I think that something as significant as consciousness should not be imposed on matter (the person before they gain consciousness) without consent, and as a non-conscious person cannot give consent, being born is inherently done without consent.
In addition, as a negative utilitarian, I wish for suffering to be reduced as much as possible. If abortion were mandatory for pregnant women, no new people would be born, and thus no new people would experience suffering. If no new people are born, humanity will end and thus human suffering will end. This would require no deaths of people already in existence, it would simply prevent new people from coming into existence. Over time, resources would become more plentiful, another benefit of this method.

After that 1 year you can refinance and hypothetically reuse the VA home loan, though this will depend on your current debt-to-income ratio. If reliably making income from tenants, shouldn't be a problem to do round 2 and round 3 isn't impossible. After 4 years active duty, try to go for irr or reserve over guard.
Then get a Commercial Driver's License to drive 18 wheel trucks, possibly a security clearance, and get a small business administration loan to buy an 18 wheeler yourself to become an Over The Road Owner-Operator. As an Owner Operator, your actual take home pay will be substantially less than your listed income- it's not atypical for a 400-500k income Owner Operator to take home more like 150-200. But this takes us back to VA home loans and debt-to-income ratios, where the math they're doing doesn't actually take this into account. And also that some of the shittiest parts of trucking are sleeping in the truck cab or a seedy motel. You could strategically buy places such that you would rarely be that far from one.
If you found an insane spouse who agreed with this way of doing things, you could easily have around 40-60 residential units together after 12 years, with a fair number of them having mortgages paid off. Discounting Russia, it's definitely the largest (googling provides 800k-900k troops vs closer to 200k each for France, Germany, Poland, Italy) and surely has the most combat veterans. Via aid, it's got a hodge-podge of tech and equipment but some of that stuff is advanced and high quality. Morale may be all over the place, but they've held on far far longer and better than most expected.

To "egg on" is to encourage a person to do something to their detriment. If I said "I think you could beat up that silverback gorilla, jump into the pit, thump your chest and smile to let him know you mean business" that would be me egging you on.

One of my mom's best friends was a sorority mom at Bama from ~2010-2020. Happy to forward her any questions I can't answer myself. I graduated from Bama around 10 years ago, but like George_E_Hale did not join a frat. He mentions The Machine, which is very interesting if you're into Alabama politics. I haven't seen any comment mentioning test banks of xeroxed/scanned copies of tests, notes, assignments of previous students- this would have actually interested me at the time. Dark grey moral choice in a previous era of education, but probably light grey at this point.


As far as the conservative Christian father's concerns about paying a shitload of money to put his daughter in this environment, being a promiscuous alcoholic drug addict dropout is trivially easy for any American woman over the age of 16 or so. When I was an angsty 15 year old I punched through some drywall in the hallway going to my bedroom because mom made me keep going to school (as opposed to homeschooling). She hung up the image of a Bishop giving the sign of blessing over the hole, which wasn't repaired until I went to college. To this day the gesture inspires complicated emotions for me, because I do have a capacity for pointless and irrational destruction, I was still actually right if inarticulate about the particular school being a horrible environment for me, she genuinely did want what was best, that Grace in the Christian sense is something given to those who don't deserve it, that she and others would try to manipulate me in this way or that.
