“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”

That’s the quote, questioning if a mixed race person is black. OP claiming Trump Is somehow above the mud of dirty politics is laughable.

Less we forget Trump was a huge pusher of the birth certificate claim against Obama. He’s been this way all along.

I think Trump is in trouble vs Harris. Especially if she picks the PA governor as her running mate. Trump is very unpopular but had the benefit of running against someone even more unpopular.

Harris’s current numbers are bad, but I think she has upside once she’s untethered from Biden.

Either way 4 months is a lifetime in election politics and we are in for a wild ride to the finish.

Deregulation to increase housing development feels like the biggest bang for your buck pro growth policy out there.

Just ease the regulations and let private investment handle the rest. Parking may get more difficult for some but to me that’s a fair trade.

This discussion and the “hyper online right wing guys are weird” being a few post from each other is great comedy.

If this guy didn’t want to be called a rapist for the rest of his life he shouldn’t have had sex with a 12 year old. This isn’t hard folks

There is a reason it’s called Build Nothing Britain.

When comparing London to top tier cities in the US it looks like a terrible value. High housings costs but without the comparable salaries (obviously there are people killing it in London but speaking generally).

I have always loved visiting London. It is truly an impressive city with easy access to Europe but hard for me to justify living there vs top US cities.

I feel like the big vibe shift has been the change from pride being about advancing gay rights issues to becoming a marketing term for mega corps to push product.

My cities pride festival had corp sponsorship on the level of the NFL. It also wasn’t clear there was a push for any political stances, just a generic “pride” branding and “love is love” messaging.

My cynical stance is American white women are generally more progressive and also one of the most important consumer demographics. By attaching themselves to “Pride” companies can market themselves to this demographic and virtue signal.

Amazing to describe a bunch of Asians and Indians making $300K+ at Amazon and Microsoft as “incapable of maintaining American civilization.”

Aside from Bezos, Nadella has probably done more than anyone for property values in Seattle in the last 10 years.

The homeless are definitely a problem but it’s more fixable than this mindset of racial division that both you and the DEI people preach.

I meannnnn trump has a $83mm defamation judgement against him and he’s currently claiming that Harris isn’t actually black.

Politics is dirty and Trump loves it in the mud.

I predict we will see more and more of this stuff. Red state governments & AGs are increasingly hostile to DEI and I think there is real legal risk of DEI hiring policies. I’m noticing the vibe shift occurring in corporate America. At my mega corp the most cringe of the DEI initiatives have gone away and sr leadership is no longer emphasizing it.

The wildcard is how a Trump victory might impact this. I could see a world where him winning galvanizes the DEI activists.

If Canada wants CoL to go down they should prioritize building a ton more housing. Seems like a very simple solution, but existing homeowners are a powerful bloc.

Not sure if Canada’s zoning problems are similar to the US but it legit takes years to get projects approved here. Certainly a big driver of lower housing supply.

I think this is tying things into a conspiracy that doesn’t exist.

Bud Light had an advertising campaign aimed at growing their audience (tik tok liberal teenagers) blow up in their face. They then spent a ton of money to try to win back their core audience (young white men). Seems like normal course of business.

Brett Favre (and tons of other celebrities) has appeared in pharma ads. Kelce being in one is hardly surprising.

Neither of these seem at all conspiratorial to me and don’t relate to Trump.

Before the debate disaster it was much closer and 80% of the country thought Biden was too old to be president. Harris shakes that liability and will be able to actually campaign, unlike Biden.

Trump can still win but i believe Harris has a decent shot (unlike post debate Biden).

I’d consider attacking a mixed race person based on their identity well beyond the pale. However this is a forum that vigorously defended a child rapist last week so unsurprised the reaction to Trump’s racism. Lot of weird people here.

A cynical political reading would be the democrats want to be seen as “doing something” on immigration. Immigration is the 1st or 2nd best issue for Trump (along with inflation) so the democrats are trying to paint the republicans as blocking immigration reform in order to please Trump.

I think it might be hard for the GOP to say Newsom did awful in SF/Cali. The tech industry has been so overwhelming successful that I’m sure it gives Gavin plenty of stats that make him look amazing.

Not that he had anything to do with the success of tech, but he will no doubt take credit for growth numbers that are a result of tech.

Your point about being held hostage by a relatively small number is so spot on and is what drives me the most nuts about the homeless situation. There really are not that many problem homeless people out there as a % of the population. If we could just figure out a solution for the very worst hundred to a thousand that would make a massive difference.

Lee fought against America and the statue was put up 60 years after the end of the civil war.

Also very confusing to me how you see Robert E Lee as an American but a statue for “black people” is for foreigners? Calling this a step to genocide is baffling beyond belief.

If the Greeks had full employment for years I bet they would have had recruitment problems as well. The military is a job and right now competing jobs are looking more attractive.

He’s -12 in unfavorable/favorable on 538. It’s an improvement from when he was closer to 60/40, but he’s still very unpopular.

I also think trump is basically at his ceiling as people have very hardened views on him at this point. Was going to be enough to beat Biden but might not be enough to take on someone who isn’t 81.

I think that’s where the current polls are at. However, Harris is going to be able to launch a campaign that benefits from rock bottom expectations.

She could end up not improving her position but I think just based on those low expectations she has upside and it won’t take much of a gain to overtake Trump.

The list in general seems to have a huge Olympics bias with Biles being in the top 10 the most questionable given her 2020 withdrawal.

However I think the worst pick in the top 20 is easily Lewis Hamilton. The car is responsible for way too much in F1 for any driver to be ranked that high.

I didn’t read any further than top 20 so might get worse after that.

Young women are materially more likely to identify as liberal or progressive than young men. Palestine is a huge liberal issue.

I noticed the same thing during BLM, it was almost exclusively women posting about it.

No politics at work is a tried and true Carrer strategy. Limited upside in political arguing and high downside.

I’d imagine Tinky Winky was balanced out by Budweiser ads.

If I had to guess the boys who grew up gay did it because they were sexually attracted to men. Representation in media may make them more comfortable to “come out” and live as openly gay, but personally doubt it impacts their sexual preference.

Honestly the donors probably love this. Anything to paint the other side as anti gay bigots likely plays well.
