I always heard teenage boys were the biggest driver of movie theater ticket sales. The juggernauts of MCU and fast and the furious franchise would certainly point in that direction.

Amazing to describe a bunch of Asians and Indians making $300K+ at Amazon and Microsoft as “incapable of maintaining American civilization.”

Aside from Bezos, Nadella has probably done more than anyone for property values in Seattle in the last 10 years.

The homeless are definitely a problem but it’s more fixable than this mindset of racial division that both you and the DEI people preach.

Your point about being held hostage by a relatively small number is so spot on and is what drives me the most nuts about the homeless situation. There really are not that many problem homeless people out there as a % of the population. If we could just figure out a solution for the very worst hundred to a thousand that would make a massive difference.

The red tribe still has significant political power. Especially in state legislatures where they are not afraid to flex their power to do things like ban abortion.

Very curious who he will borrow from to pay. My guess would be Arab oil money, but I’m not sure how broad the definition of “registered in New York” is.

Nationally support is over 70% for gay marriage. Obviously differs by state but the opinion of the country is clearly on the side of allowing gay marriage.

Which of those states do you think wouldn’t pass it? Gay marriage has over 70% support nationally and it seems to me there is no organized opposition to it. This is all a hypothetical exercise but I think it would pass fairly easily.

I disagree completely. There might be 1-2 states who would try to ban it (even then I think they would approve “civil unions”) but think you easily get to 38 who would pass it and call it marriage.

Absolutely, Biden won 25 states. To get to 38 you add in IN OH MO KS IA NE TX FL NV NC TN KY AK and those are just the easiest ones. I honestly think it would pass easily. Is there serious opposition to gay marriage left in America?

If gay marriage was seriously threatened/thrown out by SCOTUS I could see an amendment passing to ensure certain states don’t try and ban it.

If the Greeks had full employment for years I bet they would have had recruitment problems as well. The military is a job and right now competing jobs are looking more attractive.

I think a poor kid from Central America will probably do the same as a poor kid from Texas who is joining to get free college.

I feel like military service for citizenship isn’t a bad trade at all. Presumably the military is a strong enough insinuation to integrate all types of people. Additionally, someone willing to spend years in the military is likely someone we would want to keep in the country.

Allowing individuals to built multi family on their private property is hardly demanding someone builds a house.

Happy for you that you have no desire to leave the land of your ancestors but many people do and we should have land use policies that allow for building.

Some of us have children and growth is great for a nation.

Unless you were on the Mayflower there is a pretty good chance you were not the first person to live in your city.

If Canada wants CoL to go down they should prioritize building a ton more housing. Seems like a very simple solution, but existing homeowners are a powerful bloc.

Not sure if Canada’s zoning problems are similar to the US but it legit takes years to get projects approved here. Certainly a big driver of lower housing supply.

I feel like attacking polling methodology is a pretty bipartisan pastime and isn’t surprising at all to me that it’s happening in the comments section.

We had multiple threads on here with challenges to official inflation data so unsure why polling wouldn’t be challenged.

Well it’s also weird that the statues were erected decades after the war ended. The Confederacy lost too fast to put up monuments to their glory while they existed.

He was in a senior leadership position. This wasn’t some rank and file conscript grunt just following orders.

IMO it’s even worse that he could have chosen the Union but decided to fight to keep race based slavery alive as an institution in his home state. The man is the opposite of an American hero.

Ignoring the racism it’s interesting you consider literal traitors to America to be worthy of statues. Lee didn’t “consider himself to be apart of the same nation” if you recall a rather significant event in his history.

Lee fought against America and the statue was put up 60 years after the end of the civil war.

Also very confusing to me how you see Robert E Lee as an American but a statue for “black people” is for foreigners? Calling this a step to genocide is baffling beyond belief.

Well just this morning I was “told” about 22 more people killed in a mass shooting. The police and CCW holders may have stopped “plenty”, but I think the idea that US gun owners could stop a Hamas attack to be a pure fantasy.

Even with the US armed to the teeth we unfortunately can’t seem to stop mass shooters. In fact the deadliest shooting in the US was one man firing into a music festival into the busiest tourist area in the country. Think this is a very hard problem to solve if the shooters are motivated enough.

I would guess most of them (assuming US college kids) don’t know either the river or the sea they are talking about.

Pax Americana has worked out really well for China so far. Maybe they like getting richer and richer in the current system.
