The class which Hoffmeister is describing has very sharp boundaries, which (I doubt) any of us posting here will ever fall into. In contrast, it’s pretty likely that many of us on this forum would be shitting our pants in the Marxist-Leninist’s ideal society.
There are plenty of Marxist-Leninists who describe their enemies using very sharp boundaries. I would expect many of us here to not take them at their word. We've seen how it plays out in reality - power is a hell of a drug, and "exploitative landowner monopolist" today turns into "neighbor who has more cows (means of production) than me" tomorrow.
"Unless someone is directly threatening your life and limb or invaded your home, you can't kill them. No, not even if they're an antisocial, unsightly and incorrigible drain on your taxes" is a pretty strong Schelling fence that I don't want to see broken.
Sure, you don't do anything bad now - firstly, becuase you're by your own admission timid, but also because the state would put you away for shooting an irksome vagrant. Why would I want to take chances with living next to people like you in case the state shifts to be more permissive, though? Would you like to live next to a literal Marxist-Leninist intellectual who is perfectly civil yet a) owns a gun and b) posts on the Internet about all the kulaks and bloodsuckers he'd be putting against the wall if only the revolution came?

You said token_progressive's argument about gendered names was building the case for traditional pronouns, when it does not. A gendered name does not have to correspond to biological sex. It does, however, most often correspond to gender presentation, so if you see a dress, you won't be confused on whether Masha is a male or female name. Not so if you only encounter the person online. That's the context where pronouns in bio are useful.

What exactly is the difference between stating your "traditional" and "preferred" pronouns in your email signature? A traditional pronoun set matches your original name just as well as your preferred pronoun set matches your original or newly chosen name.
Is it just the slash mark between nominative and accusative?

I mostly just watch clip compilations, music videos and sometimes put a stream/recording up in background. They're professional entertainers,and different ones have different draws. Some have a unique brand of humour (Nyanners), physical comedy and chat banter (Zentreya), others scratch the pretty simple itch of "cute girl being silly and chatty while geeking out over the same games I like" (Gawr Gura, Koseki Bijou). Some shine when collabing with others (Fuwamoco, this particular example being a literal pair of twins who almost always stream together). The kayfabe of actually being a shark girl from Atlantis or what have you is engaging.

I don't recall ever deliberately reading a biography. When a book includes the author's biography in the beginning, I'm annoyed - that's not what I've got this book for.
I also have trouble writing biographies (such as for tabletop RPG characters).
I don't recall being particularly attached to a live speaker, even if I like the topic. I do have particular content creators whose overall style and sense of humour I enjoy.
I suppose I can't think of any topic I'd want their input on that they haven't already released tons of words on (that I have read or listened to).

I've never felt so interested in any specific historical person's outlook that I'd pick them. I don't know what mechanism others use to figure out their picks, it all reads like "le based military leaders and greek philosophers" to me. I probably wouldn't even pick the authors of my current most favorite fiction.
If you put a gun to my head, provided I can pick from living people, I'd choose my top 5 vtubers.

What is your explanation for masturbation being taboo for most of history instead of being considered a mildly effective release valve for good Christian men who don't want to accidentally sin? There's "if I refuse I will be black balled from acting forever" my boss made me do it. There is "I have to pay rent or get evicted tomorrow and my boss offers pay in advance exclusively for sex" my boss made me do it. Finally, there is "if I refuse I might have to apply to one of 100s other employers" my boss made me do it, and I really do believe an adult woman should and does have the agency to refuse that last kind of ultimatum.
The question is, is it better to attack during night in China so Taiwan has a worse reaction time, or during night in USA so Biden has a worse reaction time.
