You're both right. Almost all rape allegations are true. But the ones that filter up to make the national media spotlight are mostly false, or at least complicated. From the holy texts: https://slatestarcodex.com/2014/12/17/the-toxoplasma-of-rage/

Because these are not government organizations? You can make a girls-only club. You can make an all genders club. If you want an all-boys club, you can make that too.

One man's modus ponens is another's modus tollens.

Got it. I had no idea anybody intentionally used strangulation, and when it did occur I thought it was only due to a miscalculation or other incompetence.

You and others in the thread have implied that hangings are inhumane. Could I ask why? Assuming it's not botched, it seems second only to explosively disassembling the brain in terms of no time to suffer. In particular, more humane than firing squad, where you get a few shots to the body and several seconds of pain while the brain loses consciousness from blood loss.

I would also like to breathe that air. What reason do we have to believe that this is safe given the tremendous record of health disasters that are only recognized decades after the fact? Sounds like a high-risk solution.

If you optimize for what's best for the kid rather than what's convenient for the parents, it's no screens in the same room for young children. I don't think the data on it is incontrovertible, but it is pretty compelling. The AAP recommends absolutely zero screen time under under 2 year olds. I walked the walk on this with my own kids, literally never letting them lay eyes on a turned on screen. I was prepared to let them watch educational-type shows when they turned 2, but looking at their behavior at around 2 years old, I realized I would have to sacrifice some other form of play to make time for it, and it never made sense in terms of what was best for them, so my kids never saw a screen until they entered the public school system.

You draw your line wherever you want, but I would personally be mortified to model playing video games to my kids.

Children deserve a parent who's present with them rather than a screen.

His take is consistent and unrelenting atheism, and he criticizes Christians and Muslims alike, which these days makes him homeless, politically. I've listened to a lot of him and there's a lot of criticism of Islam and Islamic terrorists, I don't remember anything specifically Zionist. Do you have a reference?

I had the same reaction. I thought it was a faked-up overdone reenactment and it was quickly out of my mind. A little later someone pointed out that it was actually a real interview with Holmes (her look has changed a lot), and it instantly turned it into a must watch for me.

Reported for violating rule:

Proactively provide evidence in proportion to how partisan and inflammatory your claim might be.

Why should I believe in God? Why should I believe in Hell? Why should I believe in an eternal soul that outlives my body? Why should I believe anything written in the Bible? Why should I believe anything a bunch of ignorant dead men said?

Cutting off the bottom 40% of the distribution and then finding that the remaining 60% is average-to-above-average is a thoroughly underwhelming statistical finding. Autists have pretty specific deficits in understanding people, and if that's not measured in IQ, so much the worse for IQ.

the ballroom would not be completed by the time he leaves office anyway.

From your lips to God's ears.

The good news is that this actually most works anyway because there just aren't very many determined attackers.

Absolutely. The same person who has the competency, drive, and intelligence to think through new angles of attack and succeed are also successful at finding better uses for their life.

My mistake.

In one of his interviews, his primary complaint was that individual lone-wolf acts of violence are not sufficient to stop AI development and would have a tendency to sway public opinion in the opposite direction, as these things do. But his opposition is only because of ineffectiveness. He's very publicly in favor of an international alliance of USA, EU, Russia, and China firebombing rogue data centers.

That's insightful. Thanks.

Can you explain what you mean by that? It seems a pretty consistent world-view to me.

You do know that there are other viable hypotheses besides Buddhism and Christianity? This isn't only directed at you, but I do wonder what went astray that there's so much unabashed religiosity in my rat-adjacent fora.

You got nerd-sniped by ... nicotine? Keep us up to date on your efforts to kick the habit. We're rooting for you.

The chicken thing might be them absorbing water during the chilling process. Look for packaging that says "air-chilled" and see if that solves your texture problem.

"treat this as a stop sign" is beyond their ken

Drivers don't even treat stop signs as stop signs.

There's gotta be a connection between a mama who makes those kinds of decisions and needing food stamps in the first place. That's enough to throw the whole program in the bin and go back to local neighborhood charity by people who can verify it's being put to good use.

Where can I read this strong evidence?
