Honestly, aside from the non binary thing, this basically reads what I vaguely learned at that age in the 90’s.
It took me into my 20’s to think about that the water I use here has no effect on the Chinese (why not African??) kids with no water.
28 Years Later may be in my top ten favorite films … just need a rewatch so solidify my opinion on that.
Top 5 are:
Event Horizon Suspiria (2018) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Stop Making Sense
5th is always floating - just completely variable at anytime but it’s probably another Tarantino
I don’t actually mean to care about the homeless here - it just seems like me putting in my Drivers License to watch a Nikki Sims pov video from 15 years ago or something more obscene and German may lead to someone revealing this to people in an attempt at something.
Replace me with ten million other people I guess.
Maybe it’s an unfounded fear but there’s tens of thousands of people right now upset that Leo went to a wedding - I don’t want to not retire in 20 years because I have a foot fetish, and on occasion watch foot fetish video, of which on occasion veer towards obscenity.
Sure, but not in this case.
The internet has always been open for all.
Porn has been around since day one.
I remember trying to go on espn the first time I went online in maybe 1996 via AOL and porn came up. No damage done.
This is, imo, just puritinism.
I get it’s not a right … but having to wait for someone to unlock the deodorant to buy it is annoying as hell.
Any Culver’s drama??
I didn’t miss it.
And you didn’t miss the rest of my post either: I want to know why you view what you shared in your post about that woman in a negative light?
Again, it just seems like a woman getting her shit together in her mid 20’s. I did that for the most part in my late 20’s … I know dozens of people that did in various ways.
You don’t like that she did it in part through maybe finding god based on a Turning Point USA (yuck) podcast?
Your last paragraph completely threw me for a loop … I just didn’t see it coming after reading your post.
The woman in your post did the opposite of fuck her life up - it looks like she made her life better. She stopped drinking as much, found community, stopped hooking up, is looking for a family, etc.
I dislike religion pretty vehemently but I understand the community and sense of peace it can bring.
Great write up
I’m a Heat Dolphins & Marlins fan and I wish I enjoyed hockey
I really only watch Dolphins games and Redzone and only follow the other two online, Heat daily & Marlins on occasion (even tho I like watching baseball the most - it’s the most exciting sport)
I wish I were a Panthers fan - the last three seasons would’ve been fucking insane to watch
Thank you so much!
Definitely gonna take the two hour trip to hall of mosses and then take the rest of the day to explore and work our way back it looks like!
Not to turn this into a travelogue with my fellow traveler heading to China later, but I’m heading to Washington State and the coast of Oregon in early October.
One full day at Olympic National Park coming from the north entrance (Port Charles or something?).
Five days on the coast of Oregon (Arch Cape?) - literally right on the beach.
And then like three hours south and inland for three days. (Scott’s Mills)
What should I and my wonderful wife do?
Specifically anything can’t miss in Olympic? It’s been a dream of mine to go there.
I like waterfalls and short hikes and maybe a brewery or two. I love scenic stuff and have never seen the fall.
floral print
Like Hawaiian shirts? I knew I liked you …
The first store my mom ever took me to in the US was a place called Marshall’s. A fantastic place for cheap clothes that last season were in the fancier stores.
She told me to go look at the men’s area and when I turned a corner there was this huge H Rack of tropical shirts. My little communist brain was gob smacked.
I mean, I’ve seen blacks and Hispanics at this point but I just didn’t know it was legal to wear such bright colors.
It’s been 34+ years and I still rock my tropical floral Hawaiian shirts almost daily.
I also have social anxiety and am 6ft5 285 so I try to hide by standing out and the shirts help in that department.
Love your posts.
E: as to Israel - I’ve noticed people attacks the weak. My opinion is state what you believe in situations that aren’t related to business. People don’t actually care … they’re just pretending.
My continual take away is that I don’t like war being called ethnic cleansing.
It’s just war. It’s even a just war based on any literal thing I can think of in our psyche over the last several decades, much less the last two thousand years.
My prediction is Iran squirreled away its nuclear stuff and they’ll bomb a few bases and we’ll all call it a day - no idea if the regime is falling or not.
And I’m sure Israel wants leaders around them in various countries that don’t want to slaughter them completely.
I don’t know any women who are impressed by a $1500 espresso machine
Everything else you wrote rings true - but this is absurd! Or rather, not my lived experience at all. The person sleeping next to me now can tell you about all the expresso machines in all the various price ranges and why one is better than another.
