Using this purely subjective criteria and having ideologically motivated DEI employees judge people based on it, what is the outcome?
Not to mention how very flexible "group" will become when motivated people use it. "Race is a social construct" when certain races might plausibly benefit. Awarding racial spoils is very important and in fact morally required when other races might benefit. The same person will effortlessly push for both points simultaneously without any sense of contradiction.

This is my actual view on La Raza. They are held in some esteem. Respectable ethnically Hispanic Americans visit La Raza meetings and give speeches. I've seen large public murals saying "La Raza".
In my opinion La Raza is the Mexican-American KKK. They are hard-core racists who just happen to be partly-not-white so they get a pass.

Well, he was radicalized by things like church youth dances. Truly the most chaste and proper monitored mingling opportunities for young adults. Sayyid was of course horrified and disgusted by women in long skirts dancing with men who belong to church social clubs. But I don't think that acceptance of homosexuality was on anyone's agenda among these people.

I read The Picture of Dorian Gray maybe 15 years ago. I recall it being equal parts boring and pointless.
Edit: Below someone says it made a big impression on them. I guess it really shows different strokes for different folks. What a waste of paper and my time that book was.
In 1948 or 1949 he attended a church social in Greeley, Colorado. Here are his thoughts:
The dance hall was illuminated with red, blue and a few white lights. It convulsed to the tunes of the gramophone and was full of bounding feet and seductive legs. Arms circled waists, lips met lips, chests met chests, and the atmosphere was full of passion.
Which is a less disgusted and condemning than I recalled. But anyways, it is silly that he thinks a 1940s American church social "convulsed" with "seductive passion". He spent the rest of his life bitterly complaining about all aspects of American culture and saying that opposition to all white people must be the cornerstone of the Egyptian nationalist movement.

Points taken, but the definition of "groomer" has recently expanded to cover activities that are not sexually grooming children. So I'm going to say a taboo would be valuable.
Is someone claiming that an adult is preparing a child for an illegal sexual relationship or are they claiming that somehow LGBT material is being discussed? These are two very different things.

Well... FUCK MATLAB that's why.
I've been trying to get this point across to some of my coworkers. A few don't get it.
We aren't real software devs. We are engineers who need to process a lot of simulated and measured data. Half of us use python and half use matlab.
I try to say that python is in every way more capable than matlab and not locked behind a paid license. If you had to extend a script to include automation or something, python is ready for you. It is also free so if you had to put your scripts on one of the off network Linux machines in the lab, python would work just fine.
Using python in Spyder has all the benefits of matlab, for people who love that UI. Which I actually really do. But now I have a free portable version of my code that isn't locked behind a matlab license. Why are we paying them and locking our code out of the lab computers when the free and more capable alternative exists? It isn't like we are using LabView or some other matlab specific tool.
But these people are used to matlab and so half the time when I get someone else's code it is matlab. And so half the time I get to code in matlab. And the other teams use python almost exclusively, so it is just us leaning hard on matlab for no reason.
I won't even bother complaining about matlab's actual flaws here. Indexing from 1. Running out of memory when dealing with moderately large data sets, requiring lots of needless clearing of variables or matlab specific workarounds to their memory limitation bullshit that has nothing to do with hardware limitations. Hiding basic functionality behind paid toolboxes that each need a different license. Etc. Etc.
She has made some spicy statements about how horrible America is, but is a well paid weed smoking lesbian. She should have had a bit of perspective about how very well she has it in the US compared to almost anywhere else. I’m not happy that they found a reason to punish an American. But given her anti-American statements, I can see how some people are feeling schadenfreude.
