When they go after Home Depot lady they are going after essentially their own people. Those not smart enough to have perfect grace on knowing what memes are appropriate at a given time.
I am all for canceling Bud Light and over educated Bud Light marketing VP but attacking the working class is just wrong. It’s not in the best interest of the right.

I do not believe this is a charitable take at all. While some people as you describe “ anger, bloodlust, and sadism, not by any beautiful or noble feelings.”
I consider it a viable political strategy. It’s downstream of how states have always been made. You forcefeed your state’s founding memes on school children in your public schools. You force people to learn a common tongue. You promote families by slut shaming and in the past removing from the rest of society the young girls who got pregnant.
Enforcing cultural norms is basic civilization building.
I think some on the left did canceling for fun, but I do think many of them thought what they were doing was for the good of society. I think it’s obvious the right canceling corporations has had a positive effect on society.

I think it turns into a crime if you make it a business record. If you say it on Skype where it is recorded then it’s part of the business record. If it’s a lie then it’s falsified. I don’t think in the statute it says it needs to be relevant to operations. But it would be a falsified record about the business. You described an employee who is ugly as beautiful which is false.

The post liberal caeser types by your definition of moderate I believe they are moderate. Vance has said he wouldn’t have counted the 2020 vote and wants to dismantle the beaucracy. You know from his background that he’s well thought out both camps. It is in his lived experience from where he grew up to having had very leftist friends at Yale. Which is far different that some who grew up on the UES and went to Yale law. He has clearly been a card carrying member of both tribes.
The fact you used the Caeserist types those are probably the most moderate because those tend to be some of the most well read people on the political map. Who have read and thought about everything.
I don’t think the conventional definition of radical versus moderate is unrelated to political positions.
I feel like most people would consider Peter Thiel, Yarvin, Hanania as radical right, but they all feel like moderates to me by the way you define moderate. I use the word grey tribe for these types.
Without more knowledge on your beliefs you sound like a radical right grey triber based on being anti-gay marriage.

He is Mr. Big in Sex and the City in his values. He’s a Nazi without the killing the Jews. A national socialist. I think he is on the path to a VAT in America to support social benefits. For that reason I don’t know if I like him. But national socialism is very popular with the voting base. Value wise he’s Mr. Big with a much bigger personality.

Centrism is only good if the center is good. A centrist was pro-Hitler, pro-Stalin, pro-Mao, pro-FDR, pro-Reagan, pro-war on drugs, pro-mass incarceration, pro-Iraq War, pro-KKK, extremely racists, extremely reverse racism. They were likely pro a lot of things I would consider good too.
It’s an intellectually lazy philosophy of not taking the time to think thru an issue and form an opinion. A lot of the time you are not able to form a wise opinion so it gets tough. Being pro-Iraq war seems reasonable then because Cheney did some so CIA games and laundered false intel to the American people that you couldn’t verify.
Centrism is just assuming the current Overton window is correct. But the Overton window moves and thus makes a centrists opinion incompatible with views a centrist would have had just a few short years ago.
If the SS can’t do basic communications and planning then it tells me that our enemies can assassinate the US POTUS at any time assuming they can find one competent guy willing to die for the cause.
Just show up as a plain clothes guy with a gun or sniper rifle. Print up a couple badges one for the local police and one for the SS. If the local police ask you question tell them your SS and vice versa. Basic Michael Weston spy craft but dumbed down a lot to a guy with 6 months training level. That was suppose to be a tv show.
The one thing I do love about all of this is Project 2025 has credibility now. Our institutions are failing. The Fed took 18 months to figure out inflation was too much money. The military bungled leaving Afghanistan. Universities are led by Hamas (half joking but leadership has sympathies), the SS is incompetent, Fauci told America cloth masks stop viruses. I could rant forever but it’s increasingly clear that the top 10-40k of our beauracracy needs replaced. It’s not just that they are anti-Trump. They are not good at their jobs and need replaced.
Biden hasn’t even fired the head of the SS which would make him look good.

I’ve been saying this for a few years. Free speech is a fiction once speech becomes a real threat to the power.
The young in America had been taken in by Hamas thought. For the Jews does it make sense to suppress the speech or let it continue to spread? And Holocaust 2 occurs. It’s unquestionable that you suppress speech in that situation.
If you have a culture that is 80-90% heavily supported and secure in its power then free speech is a nice thing. Having 10-20% of weirdos in the population talk about other ideas isn’t a threat to the regime.
I realized a while ago that I supported Pinochet. His economic regime made Chile the richest country in the region. His regime faced a legitimate communists threat.
If my choice is suppress free speech or my country becomes a communists hell hole then it’s an easy decision for me.
My thoughts on firing HD lady are changing today. I guess people like her vote and provide cover for the elites. Perhaps it’s a good thing to get the message to people like her what is the appropriate way to think by firing a couple foot soldiers.

