I hope republicans haven't squandered the moment, instead of passing laws that try to dictate curriculum that teaching will find ways to get around in about 5 seconds they should have used the momentum to pass universal vouchers in every strong red state. Even then, I doubt republicans will have the fortitude to crack the public school system. When schools want more money they'll just stop the busses.

I've commented on this before. I work for a company that's core market is pure Red Tribe. Our headquarters is in a very red state, pre-Trump I am confident that vast majority of executives voted Republican. Execs bought the bailey of wokeness hook, line, and sinker. Wokeness is just being a good moral person and taking action against evil. There is real, malicious racism in much of society and we all have problematic unconscious bias. Fascism is on the rise, we need to take to heart the lessons of World War 2 and never let it happen again. Pride is about not torturing people to death, DEI is not not hiring someone because they are black, or not trying to sleep with a subordinate. They got confused when our pride line went over like a lead balloon, or we host events at organizations that teach CRT. Now think how it all goes at corps where the execs were Democrats or even progressives before Trump's presidency.

In the US, how many people are open-borders advocates?
To take a term already used in this thread de facto vs de jour. Vast majority would not say that they are for "open-borders" but opinion change when there's any kind of filmable enforcement action. "I'm not for open borders but don't do that." Similar to cutting spending, many maybe most want to "cut" federal spending then you give them a list of programs to cut or expand and people in effect want more spending.
I just started playing around with Gemini... I would encourage others too and take screen shots. Looks like they did tweak it since last night and I was able to get a white guy first try when asking for a mid-evil knight without a helmet (I also got a topless Native American with a broadsword) and all white Vikings.
I was trying to generate a space marine and it started throwing a fit when I asked for more of the helmeted marine, not the one with pink hair. Apparently this was exclusionary language and not allowed.
Haven't been able to get an image of the First Thanksgiving.
Asked for an image of a pre-Colombian tribe, no racial diversity there but it did give a bunch of morbidly obese Indians.
Asking for images of people eating fired chicken sets off alarm bells but I did get it to create one and it did even have a black guy eating chicken among a racially and sexually diverse group.

Outside of individuals who should be sentenced to life in prison, is there anyone not entitled to an upper-middle-class life, regardless of their life choices?
You need to define what "worth a damn" means. I haven't compiled what I usually see from leftists regarding what the elderly are entitled to, but once listed out, I'm guessing it's an upper-middle-class standard if you want to live in flyover country or a wealthy one if you want to live in an Alpha++ city.
For younger people, I see:
- Unlimited world-class healthcare.
- At least 40 hours of childcare per week.
- No more than two children per bedroom, and older children should not have to share a room for as many children as you can have.
- A safe, walkable neighborhood within biking distance of the downtown core.
- A workweek of less than 40 hours, although I observe that this number is constantly decreasing. Let's be honest, jobs are optional because means testing is not allowed.
- If you do want a job, then more than 6 weeks of paid vacation.
- At least 3 months of paid parental leave (I've seen people advocating for a year).
- If you do need a vehicle, it should not be a beater.
- High-speed internet.
- A smartphone.
- Free college (should any education be paid for out of pocket?)
Considering that jobs are optional, it seems that everyone is entitled to the life of a trust fund kid.

Like some sort of primitivists? I go with mistake theory, I think it's more that leftism is virtually ignorant of the concept of trade offs. Any negatives are because of a lack of will; just get the right people in power and spend money and we can have zero carbon energy for our dense, walkable, clean, safe, cities.

Left-wing conspiracy theories—or at least this one—have been polished by the mainstream media and intelligentsia. If you engage in a deep discussion disagreeing with this conspiracy theory, you could lose friends, family members, or even your job. It's what you are told to believe and incentivized to believe, so, of course, many are going to accept it. Also, what's so bad about the belief? At worst, you're just sacrificing to help out people who were harmed; your standard of living might drop a little, but it's worth it to alleviate the incredible suffering of others. That there are people who are genocidal towards whites is just a conspiracy theory...

Ralph Yarl is the black teen that was shot outside of Kansas City, Missouri. Early it was reported that he was shot twice in the head but now his family's attorneys are saying that Yarl "shot twice and struck in the head and arm" and Yarl has now been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
The white man in his 80's "was taken into custody on April 13 just before midnight and was released less than two hours later at 1:24 a.m. on April 14."
Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said in a Sunday news conference a “homeowner” was placed on a 24-hour investigation hold following the shooting. After consulting with the Clay County prosecutor’s office, the homeowner was released pending further investigation.
By all accounts I am seeing Ralph Yarl is a band geek which places my heuristic chances of aggression on his part as low. If I found the correct streets the subdivision is one of the last developments before hitting mostly farms and the street names are really confusing with the developer using the same number twice and then alternating between "Street" and "Terrace."
Of course, still waiting on details but in my opinion this could likely be what some people consider to be the quintessential example of a "racist" shooting. If that's the case and the only quibble between Red Tribe and Blue Tribe is if it would have made a difference if the kid was white or black does this story gain a much traction with that little toxoplasma or does it more go the way of the Eric Garner and Philando Castile killings?
