For a message board response best I can tell is your numbers seem correct for relative proportion.
<70 IQ is a point where I think the modern world becomes completely confusing to you. Likely many could still function as laborers but where filling out a tax return would be extremely painful and things like lotto tickets are just stealing your money. A point where never having to ever think about money and instead having housing, groceries, clothing all paid for would be superior.
Based on percentages it seems as though I should see far more white homeless on the streets or doing random crime annoyances but that isn’t true. My guess is this is where averages matters and the white being bigger standard deviations from the mean matter quite a bit. Easier to hide a family IQ of 85 with the occasional 70 IQ within a family.
Violent crime rates are missing something here. 54% is the often quoted black murder rate. These proportions aren’t working out on pure IQ so something else is going on.
If we ever lived in this described world I think standardized testing would be super interesting. If someone scored a 68 on a practice test would they do crazy study hours or decide to take the easier life? Like being sub <70 means your required to put 30 hrs a week in at McDonald’s and get your housing paid for but other freedoms restricted.
Truthful feels cruel to me to send them back since they have very little connection to Africa at that point.
I’ve probably come to a position of something like a lot of IQ testing to filter and some form of institutionalization for the rest. I’ve just seen too many black homeless that would seem to be better off in a controlled environment doing light manual labor than their ability to be fully functioning adults.
I’m fine with some form of Jim Crow to deal with areas like the south side of Chicago. Semi functioning people with way too much criminality.
Constitutionally probably impossible at this point.
I’d probably be fine though with going back to the deals we had on race in the 1980’s. Small amount of affirmative action, strict policing, and nobody tries to use disparate outcomes to claim everything is about race.
It’s because the loser minority knew the truth and the black community is ungovernable. There is zero evidence any where in the world that 100% sub Saharan African descent can create first world countries. 100% African descent has failed countries, 85% african descent South Africa has failed, the south still has worse SES outcomes in those communities, the northern US has issues in those communities.
Sure there are members who can rise up like a Clarence Thomas but for every Clarence Thomas there are 30 that can’t do anything in an advanced society.
No matter what perfect policy of reconstruction we could have done nothing would have changed in the south because the populations group level average IQ is too low to function in an advanced society.
I honestly am getting annoyed with leftist who can see what looks extremely well statistically supported to me.
If a group fails in every environment it’s probably because the group has issues. If a group succeeds in a lot of environments it’s probably something about the group.
Edit: doesn’t seem like fair modding to me at all as there are multiple un-modded posts that are low effort calling for white genocide yet anything touching on black community weaknesses being the cause of southern dysfunction you are expected to write a full treatise (despite Im assuming most posters are aware of the bell curve and US criminal statistics).
He gave you a fairly good softball pitch for this posts.
I wrote a short reply and deleted when I saw you did it better but it was well set-up to just link to Scott.
2020 definitely felt close to a Revolution in America and had plenty of left wing terrorism. The Cathedral seemed to have bought into cultural Marxism at all levels. While we weren’t likely to go full economical Marxism it did seem a form of it was in full control. There were no gulags but dissent meant unemployment and deplatforming.
The only thing that seemed to have held at the time is America has different power centers. The electoral college maintains rural governing advantages both in the Senate and the Supreme Court takeover. Then Musks saved the media and opened up a platform. If America had a slightly more centralized political power it seems to me that the Marxists could have completed the conquest of the Capital (Russia for instance was always authoritarian and ran thru Moscow).
COVID was quite minor. If we had a real crisis I’m not sure if the other power basis would be able to counter.
My guess is it was Neil Strauss book that got the pick-up scene to add a more intellectual aspect online that eventually found a place in the dissident/alt-right. Then you had people who read books thinking about their ideas. RooshV started blogging in that space; chateau heartiste begins read in the pick-up community to explain why many of the tactics they used worked intellectually.
RooshV is one reason I like to combine these groups into one bucket because many of them do jump from one adjacent space to the next. He begin in the pick-up community and now has turned trad-religious. Tucker Max went trad family oriented.
Edit: one thing I would add is the pua material was a lot more ground breaking than you give it credit for. Average dudes were not taught by society to do those things. It might even be worse today.
