The Wednesday Wellness threads are meant to encourage users to ask for and provide advice and motivation to improve their lives. It isn't intended as a 'containment thread' and any content which could go here could instead be posted in its own thread. You could post:
-
Requests for advice and / or encouragement. On basically any topic and for any scale of problem.
-
Updates to let us know how you are doing. This provides valuable feedback on past advice / encouragement and will hopefully make people feel a little more motivated to follow through. If you want to be reminded to post your update, see the post titled 'update reminders', below.
-
Advice. This can be in response to a request for advice or just something that you think could be generally useful for many people here.
-
Encouragement. Probably best directed at specific users, but if you feel like just encouraging people in general I don't think anyone is going to object. I don't think I really need to say this, but just to be clear; encouragement should have a generally positive tone and not shame people (if people feel that shame might be an effective tool for motivating people, please discuss this so we can form a group consensus on how to use it rather than just trying it).

I'm now on a glp1, as of Tuesday.
End of the summer was rough for my health routines. Lots of bad food, drinking every day, and the one sport I play to stay in shape was just not available. Gained about 15 pounds over the summer, my A1C hit 7, and I'm sure the blood results l be getting back won't have good news.
It was surprisingly easy to get it my doctor had a sample pack on hand. I was in there for a routine physical and walked out with 4 weeks of medicine.
Only had one meal today and didn't feel hungry, or hangry. Side effects apparently peak two days after taking the shot. I'll see how bad it gets, but I'm expecting mild symptoms or at least things that I consider highly tolerable.
My wife seems mildly disappointed in doing it. I want to suggest that she should join me. A couple that sticks together sticks together.
I'm leaning towards doing this. Probably starting out with my GP and then... well doing my research as others have.
Let us know how it goes for you. I'm a keto enjoyer, but I yo-yo when I'm off it.
