The issue here and where the anti-immigration people will fundamentally disagree with you is you assume the issue with immigrants is mostly cultural assimilation and not biological assimilation. It’s assuming if you suppress minority culture they will turn into good Protestant Americans. Biological assimilation is still possible but requires even more extreme measures. Germany is quite dull today. We wiped out an entire generation of their fighting men. Central America similar went thru a big filter with the Spanish. I believe England was executing something like 1% of their lower class for a long time. One theory of Ashkenazi is the ethnicity faced strong selection pressure for entering the merchant class and thus selecting for IQ. There are processes to biologically assimilate a people, but in the modern world that is an order of magnitude more extreme. The U.S. too this day has failed to assimilate the African American population.
Genetic engineering could be a potential solution in the near future.

I honestly think in 20-30 years Europe has a very good chance of radicalizing. At some point the costs of immigration will be too high for the college educated living in expensive neighbors not to notice the issues.
Then again San Francisco exists so perhaps I am wrong.
Honestly if I were a billionaire the best way to turn people against immigration is probably funding programs sending elites to study in different areas. And notice the different quality of life in high and low trust societies. Then some gentle nudges discussing why that is so.

Europe is worse off not primarily because they are worse at integrating but because they get a worse quality of immigrant. They get primarily sub-Saharan Africa and Arabs. To date only sort of Iraq has been able to maintain law and order in the Arab world without a dictator with no problem using violence.
Immigration is likely still a net negative for America but I would be far more radical if I were in Europe.
Flights are also getting cheaper. And NGO’s more sophisticated that in the near future we might get European quality of illegals. We are already seeing Chinese etc flying into Latin America, burning there passports, and claiming asylum. And since China won’t take them back since they are aware who they are they suddenly have real asylum claims.
Like I said he was using an App - either Uber or Google maps. And the crowd happened to be there when he turned.
I just follow the directions my gps tells me to do. It wasn’t his choice to drive into the crowd.

I think it’s completely irrational to think people can be experts in everything.
There is a reason why professionals exists in a lot of industries. A lot of people are not market experts. So financial advisors exists. A lot of people are not trained in law so lawyers exists. A lot of people don’t know fashion. So if a guy needs to find a wife he can hire an advisor. Many people can’t cook. So chefs exists. And many people (even more so now) outsource directions to apps. Instead of tying up prescious memory in your mind.
Likewise we hire police for a reason. Maybe they can be allowed to keep protestors out of the roads?
It seems impossible and unproductive to expect individuals to be experts everywhere at all the time in this world.
I will stick to blaming Joe Biden and Kamela Harris for backing this sort of behavior.

I think it’s too far to actually convict and sentence on felony murder. But a credible threat for future similar actions seems appropriate.
Legally this does feel like textbook felony murder. That being said it would still be the first time felony murder was used on this sort of case.
I am assuming the State can’t being the charges and the local DA’s would not.

I don’t think you can make a legal argument that it wasn’t self defense. But I do think reading the room would tell Perry that it was cosplay.
Do you have a source for vehicles being fired upon? I don’t know of any of these where they randomly killed some guy driving. Annoyed them yes. Delayed them yes.

The issue with this is Perry probably did just see the chance and killed him for fun. It’s just that the victim was shitting on the commons to an extent that he opened the door for someone to kill him because he didn’t like the victim.
Perry likely knew that the victim was cosplaying revolutionary and wasn’t going to execute him at any high non-neglible probability.
In ordinary life when someone exposes themselves that you can do something bad to them and get away with it we usually choose not to do something bad to them. In this case the victim broke public trust to an extent that people are less forgiving. He paid the asshole tax.

U-Visas, or Visas for illegals who suffered violent crime in the U.S. has recently come into the news as a gang in Chicago did fake robberies to help illegals get U-Visas. The program was originally designed to help sex trafficking victims. But had already expanded.

Leftist piece detailing two Chicago cops who were known for denying U-Visa claims. One case in particular caught my eye of an illegals son being murdered in Chicago and then using it to apply the entire family for U-Visas. Basically if you let the gangbanging families into the country eventually junior gets killed and everyone is legal. A lot of the cases sound like antisocial illegal behavior making them eligible for getting U-Visas.
What started out as a nice way to help sex-trafficking victims then turned into a whole institution for getting immigrants legal. And then it turned into let’s just fake the crimes.
Of course this is a prime example of perverse incentives and the cobra effect. Once you start measuring something people find a way to get the incentive in a way that does not accomplish your goal.
It’s also an indicator for why America is becoming a low trust society. As a Republican I see no reason to ever compromise with the left. If you try to do something reasonable like U-Visas or Asylum or money for terrorist attack victims (turning into massive student loan relief) the left will abuse your reasonableness.
It’s also why the right with some help from Trump was wise to shutdown the immigration bill. That which is written on paper isn’t important. It will be abused. Controlling the executive, beauraucracy, and the process is where the power lies.

The 0 lower bound is when interest rates hit zero. The Fed has traditionally eased or tightened monetary policy by changing interest rates.
They now have policy frameworks to use when they can no longer ease by cutting rates lower since rates are already 0.

Maybe I worded it wrong. 0 as in the end of humanity so you can no longer rebuild. It’s a complete loss.
Even if you took a bet where 30 humans survived in probably 10-20k years they would have restarted civilization. Which is a small amount of time compared to the useful life of earth. SBF was willing to take bets of complete loss which means things can’t regrow.

I feel like this is an embedded interest rate bet. And you need to heavily discount very long term outcomes to agree with him.
A 51% chance of doubling human happiness with a 49% chance of going to zero doesn’t work because compound interest exists. His path may get us their faster but as long as civilization is moving forward we should have other bets to make in the future or just compound growth.
Any gambler who has an edge wouldn’t take the bet because going to 0 is 0, but he would rightly think he has an edge and can take those other bets too.
I don’t think I’ve seen this argument before. SBF 51%-49% bet sounds ok I get the reasoning but are instincts are it’s stupid to take a 0% possible outcome. And it’s because all our experience is that Humanity continues to grow so the 0% option is far worse.

No one mentioned this. But I am getting she made it up vibes for the rape. They just met some random dude on a train and her friend was fall over drunk. Who happened to be really sweet and carried her home. The other friend then decides to leave her friend with random dude when her friends unconscious. The University kicked the guy out because he raped her, but no mention of criminal charges.
Somehow I doubt the price of pussy is so low in college that it can’t ask a guy to wait an hour or even a day.
Overall the story felt like it was honest. But the rape story feels heavily embellished if not made up.
I think saying you want a romantic relationship has the excluded buyer issue especially with gender imbalances in Universities.
Let’s so there is the captain of the football team let’s call him Travis. And there the Rich hot girl who’s a ten let’s call her Taylor. Taylor may want a relationship. But Travis knows he can also get a dozen girls who don’t quite know they aren’t Taylor quality. So he goes that route. Which then puts Taylor wanting a relationship at her level to jump in the game too. Then add in gender imbalances. Maybe the bottom 30% of male market doesn’t hasn’t matured and doesn’t have many desirable dating traits yet.
Guys getting a choice between hanging out with the better choice or going down a rung and having a lot of fun choose to have a lot of fun. They learn to fake interest a little (but kind of think it’s just manners by providing plausible deniability). Now you have market dynamics where sluttiness is required to get attention. Of they aren’t invited to the right parties/events. Or even get chances to hang out one on one.
I guess one could say girls should form a union to eliminate the behavior. Which we did use to have. It was called religion. But society decided that was archaic.
It’s like game theory. Perhaps the best position for all girls is not to be a slut. But once a lot of girls are defecting their move becomes to defect too.
