What's your Halloween candy kryptonite?
Mine is usually Reese's peanut butter cups or similar chocolate/PB garbage. I went over to a friend's house last night to help pass out candy (they live in a neighborhood that gets hundreds of kids trick or treating) and through superhuman effort managed to not eat any Reeses (or much of anything else). Finally, a win over the appalling sweet tooth.
I will absolutely inhale butterfingers if they are around. Luckily candy is hella expensive and I don't buy it or have it around

Nerds, by a mile. The texture of crushing 50 million little pebbles plus the super intense sour/sweet is entirely irreplicable. Also, props to their food scientists for inventing the abomination of Gummy Clusters, they're genuinely innovative imo.
I realize this might be unpopular, but chocolate is bottom tier for me unless it's really rich. Hershey's has cut too many corners lately.

Dots. I never get them any other time, but all of the ones in the variety packs I buy to hand out and whatever my kids bring home are ruthlessly consumed by the Daddy Tax.

Reese's used to be awesome but it's all so much slop now. Even the scion of the family has written about it in protest.
If you want good ones, at this point it's Mr. Beast or other specialty brands.
The YouTuber?
Yeah he has a great line of actual quality chocolate products.

Probably, he sells a ton of consumer goods using the brand he built (essentially there's always a tiny chance you'll win some large prize).

Peanut butter m&ms are mine!
I always forget that peanut butter M&Ms exist. Usually because they don't exist within 10 feet of me for more than 30 seconds.
Yeah, I try to forget they exist for the same reason!

Peanut butter cups are GOAT, though I'll throw in an honorary mention for Take 5s and (perhaps relatively niche) chocolate-covered Paydays.
I am very partial to regular Paydays, but more for hiking, cycling, and so forth--melt-resistant, not so strongly flavored as to fatigue the palate but still tasty and with some agreeable textures, king size is just about right--but I would not consider them outstanding specifically as Halloween candy.
I don't think I've seen those in mixed bags sold for Halloween. I like them for hiking as a change from all the Snickers variants I usually carry.

PBC’s as well. Always thought it was strange that my father loved Almond Joy’s (I hated them), and my sibling liked Snickers (I don’t like things with nuts). They also were big breakfast eaters in the morning (I almost never was), we were all big dinner people and I was a big dessert guy (they weren’t, save for my mother’s love of baking). Might contribute some part in explaining why I love Halloween so much.

Reese's is top tier. York and Butterfinger are also excellent. I'd actually put Heath bars pretty near the top, but nobody tends to buy those.
Good point. My friend had bought piles of mixed bags from Costco but none had Heath bars in them. I don't know if I could've resisted those.
