My guess is that teachers find it much more enjoyable to teach using whole language compared to phonics, and so our non-consumer based public school system mostly uses whole language instruction.

Katie Hobbs, the Dem candidate for governor in Arizona, is the current Secretary of State of Arizona and so is in charge of administering the election. I'm guessing lots of voters are going to be turned off of Hobbs because of this election screwup. Hobbs's opponent is ultra-MAGA so-called election denier Kari Lake who won the Republican primary in part with the help of Democrats who believed that Lake would be a weak candidate. Lake has turned out to have lots of charisma and is skilled at going on the offensive so if she wins should would be an obvious choice for the Republican Vice Presidential nominee.
Warning Spoilers: Who the real father of the king's daughter's children is and appears to be is a key plot point. In the show the real father is white, while the guy who is supposed to be the father is black so it's extremely obvious to everyone what is going on. The king ignoring what is going on makes him either a fool or someone playing a deep game where pretending can make something real if you are the king. While I haven't read the book, someone who has says that in the book both men are white and people infer what is going on from less obvious phenotypical features. Mathematically, the race change makes its 99.99% likely in the show that the kids are bastards but, say, 95% likely in the books and the plot of the show does reflect this extra 4.99% likelihood. The race change also makes it extremely salient to we the viewers that the kids are bastards.

We can't imagine what a 200 IQ genius would be like. Imagine a group of 8-year-olds had you locked in a jail cell and were told if they let you out you would kill them. Do you think you could eventually convince the kids to release you? Also, there will be a line of humans trying to help the 200 IQ genius out of the tank.

I would rather a rule that before posting anything lengthy you have to put it into ChatGPT with a prompt of something like "rewrite this to make it clearer and more concise" to see if ChatGPT can improve your writing. Of course, don't automatically go with whatever GPT gives you as we are at least a year away from that level of reliability.

True, but Ukraine could likely kill much of the Russian population. Ukrainian scientists worked alongside Russian scientists in Soviet biological and nuclear weapons programs. Good chance that Ukraine has working nuclear weapons, and it either has or could easier get working biological weapons.
