I second this almost completely.
As soon as I heard the whistling that was going on - I mean, what are we doing?
I want ICE to deport illegals … if you want to protest that than ok but you can’t stop this - it’s what I voted for!
Unfortunately they aren’t going after the business owners so it’s mostly optics but good damn at least they’re doing something about an issue.
Let’s see if I can walk the streets at night in the cities within my lifetime like you can in Poland.

Damage control it looks like.
The context of the Goode shooting after the fact made it reasonable - I’m gonna hold my tongue for a few days.
For some reason my favorite Libertarian podcast The Reason Roundtable still talk about the Goode shooting as if it wasn’t at all reasonable - so I’m not sure anything will have any meaning with this shooting either.
But it LOOKS egregious.

I just hate marketing more the older I get I think.
I get my ‘protein’ from meat and eggs and dairy and sometimes a (gay) powder - and frankly that’s how 98% of successful gym people do it too.

I absolutely love a Negroni. It’s not for the faint of heart - it’s for bitter people that love bitter things … I mean I’m happy as fuck and I still love it.
Two parts juniper forward gin one part Campari one part sweet vermouth shaken or stirred with ice I don’t know the difference with an orange peel twist.
I’ll have two.
I’m out on old fashioned’s. Terrible drink.

Thinking just spoils things … you won, enjoy!
Unless! - early retirement? Then the equation starts churning. If you can retire at 50 instead of 60 by going on one less big trip a year and 1-2 less getaways here and there and 2-3 less big dinners (or whatever your equivalent is here) then so long as you’re still doing these things to a lesser degree you go ahead and focus more on the then.
But that doesn’t sound like your goal.
And I’d say enjoy the present - at 85 you’ll enjoy staying home more.

The Will of the Many.
Fantastic! Got it for Christmas, started it four days ago and about 140 pages in.
Love the setting and idea (LOVE) - main character is cool - it’s just fun so far.
Empire makes everything better but kills and destroys to do so. The empire takes peoples ‘ will ‘ and ages them faster and makes them lethargic while they themselves get stronger and stay healthier. Very Roman-esque vibe.
Fantasy is back (for me) baby !

One big compound lift a day (squat bench dead) and build your sexy muscles with ISOs.
Or only do compound and call it a day.
Or only do ISO.
It’ll all work - hit your protein goal and gain 3-4lbs a month and fly away.

No not at all.
With my 401k + SS (which will be there) I should make do with about 70k a year from 65-85 - fiancé will be somewhere in the 55-60k range with a Roth. Plus a few other index funds here and there, maybe, with hopefully al almost paid off home … and maybe some slight inheritance from somewhere but I have my doubts.
I wish I were this excited ten years ago - if not 20 lol.
Everything has been and always will be bad - and the horizon is always bad and always will be. But that’s just the way it is - people keep living.
But also - we go on 1 larger and 1 smaller vacation a year and 2-3 small weekend things and there’s two teenage boys in the house and I make 65 and she makes 50 and we pay 2800 a month for rent because America is a joke.
I think the future is bright - just gotta stay healthy.

Completely agree.
I was born in Poland and came over to the US as a political refugee in like ‘89 as a weeee lad.
It seems to me that Poland and other various Eastern states will be the staging ground of once again saving Europe from the horde.
Not excited - no kumbaya - just a blood massacre … again.

My buddy tried this and ended up publishing his own work. Both sci fi. He went at it from every angle possible - thinks it’s impossible for a white straight guy to be published but you know, he is jaded from the experience.

So: 1000$ ‘experience’ Christmas gift for my fiancé .., and possibly myself - as in, it can be like a couples gift thing.
I’ve always been known as a great gift giver but this year there’s just something that’s blocking my mind from activating.
We’re in south Florida and I was thinking something like: couples massage thing, snorkeling weekend at the keys, some sort of little two day getaway somewhere, and that’s pretty much it.
Gimmi some ideas - just something I haven’t thought of or put of left field!

Not knowing the cost should be illegal.
Tear down the entire economy to cull the health insurance industry - it’s one of many things, but imo the most important, that needs to be ripped apart and changed in a manner beneficial to most Americans.

You’re going to die.
Go on vacation.
I was single and after getting my BS and Masters I was ready to eat my slice of the American pie. Instead I still work retail and am now in debt. I said fuck this system about a year after I graduated and now owe student loans and credit debt. I defaulted on the cards. And I’m going to be paying my student loans probably for literally ever.
Now I just got engaged (grammas ring!) and all of a sudden care again. She makes as much as me. We’ll both eventually make more (my American dream isn’t dead - just angrily smoldering).
We still went on vacation this year. A once in a lifetime for both of us (ahem? once we make more maybe this trip will seem quaint) trip on the Washington north near Olympic National Park and on the Oregan coast, right on the beach, where I proposed.
I could’ve taken that 8k and done something else with it. We could’ve saved more (currently we’re saving about 10k a year … we have about 115k in in total savings between my 401k and her divorce) or put it towards a debt.
But we’re paying that debt - and what if she dies tomorrow? Or me? Or one of her kids (which will ruin her for years)?
Go on vacation man.
Go to the Oregan coast and walk out at midnight and feel it.

I explained my own take on Kirk here, how I was horrified that anyone is dying in political violence, but that Kirk was hardly some “martyr for truth”. He was just a mundane political operative -- a commentator/e-celeb that wasn’t particularly noteworthy prior to his death. The idea he was “promoting dialogue” was completely hollow when what he was really doing was farming infantile leftists for dunk opportunities that he could then post on TikTok and elsewhere for money and clout. I certainly don’t think that’s evil, but it’s also not some great public service. Is my opinion sufficiently insensitive that people on the Right think I should be fired? Based on the types of people that are being targeted in the screenshots above, I’d say it’s plausible to think so.
He was the main voice of the online and young right.
He was more noteworthy than every political pundit from: late night shows, main stream media (cnn msnbc Fox News), etc possibly put together.
Add up his followers / listeners or TPUSA numbers and see how noteworthy he actually was.
His death will not be a watershed moment because we are going through a transition from the 50’s-9/11 to whatever the fuck is going on in our world right now. But it has the feel of it if you have an understanding of his impact.
I’ve never listened to the guy, not once! But I can look and see what his impact is / was and what he actually did.
I do not think your lookey look into his life post death is accurate whatsoever.
What comes to mind for me (not about you … I’m just pontificating now) about Kirk is: they will call you a Nazi, then they will kill the Nazi, then they will cheer the Nazis death, then they will be outraged that people are aghast at their own behavior of cheerful murder of completely mundane people.
The question isn’t what’s wrong with carrying a gun in Minnesota - you’re muddying the water attempting to ask it.
It’s putting it all together that’s insane.