This just feels like how I described centrism. Apolitical. Lack of vision. Just taking center of Overton window.
I know Trump is described as a radical rightist. His political views though are largely to the left of Bill Clinton. He favors less mass incarceration. He’s pro-choice (though aligned with Pro-Life judges), he’s pro gay marriage. He’s largely anti-market - trade protectionism. The current right largely backs ‘90s style race relations.
Politics is a real thing. It effects people’s lives. It’s very important to national and personal success. I just played basketball with a few Venezuelans. It matters. They are living in a foreign land because politics were bad at home.
The thing about centrists is they actually encourage Overton window pushing. If 60% of voters are just going to vote for the middle of the Overton window then the correct strategy is to push the Overton window wide. And then the median view comes closer to where you want it.
Take abortion as an issue. Right now the Overton window has one it’s right ban abortion. On its left abortion till 9 months. The centrist position is basically 16 weeks and then banned. If my goal is to ban abortion I need to get discussing the negatives of birth control into the public conscience as a respectable position. Then the centrist position becomes ban abortion.
The left did this with gay marriage. They made pronouns and gender surgery for kids into the Overton window. Now nobody questions gay marriage when in 2005 it was not passable as legislation.
If you had a hard view of abortion after 16 months is bad then if my side pushed to ban birth control then the right would lose elections. Instead centrism makes polarization beneficial because moving the Overton window moves the centrist position.

Winning and crushing your enemies makes peace. I am not sure if a country can have two roughly equally matched cultures. It’s probably clear at this point it’s the only solution.
A key to winning will be getting the Jews on board. They dominate media and the influencer space. Democrats mistake with Hamas helps a lot on this front.
I don’t support going after Home Depot lady. She would have fallen inline once a dominate culture emerges.

I think this is a very good marginal revolution posts. My personal journey I never abandoned him after 1/6 but always preferred Desantis. I actually liked 1/6 and thought the right needed a proper riot after the gaslighting on peaceful protests.

Anyone with an ounce of political instincts realized lawfare against Trump meant the GOP needed to unite around Trump. That killed Desantis. Desantis with Trump removed by lawfare without winning at the ballot box would lose the maga vote which meant a Dem landslide.

The Jews. I think I can fairly say they control 35-50% of our media. Political social media influencers on both sides have similar numbers. The pro-Hamas part of the left should scare the shit out of them. And Trump has come out very supportive of the Jewish community. Vibes do matter. People want to fit in with their tribe. If the vibe is Trump bad then they will say Trump bad. If the vibe is Trump good and their suppose to support him they will.
For the GOP the vibes at the convention feels like happy people. The Dems don’t feel like that right now.
As a lesser point Cowen called Trump a comedian and a very good one. It seems like a lot of politicians now are comedians. Milei, Zelensky, Trump, Boris Johnson.

This feels like a right-wing talking point to damage the lefts brand of being for Democracy. Biden dropping out today is a proper response. The crime here is not that Biden is dropping out today it’s the cover-up for atleast the past 6 months.
Dictators have a long history of being great. It all depends on the world you find yourself in and the situation of those to be governed.
Now I think a Republic was correct for the people of the early United States this is not the situation most countries find themselves in. The most extreme form of Democracy probably won’t work in sub-Saharan Africa. War time Ukraine is likely better with less democracy.
Of course I can fairly obviously state that you yourself are not in favor of Democracy. I’ve yet to meet one person in favor of one world government where the votes of Africa, China, India would absolutely crush the votes from the people of western governments. The more you think about Democracy the more you realize it’s not the core American feature and never could be.

I feel like this is weak writing by Scott especially for a psychologists. Actions/behaviors change before beliefs. “Wr are what we repeatedly do” - said by some famous philosopher.
Enforcing social norms will eventually change beliefs to your side. This is basic civilizing of barbarians.
Scott’s central point that nobody learns anything useful from persecution feels wrong to me. I would like to live in Scott’s world of principle libertarianism and debating society but unfortunately I think our tribal instincts for bloodlust are likely correct.
You don’t end a cultural civil war by being nice to the other side. When your side is in power you enforce new cultural norms and hope they stick.
I think he is fundamentally wrong that people don’t learn anything from being persecuted. HD lady will learn that she has the wrong memes. And then if you do it correctly accept your memes as correct. Starve or learn new memes.

We have some of those arguments here. Kamala (and Obama) not being ADOS has been well litigated here.
It is actually an interesting question why blacks in some areas seem to rise up faster than ADOS (Nigeria is mostly just a bigger filter). Kamala’s though is Tamil Brahmin class Indian elite married to an Askenazi Jew. Ethnically she has nothing in common in ADOS.

All the ended up being unimportant as the end point of the pandemic was everyone gets some natural immunity.
The big difference between the entire town locks themselves in a basement and plays twister for 48 hours and everyone always maintains 6’ of difference is the twister playing people all get covid the first week and the 6’ people it takes 3 months for the entire town to be infected.
(Of course there were reasons to delay infection early for hospital capacity and waiting for vaccines but the true end point was everyone gets it)

If the guys smart enough to understand a Bloomberg then he’s also smart enough to understand there is no relationship with blackrock other than blackrock making 10 bps on some etfs they put in client accounts. They are actually saying that BlackRock owns this firm.
