If she can shoot My Third Gandband Orgy (anal edition) legally, she can totally hang out with you if she feels comfortable. If she was 50 years old cougar will you kick her out? It is still 20 years age gap.

This is not tea. This is progressive Kool Aid. If someone hits on her too hard - tell him to cool it off. If she hits on someone - ah whatever - envy and pity the poor bastard.

Would you envy a person stepping on rakes in the rake factory. Shockingly, mentally unstable young women are a proverbial landmine in progressive social milieus. Vulnerable victims whose voice yet rings the loudest, judging all and held to no epistemic standards of evidence. A repudiation it seems from the good conservative milieu where young women are seen, not heard. We ever move in cycles, rejecting that which scarred our generation in its formative years

I can attest: (short version) a spergy self-identified-autistic 30something woman once flirted with me, we kissed several times with no objection from her, then she accepted a ride home from me, whereon I gave her a final kiss and hug before leaving. The next day she was "very upset" with me, being "So Tired of Straight Guys Assuming I'm not Asexual". A year later this had become Sexual Assault.

Now change her age to 18, talk about nightmare fuel as now there are thinly veiled pedo accusations and insinuations that you manipulated this fragile young mind with your degenerate cis-normative white heterosexuality.

Mentally unstable women with no outside social experience are prone to misinterpreting things. I have no desire to include landmines within a group of nerdy autistic adults.

As I said envy and pity.

Conservative venues may not have the same paranoia and fingerpointing, but this is not because young women are seen and not heard(they aren’t)- it’s because casual sex is frowned upon.

What is this place?

This website is a place for people who want to move past shady thinking and test their ideas in a court of people who don't all share the same biases. Our goal is to optimize for light, not heat; this is a group effort, and all commentators are asked to do their part.

The weekly Culture War threads host the most controversial topics and are the most visible aspect of The Motte. However, many other topics are appropriate here. We encourage people to post anything related to science, politics, or philosophy; if in doubt, post!

Why are you called The Motte?

A motte is a stone keep on a raised earthwork common in early medieval fortifications. More pertinently, it's an element in a rhetorical move called a "Motte-and-Bailey", originally identified by philosopher Nicholas Shackel. It describes the tendency in discourse for people to move from a controversial but high value claim to a defensible but less exciting one upon any resistance to the former. He likens this to the medieval fortification, where a desirable land (the bailey) is abandoned when in danger for the more easily defended motte. In Shackel's words, "The Motte represents the defensible but undesired propositions to which one retreats when hard pressed."

On The Motte, always attempt to remain inside your defensible territory, even if you are not being pressed.
