But are all nerds "Grey Tribe"?, as I said in another comment, at least in the Scott piece some of the signifiers of grey tribe is using Uber, but that seems nonsensical to me when you can't afford a car but need to go somewhere on a timely manner.

The thing that sometimes confuses me is that they assign things like using Uber to this tribe (like in the Scott article), but that is almost a necessity in an urban context for all the people that don't earn enough for a car (a Tesla in case of the blues) but need to go somewhere in a timely maner.

And reading all that is why I don't relly think too much about other movies in the franchise outside T1 & T2. Between the cashgrabs and the bad writing you could twist that universe like a pretzel and be internally semi-consistent. Your theory is interesting if nothing else, it could as easily have been like time travel in Back to the future, in which every jump to the past doesn't alter the present day but branches it off, and closes the travelers from accessing the old timeline. What would happen if a skynet of an old timeline send more than one group of travelers? would a second branch sprung up from it, I wonder.

Considering the viability of starlink and its recently revealed (to me) advantage with regards to battlefield disruptions not affecting it, I would assume than it is more probable for the US government to try to nationalize it or something to that effect than it failing.

I think it's important to point out that according to T2, Skynet had to develop much of its technology, as shown with the Miles subplot of using the T1 remains (Specifically its microchips) to revolutionize the entire field at Cyberdyne. The current tech at the moment of Judgment Day was probably too primitive to do anything like what you are proposing in your OP.

For those whose life motto is "The personal is political" I would expect to be in cloud nine. But I think when all is said and done and we are in a Cyberpunk Dystopia (without all the cool shit and a ton more of subscription services) they will be between the first to revolt.
