That's right: Amazon wants a taste of self driving vehicles. And to their credit I think this is the best approach. It's a way to dodge the fentanyl zombies who infest local busses and trains, not a personal car that you own.
And I've seen Google's truly self driving vehicles in person repeatedly. I'm surely not an expert, but Tesla's self driving might work a lot better if they slapped some LIDAR on it. Google and Amazon went big on LIDAR. Machine vision really doesn't get the job done as of today.
We might actually get real self driving in some limited areas. It's not going to go to 100% self driving, but in limited urban areas it will be more than zero in the near future.
They have defined "whiteness" as a set of cultural norms. That Smithsonian museum infographic made the mistake of plainly stating the claims of academics in an easy to read format. Plenty of serious academics claim the same things, but that's not easily viewed by the general public so they aren't subjected to the same public derision.
To be clear: no one is banning tiktok. They may force ByteDance to divest from the American form of tiktok. ByteDance can then sell it to non-Chinese owners. Or take their ball and go home. Their choice.
The arguments I've heard in favor of this involve the CCP controlling Chinese companies and the American form of tiktok being a horrible antisocial negative version but the Chinese version being a prosocial positive version. Which would be the CCP messing with our youth. And the black box hand-modified algorithm promoting content is not an even-handed arbiter of memetic popularity. Neither in China nor the US.
Anecdotally my Chinese American in-laws and wife agree that the Chinese version of tiktok is superior. And they use Chinese mainland Apple accounts to load it on their phones because it is the "good" version. So when some Congressman claims that, I accept it.

What is 8 pounds of extra weight on your chest compared to a rifle backup that is quickly and easily presentable?
Weight is everything. A true cost benefit analysis rejects excess weight with extreme prejudice. Here's where I'll assert that weight is a consideration so powerful that "I'll carry a second long arm" is ridiculous. "Quickly and easily" is reserved for swapping mags, not silly video game switching from one rifle to the next.

I'll jump in and propose a hell of a lot longer of a prison sentence for home invasion double murder. I see that there was some confusion if he or his accomplice actually pulled the trigger in that double murder. I don't care. 4 years for breaking into a home and participating in a double murder is abhorrent even if he didn't personally pull the trigger. The kind of person who chooses to participate in those acts is the kind who cannot walk free in society. I would propose at least a few decades in prison. 4 years was gross misjustice.

America's NATO ""allies"" fail to spend the agreed upon amounts on their militaries. They fail to meet their commitments and for some reason my American tax dollars are spent keeping them safe. The European "peace dividend" is me getting footed with the bill while they selfishly spend on social programs. Trump correctly called them out as failing to meet their commitments. His lack of politeness and poise has the benefit of him plainly stating the unpleasant truth.
I don't want Russia getting away with invading their neighbors. I don't want a return to 19th century and early warfare. I wish Europeans shared my attitude.

The only ingredients you need are to levy an accusation and wait for your target's inevitable protest.
And a crucial third ingredient: have the intended victim of this trap be Donald Trump. Other people in other situations, such as Hillary Clinton defaming the women who accused Bill Clinton of raping them, are not dragged into civil cases.
Are we to interpret this as a consistent principle that judges would apply to prominent Democratic politicians when they deny accusations? Or just a weapon to be used on Trump and then put away?

Okay, but:
The California Air Resources Board on Thursday signed off on a sweeping plan requiring that by 2035, all new passenger cars and light trucks sold in the state be electric vehicles or other emissions-free models.
Given that we lack the raw materials to replace ICE cars with electric cars, I think they sort of are. They can't make riding the LA public transportation system attractive. But they can effectively ban most private ownership of vehicles. Degrading quality of life of people in the suburbs is surprisingly popular among some political factions.

Don't over-learn from one example. Reloading is massively faster than throwing away a long gun and drawing a second one. Tarrant be damned in many ways: he was doing the wrong thing and doing it wrong.
This whole discussion is so fundamentally wrong that I can only write it off as video game logic. I know I'm lapsing into "just trust me bro" territory, but this is just dumb. This isn't how it works. Learn to shoot and see how comically wrong this idea is.

Extremely hard disagree. I very much hope that general adherence to social norms is not used as a criterion of judgement by actual criminal trial judges. It is by happenstance alone that my sexual tastes and general aesthetic are commonly accepted today. My choice in partners would be scandalous in rather recent memory. I'm not a weirdo subversive by 2022 standards. I'm even straight.
Perhaps we could separate social aesthetic norms that are frankly not the government's damned business and the serious matters of criminal law.

This new right may be incoherent, or maybe they are taking a page from the libertarians and not caring about strictly personal matters of strangers. Either you care about white people, their bio-diversity, history and continued existence or you don't.
I'm white. I care about white people continuing to exist. I'm also not a white nationalist. We'll thrive just fine next to Mexicans and Asian immigrants. The Indian families on my block are not wounding my ability to thrive as a white man.
This appears to be the very falsest of dichotomies.
