That's because the actual strategic play on the right is not to oppose Mamdani, its to amplify him.
I am talking not about the people on the center left, which fail in exactly the same way the people on the center right failed to stop Trump. There is coherent opposition. It is just an extremely ineffective one.

Don't you find it amusing that some people are trying to stop Mamdani with the same toolset that hilariously failed to stop trump for 10 years straight and are surprised at their failure.
There are extremely long think and hit pieces and lots of snark, refutals and zingers. And none of them are in format or place that are engaging to the people that will vote for him.

Neither. The majority of those professions are trapped in somewhat soulcrushing positions where they are not allowed to show the spark of genius that gives the high of being engineer/doctor etc.

I love openscad, but my programmer's mind still can't comprehend why the fuck they don't have the ability to assign group of points as an object. So it is quite the struggle. They really need to push it a bit more towards ide. The engine is great.

Does anyone else feel guilt over not working the full 8 hours in a laptop job?
I rarely work more than 2 hours. That includes Zoom meetings. I am in big corporate with amazingly terrible development process.

If I was on the jury I would not buy his story either.
Also this is a small tidbit I pulled from the internet.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office identified the individuals to be Rivera and Morales-Torres and determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the body and the manner to be homicide. Both victims were shot in the back.
That is one hell of a self defense.

Humiliation of the people that looked down on you for 10+ years is hardly 5d chess.
Couple of problems with that approach - there is additional reputational damage about EU being a good place for your money, especially when Germany and France's economies are going down the drain. Second - it is not clear that this will be enough money to turn the tide of the war. And there is not even certainty that there is even enough materiel on the market to be bought and gifted to Ukraine. No one is too keen on giving their latest toys to Ukraine, or even second to last gen - they know China has lots of advisers and they are taking notes. And there will be a problem if they are needed somewhere else and china has figured a way to make the wunderwaffes a lot less wunder will be a nasty surprise. The 4000 thousand tomahawks the US have will be worth a lot less if their efficacy suddenly becomes comparable to obsidian tomahawks.
And of course the big question - what happens when those money are over and there is no breakthrough?

There aren’t a lot of good solutions for Ukraine.
The only "realistic" solution for ukraine right now is Russia holds the territory (taking it back will be way too bloody), but forfeits the assets and pay additional hundred or two billion more over decades as reparations. Guess what - it is unacceptable for everyone.

Do you think that Trump's strategy in Ukraine is just him messing with EU leaders, because he knows how much hate and contempt they and their societies feel towards him (and showed it during 2016-2024) and he just enjoys their squeals? Dangling some help and resolution that will never materialize, especially since Europe is no longer of interest for USA.

Women and men make different errors while driving. At some point after driving a lot you develop a knack for telling the sex of the driver when you witness some form of danger or stupidity on the road. Or while parking.
If it is reckless - it is usually a man. If it lacks situational awareness or control over the vehicle - chances are it is a woman.

So young right are ironic antisemites and young left are unironic ones. This does not bode well for the jews and Israel. There has been way more howl for (and spilled) jewish blood from the left than the right since 2023.
Edit: A bit more - young people like the austrian painter for the same reason they like Tate. If you squish all the moderate versions of nationalism, patriotism and masculinity - the toxic ones will thrive.

Because Russia can only lose. This will give Trump reason to throw way more assistance to Ukraine, where as right now he does the bare minimum of support to shut down the critics. Also - they are not that competent to pull off such kind of thing traceless. If they are going to risk the wrath of Trump it is going to be for something big.

It is poorly worded rule. You are totally allowed to build consensus by convincing and persuading people. You are not allowed to assume already existing consensus on a topic. I am not sure that it is philosophical, but mostly practical. Posts that starts with - "We all agree that" usually are not very productive, not consistent and show that the poster has rarely faced any intellectual adversity and mostly has been in circlejerk places.
The only people terrified of socialism in US are a couple of million Eastern Bloc and China immigrants older than 35. Probably some latinos too. And they are staunchly anti Zohran.
