I keep inheriting MATLAB code at work. It is horrible. Can't use it in production since production computers are locked down linux machines that don't have MATLAB. I grit my teeth and do much my work in MATLAB.
BUT NOW, we have an LLM at work approved for our use. I feed it large MATLAB scripts and tell it to give me an equivalent vectorized Python script. A few seconds later I get the Python script. Functions are carried over as Python equivalents. So far 100% success rate.
This thing rocks. Brainless "turn this code into that similar code" tasks take a few seconds rather than an hour.
I had a thermodynamics issue that I vaguely remember learning about in college. I spent maybe a minute thinking up the best way to phrase the relevant question. The LLM gave me the answer and responded to my request for sources with real sources I verified. Google previously declined to show me the relevant results. I now have verified an important point and sent it and high quality sources to the relevant people at work.
It is not perfect. I had a bunch of FFTs I needed to do. Not that complicated. As a test I asked it to write me functions to FFT the input data and then to IFFT the results to recreate the original data. It made a few functions that mostly match my requirements. But as the very long code block went on it lost its way and the later functions were flawed. They were verifiable wrongly. It helpfully made an example using these functions and at a glance I saw it had to be wrong. Just a few hundred lines of code and it gets lost. Not a huge problem. Still an amazing time to results ratio. I clean up the last bit and it is acceptable.
I won't ask these things about potential Jewish bias in the BBC or anything like that. I will continue to ask for verifiable methods of finding answers to real material questions and reap the verifiably correct rewards.

Letting in huge numbers of illegals and false asylum claimants by the millions is practically free. Getting them back out is expensive.
The alternative is to shrug and let almost all of them stay. And then the next Democratic president lets in a few million more. Then shrug again. From the point of view of a Republican, you can guaranteed lose hard through inaction, or bite the bullet and go big in reversing the tide.
I think the Democrats will win anyways. It is too great an advantage to be able to let in millions for free.

Back in college some engineering students thought that would be better. Shave a year off of college and skip the mandatory liberal arts classes. I'm not sure how enriched I really was taking intro courses in anthropology and gender studies. I might have been better off taking more technical classes or graduating sooner. But that's admitting college is a training program for professional tech workers. Some people really don't like that thought.

That's a really good answer.
I suspect other factors would negate this effect. Such as selecting for self-motivated people who can afford to move and buy property. That filters out the listless and destitute. I predict a photo collage of these people vs equivalent income and age white Americans would not obviously show they are ugly losers, as comically shown in that link.

This is a general anti-empathy argument. Too general. If this was a principled consistent stance applied fairly to all political groups, then it would be merely ruthlessly cutting support for low performers in order to focus on broader goals. We can instead want to support some lower performing people and also pursue other goals. It is some bearable amount of opportunity cost that political groups accept.
I'm not concerned about imaginary white extinction or getting coal miners back to work, etc. But, I can feel some empathy for the victims wage suppression schemes. People who can't outcompete a Bangladeshi child or a Guatemalan in willingness to live in poverty or accept harsh working conditions. Even if they were hypercompetent, they can't and shouldn't want to win this race to the bottom against literal 3rd worlders.
If some white racist also extends some empathy to such people and feels some affinity to them, I don't think it makes sense to criticize that as not sufficiently important. The health and prosperity of their chosen group seems obviously important. Of all the criticisms to level at white nationalists, I'll give them a pass for wishing poor white people in the Midwest were healthier and had a higher labor participation rate.
Seems like reading really deep into very little.
I know people who approximately look like this type. Aging, balding white guy with beard. I have no complaints about their looks or character.
Could use more exercise and less food. True, but also true for most Americans their age.

There was a question asked during the 2021 New York City mayoral race: what is the median sale price for a home in Brooklyn?
A few candidates gave answers of varying comical inaccuracy. One candidate was Shaun Donovan who has many years of housing policy experience.
As Wikipedia summarizes Donovan:

Many years of directly relevant experience including years working this at the highest level on this topic for New York City. His estimate for the median Brooklyn home sale price in 2021 was $100,000. Wrong order of magnitude. The cheapest listed unit on real estate websites for Brooklyn at that time was $100k for a parking spot. The very cheapest actual homes were many hundreds of thousands of dollars with the median sale price over $900k.
So yeah, somehow the head of multiple relevant agencies for years at the Federal and local level knows fuck all about the basics of his specialty.
I heard the audio from these interviews and interestingly Andrew Yang quickly reasoned that the median would not be significantly offset by the few super expensive homes in Brooklyn and guessed $900k which is within a few percent of the correct answer. Yang has of course never been appointed to be the head of any agency. Nerds may be right, but always be losing.

One of my favorite articles. A white nationalist realizes he is actually the true rootless cosmopolitan. He also seems to really distrust and maybe dislike white women. Which is going to make having white babies very hard.

Lack of prosecution artificially reduce crime stats. "Crime rates are down, actually" -> our local progressive prosecutor has declined to do their job, so unprosecuted crimes are now much more common.

I'll bet the crime rates in my local major city are really quite low. Open drug selling and use is not prosecuted. Homeless shantytowns are allowed. Car break ins and retail theft are common but cops don't care. It's not even the cops' fault. Prosecutors won't prosecute so there would be no point in pursuing such criminals.
Indeed, if they decline to arrest and prosecute such criminals, then (convicted) crime rates must be low. My perception of property crime rates is rather higher since I see broken car glass on the sidewalk and many locked up items in stores. I bought a jacket and they were all locked together on cable locks. The employee explained that an organized theft gang rushed in and stole large numbers of coats, so now everything is cable locked. Grocery stores now have locked sections for not very expensive product. Who is stealing detergent? Anyways, I bet a review of local conviction rates would not reveal any of this.

Is it true that an 80 hour per month work requirement for able bodied people without children to qualify for Medicaid is part of the BBB? Yes. 80 hours of work, schooling, training or volunteering. Exempted if the recipient has kids 14 years or younger.
The assertion by conservatives is that Medicare was intended for only the poorest and least fortunate among us. Whether it should be expanded to able bodied people who don't work is a political question.