But, all things have exceptions I imagine.
Try testosterone
You’ll blow past expectations early
I have not but after taking a fantasy break, I’m ready to jump back in the large and now massively back logged ocean.
I’m be read The Malazan Book of the Fallen 3x now and am just waiting it out a few more years until my next read through. I’ll include his other books set in the universe next time as well. It’s my favorite series, and really my favorite piece of entertainment.
I started with Stephen King at 10/11 or so but didn’t read the Gunslinger saga until my late 20’s and still haven’t read the last 50 or so pages. I stopped one day and wanted to savor the ending … and then just never went back? I love all of the standard King novels but especially Insomnia.
Then quickly moved on the Sword of Truth and then Wheel of Time. I’ve read both twice. For WoT I didn’t read the ending written by Sanderson yet, and for SoT I stopped reading after book ten I think. I want to re-read both again but I think maybe I’ll let it lay until retirement. They both have many slug filled … hundreds of pages at a time.
All of The Black Company books. I would rank these second to Malazan for me. They’re Malazan light even I would say. I love how fast and readable they are and love all of the various crews and hijinks they get up to.
Tad Williams has two fanatic trilogies in Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn books that’s more fantasy typical and Otherland which is more sci fi and is 4 books. I’ve never read this one again but it’s stuck with me for going on 25 years now.
The Black Jewels Trilogy really had an impact on my sexual thoughts as a youngster, for better or worse.
That’s off the top of my head. There’s like 12-15 trilogies I’ve read and can’t recall tbh. I’ll have to walk through a 90’s B&N and rekindle my thoughts.
Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb - whom I somehow never read while devouring hundreds of fantasy novels in my teens and twenties, and whom I had no idea was a woman until recently.
It really is a big world out there.
Read first 100 pages today - really pretty good.
Sounds like it’s an opportunity to test yourself in a new environment. Also, pick up some chicken and rice and beans and some containers and prep a bit. Actively tell your parents about what you’re doing and why. He’ll grab a cheap grill and have some fun and better tasting food.
Have fun!
But I don’t think we have a smart and capable Congress and we have them fattening themselves up.
I do feel slightly bad about giving zero fucks about the things Trump and his clan are doing compared to what the Dems have done recently. Almost I feel like it’s a ‘ well the doors open now ‘ so motorboat away whole heartedly.
I guess I never much cared about Hunter Biden getting paid as much as I cared that people were lying about it and calling me a ring winger or even Nazi or stupid for ‘ believing ‘ that anything shady was going on.
Now that I write that out, that’s definitely the issue. I see what corruption is, and so does everyone else, for the most part. Being gaslit is what makes me start giving a care.
That’s actually a shockingly small list from the NYT so maybe Trump isn’t pulling a Ceaser.
I’m honestly having a hard time finding the truth in your post here when it comes to the thoughts of others.
It seems like all the attributions you are giving to Israel (killing as many people as possible, the population wants to kill as many of them as possible, they’re only not due to reasons, the people on the ground say so) are just actually true about Hamas and Palestine whereas they could be true about Israel if you squinted hard enough and ignored the people doing the saying.
I don’t really see how I’m an Israeli apologists when I shrug my shoulders and go ‘ yea, they deserve this - that’s what happens in a war … this has happened tens of thousands of times before’ and this time it’s actually completely deserved.
Thanks for the heads up!
Had no idea.
My probably annoying way of talking about myself and a group of people I tangentially relate to
Like, I’m with the OP making light of religion - but it doesn’t mean I find him funny or correct
The second one being a colloquial of people who grew up in the 90’s
Everyone wants a Coke
I feel like the line is between the West and China about how to get there and if I had to pick which way to lean, it’s on the trans non binary future side
Yea - the church will succumb one day
I don’t think that’s what the person was saying at all.
The implication is that the culture of Afghanistan and Iraq and most of Africa and numerous other parts of the world, along with substandard intelligence, means that those places aren’t ready to be part of the better world.
This seems true.
If you were to say ‘ white people are clearly the most intelligent people, and the most innovative ‘ I would also agree and just kinda point to absolutely everything that they’ve accomplished (I’m Slavic - I don’t count) and how they’re the envy of the world.
I do believe the rest of the world will catch up - and I do believe if you steal a baby from some shit he country and stick ‘em in an average American home that they’ll just be like everyone else.
But why pretend they won’t be flooded with bad culture on top of bad genes on top of bad environment where they currently are and won’t accomplish much ?
