowledge they will have competitive advantage initially and if they keep their margins sane - there probably won't be incentive for the others to invest the capital to figure out how to produce the thing and set up a supply chain.
2nd - extend patents and order maximum margin over the production cost. If they have 5times longer period to recoup the investment their books may be balanced.
3rd - change the procurement procedure. For society wide needed drugs - Uncle Sam (with pitches from EU) grants the players some money to do R&D, offers generous prepurchase and prize grants for the winner, and ends owning the patent - afterwards the pharma companies can manufacture wherever they like and compete with generics. Something similar was done with covid and no matter what your opinion on vaccination was - it worked in delivering multiple safe-ish working products in record time

- I think this is a pretty bad argument in the gun rights contexts, and I think it's about as bad in the AI context. If the government is truly dedicated to putting down a rebellion, then a well regulated militia isn't going to stop them.
Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and their militia wasn't even well regulated.

"My health is at risk because if I'm not permitted to abort I might harm myself" is a free at-will golden ticket as long as you're able to memorize and repeat a sentence of that length.
I have a simple solution - allow abortion doctors and psychiatrists and hospitals to be sued by the patients if they have buyers remorse pre-menopause. Same with the ones that transition kids before they are 18 of age. If those are the unadulterated goods that proponents say they are - there won't be issues. People will think twice before rubberstamping one. There should be a skin in the game for the medical personal if they play fast and loose with life altering decisions

Absurd optimism. Eurodance ruled the airwaves, computers were bringing the future, every economy was growing, the financial crisis of 1997 was but a bump, racism was on the way out, anal sex became mandatory act in porn, blowjobs became mandatory acts in private, pubic hair was gone, gaming was entering its golden age. The worst thing that happened in the 90s was literally Limp Bizkit.
Honestly for the rest of the post - I think that the newly released Bad Therapy - Abigail Shrier answers what is going on. Too much feelings too little real world. Also - from my observations there is an absurd disheartening and nihilism ( and not the fun kind) that moves trough western society youth. Learned helplessness is the norm. And it is combined with so easy going attitude towards deviance that in a way we are living in an anarchy - like people that glue themselves to the roads or defacing art face no consequence.

That could explain why the writing of Ragnarok was so much weaker than the brilliance of the first game. And the parts with Atreus and Angrboda were atrocious and torture.
Women in Ragnarök were mixed bag - Freya was way uglier than in the first game, Faye was not quite the looker too, Angrboda was kinda ok, Sif was hot, Thrudd was having a case of terminal thiccness, And the dwarf woman was aquired taste, Valkyries were under helms.

There are maybe 10 AAA games that have ever been released with passable writing, and probably two thirds of them are from two studios (Rockstar and CDPR).
Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale 1 and Heart of the winter, Planescape Torment, Batman Arkham Asylum and City (lets pretend the others didn't happen, please), VTmB, Silent Hill 2 & 3, Soul Reaver 1 & 2, Clive Barker Undying, Portal 1 (okay, not quite AAA but brilliant), Portal 2 (weaker writing than portal 1, but classes above most of the modern crap), Assassin's creed II, Fallout New Vegas,
I would say that in the golden age of PC games - roughly 1997 - 2007 -sh good writing was expected from games that were supposed to have writing.
Edit: Freya in God Of war and god of war ragnarok have quite the visual differences and not in the favor of the ragnarok ones.

There are two types of discrimination. Against citizens and against non citizens. I think that HBD discrimination against non citizens is totally ok. So you can tune the migration flows accordingly.

Is there a realistic operation that is less bloody, deliberately avoids civilian casualties and actually punishes the perpetrators of oct 7th stuff and makes sure it will be hard to happen again. Hamas will avoid pitch battles and dig themselves in the tunnels.

It's just a few crazy kids on college campuses. In a few years, when they're out on the real world, you'll see, then they'll have to stop with all these shenanigans. Nothing to worry about.
The flops and attempted changes in Disney course seems to point in the direction that reality do have a say. Woke or not woke - in capitalist society you have to make money. And that part seems to be somewhat elusive. Now - they will put a big wave of destruction in their way. Much bigger then if they were stopped in time. I think that we are witnessing first cracks in their stranglehold of the means of cultural production.

That was never for debate. I asked completely different questions in the post - what is the benefit for Ukraine of disclosing natural causes.
I don't think it is toxic combination of scientific curiosity and hubris. Could work for Oppenheimer though.
