Even if I agreed that the decision of large corporations to raceswap well known characters was only made for cynical reasons, isn't that too human?
Race based discrimination is also human, but I dislike it. Especially when it goes against myself.
And raceswaps done by large corporations are curiously oneway and match propaganda of my enemies (that positioned themself on their own). I am not interested in race based culture wars but I dislike surrendering even more, so if someone declared themself to be my enemy....
Reminds me about that law banning leaving trace amounts of sesame (?), even with warning on packaging. Intended to be help for people deathly allergic to it. Deliberate inclusion of sesame remained legal.
Resulting in producers starting to add sesame deliberately. Impacting people with allergy but capable of eating products that had just traces of it.

Worth noting that at this scale many things happened. And it is hard to distinguish between "something unique happened single time and we have proof of it" and "something is happening routinely, intentionally and ordered".
There is difference between "single specific soldier was summarily executed for disobeying orders" and "anyone who retreats is executed", with wide variety of stuff between.
The same goes for many different things.

Trains were programmed to falsely report being broken down after specific date, or after specific number of mileage or after being repaired at repair yards run by competition.
This was not documented, Newag lied about it when asked and continues to lie.

First is likely true but of limited practicality as we are unlikely to ever interact, for second we have no strong evidence for that.
We have evidence that they observed UFOs. This is entirely normal as in "it is normal to fail to identify some flying objects". But software bug, visual artefact, commercial plane are all more likely than literal aliens. Widespread conspiracy is more likely than aliens.
Show me investigation(s) by say USA, China, Germany, Russia (feel free to switch Germany to UK, France or something, and Russia for Iran or similar) and then I will treat it seriously. Or at least official announcement by USA president about aliens, not mumbling by some faction. Then I can treat it seriously.

And there is only so much that I will spend on arguing with handle abbreviated to SS about holocaust denial. It can be sort of interesting but only in low doses. (the same goes for other witchy topics)
Many other topics seems to be equally witchy in noninteresting way, where I have no competence or interest or are extremely USA-specific in a boring way.
And when something is on topic, it is often of so low quality that it is eyerolling.

The idea is that the IRS is so small and incompetent that they basically won't do anything against this sort of passive resistance.

And this indicates that you need to restructure your life, give up passport, lower income AND hope that IRS will stay incompetent and will not use its power to seize what you owe. And maybe also put into prison.

So far they have not revoked my passport.
BTW, given "Last year, when another year of my tax debt became uncollectible due to the statute of limitations" it seems that IRS funding really should be increased.

(3) Most of these other things (railroad stations, parks, apartment buildings) are not worth building beautifully because public administration is unwilling and/or unable to patrol and enforce order in public spaces, and the populace does not recognize public order as a goal worth pursuing and personally-enacting. No one in history really conceived of a level of self-control that would permit you to be alone with an attractive young woman for an extended period of time.
This is complete bullshit. While "The most well-trained monk was still barred from being alone with a nun." type of rules exist because people designing such institution have seen fit to avoid obvious temptations, this temptations can be in fact resisted.

Why does Ukraine fighting Russia advance European interests? It hurts European interests, Russia is Europe's natural energy supplier.
Because Russia is stupid and instead extracting piles of money from being energy supplier they decided to wage short victorious war.
Because ruling class and society in general there was unable to accept its loss of superpower status.
For other European countries it is preferable for this adventure to go badly for Russia so they will not try it with NATO countries next time.
The mainstream argument seems to be 'Europe needs to produce more weapons to give to Ukraine so they can fight Russia'. But why?
