Just do something to mix up the intensity. Any program where you go from lighter to heavier over time and then back off will work. The main problem with SL5x5 (and other linear programs) is that you never back off. But it works great as long as you can keep up.

Rust is completely unsuited for systems-level programming. It was designed to build web browsers, and it's great at that. But it simply does not have the ability to properly manage memory, and all its idioms encourage wasteful allocations and superfluous copies.
The addition of rust to Linux was done by entriests, and will degrade the quality and readability of code. (Monolithic) kernels should be written in a single language.

and when someone talks about modern celebrity culture, you can talk about how everything really went downhill after Fatty Arbuckle was fingered for raping a girl to death.
Arbuckle was the defendant in three widely publicized trials between November 1921 and April 1922 for the rape and manslaughter of actress Virginia Rappe. Rappe had fallen ill at a party hosted by Arbuckle at San Francisco's St. Francis Hotel in September 1921, and died four days later. A friend of Rappe accused Arbuckle of raping and accidentally killing her. The first two trials resulted in hung juries, but the third trial acquitted Arbuckle. The third jury took the unusual step of giving Arbuckle a written statement of apology for his treatment by the justice system.
Talk about nominative determinism. But also what an ordeal.
Acquittal is not enough for Roscoe Arbuckle. We feel that a great injustice has been done him. We feel also that it was only our plain duty to give him this exoneration, under the evidence, for there was not the slightest proof adduced to connect him in any way with the commission of a crime. He was manly throughout the case and told a straightforward story on the witness stand, which we all believed. The happening at the hotel was an unfortunate affair for which Arbuckle, so the evidence shows, was in no way responsible. We wish him success and hope that the American people will take the judgment of fourteen men and woman who have sat listening for thirty-one days to evidence, that Roscoe Arbuckle is entirely innocent and free from all blame.

In 1900, Europe was already quite far into the industrial revolution, and was enjoying the benefits of improved nutrition, reduction in disease, and booming economic growth. This allowed their population to baloon, and do so before the rest of the world, which had not yet adopted European technologies and institutions. When the rest of the world did so, they also had a population boom.

Recruitment pitch to all of you young programmers stuck in FAANG limbo- go look outside to those clunky old manufacturing, transportation, energy, and industrial companies. They are desperate for good embedded systems engineers, and you can do some fantastically cool shit that will actually make measurable differences in the average person's life.
It's also possible to work in embedded at a contractor where nothing you do will have any impact on anyone outside the company and their direct customers :)

Purchased 30 acres of land and built a house several years back in central Florida, had a driveway installed that cuts across the center of my property allowing me to exit on either of two main roads.
I now have traffic using my driveway as a shortcut between the two roads up to and including 18 wheelers and other large vehicles since using my driveway cuts off nearly half an hour of travel time between two cities.

I usually exhale after having passed the sticking point in leg exercises. When I am not paying attention to it (such as if I am otherwise preoccupied by lifting something heavy), this may result in a grunt. I don't really mind if other people grunt as long as they don't count out loud.

The main exception I have to this is if there's meta-progression, like in Roguelites, or like Dead Rising.
IMO most roguelites would be better if everything was unlocked from the start and there was no meta-progression. None of this "Wow, looks like you're having a great run but this next area was tuned for people who've unlocked way more stuff so you're probably going to die anyway. Tough luck, I guess you should have died 20 times before having a good run."

Which sort of begs the question: how in the world do volunteer fire departments exist, especially when there are non-volunteer departments in the same area? Don't they get tired of showing up to calls where someone had a heart attack and so in addition to an ambulance the fire department has to show up too for whatever reason? And how do they even find the time? They all have to work full time, and firefighters presumable skew young and without passive income.
There's a big difference between being thin by choice, and being thin because of malnourishment. This says much more about nutrition than beauty standards.