The reason I am including Ackman as alt-right adjacent is because he’s basically a Jew whose realizing Great Replacement Theory is being applied to his group now. Jews have become white and the oppressors in the oppressed-oppressor ideology of the left.
3 of the prior 4 Harvard Presidents were Jewish. The fourth I can’t figure out but her husband is Rosenberg and that sounds Jewish to me. The current President is an obvious affirmative action hire whose a full bred black women of color (though of course not ADOS and appears her family is wealthy). Maybe I’m confusing dissident right with alt-right and just combining them but a lot of his tweeting just sounds like the stuff lower class whites have been complaining about for two decades. And I’ve seen things where Harvard is trying to lower Jewish representation at Harvard.
Yes the Charlottesville people wouldn’t have hated him since they did chant the Jews will not replace us but in the 2020’s they are finding themselves similarly situated.
It’s not just that past precedence and the current Overton window has caused it to sail, but in the modern world I do not even believe it’s possible.
Technology has made the world a smaller place. Having this big federal government that can manage all these global forces has become necessary.
What some scientist mixes up in a lab will come to hurt you on the other side of the globe. Along with all the wealth Americans got useful from global trade.
I’m trying to think of what America could be if it didn’t have a big federal government managing all these policies and my best guess is like Argentina which was largely locked out of global trade due to their currency being awful. Also poorer because modern industry scale abilities is much higher than a few million person state which they haven’t hit that scale. Poor in nominal terms but everyone does say it feels wealthier on the ground.
I thought the dissident-right was just rebranded alt-right.
The Breitbart guide quotes the Alt-right as being intellectual and specifically cites a geneticists like Razib Khan. And includes a broader less-wrong intellectual group.
But sure that is the hard thing with words in general. People can have vast different opinions of what a term means. I define alt-right is like basically any non-normy view especially when held by IQ>120 people.
If I felt like having a little fun I could define the ADL as alt-right due to their ethnostate support of Israel.
Personally, I consider myself alt-right. I consider TheMotte overall alt-right. Everything and anything can be the alt-right. The one group missing for the alt-right would be Neil Strauss - TheGame - and all the pick-up artists. The psychological insights merged with some writers and ended up on the manosphere which eventually lands you in the Proud Boy ideology.
I would consider the alt-right to be primarily the intellectual counter-arguments against the new elites ideology. So anything against modern feminism, blank-slate race views, woke, sjw, modern Marxism (ideology I would attach to blm).
I would consider the arguments Bill Ackman is making to attack Harvard and Dean Gay as fairly core alt-right arguments.
I also would agree that the left successfully labeled the alt-right as literally the KKK so it’s a dead label. But how I understood the term in 2014-2020 would have been the intellectuals of the right against modern leftists assumptions while dropping the religious arguments of the rest of the right.
The alt-right often uses evolutionary biology arguments to replicate the views of the traditional conservatives on a broad swath of ideas/policies.
I never would have associated the old school kkk types as alt-right because they were in fact old-school and old-arguments.
It depends on assumptions. And I do want to emphasize that you are seem to be using the number for people retiring early. So longer time frame. Based on historical returns 4% withdrawal rate would have your assets growing in real terms. The vanguard data you cite has a 10.3% historical equity returns, 5.3% bonds and 2.8% inflation roughly. Even 50-50 equity bonds would deliver 5% yearly real returns. Those returns are likely high going forward but Can shift some into equities.
If someone retires at 70 and you kill them off at 100 and is receiving social security checks you can model a higher withdrawal rate and they won’t run out of money.
Thats close to correct. I’ve seen 4% before but that is largely for permenent endowments like say Harvard etc. A financial advisor in his numbers might kill you off at some point.
5 maybe 6% though can fit with 2% inflation and last forever. Easier to get to when 30 year rates were 5% and then 8-9% on equities. With 30 year rates at 5% throw on some credit risks (mortgages were 8% then though that includes prepayment risks). You can make the math work for a 7% withdrawal rate for an individual. A 4% withdrawal would significantly lower risks.
I believe you go to far assuming that everyone believes Jan 6 was not justified. I don’t believe I’m the only one here who considers it a good and proper day. Jan 6 needed to happen. To me Jan 6 wasn’t even really about making Trump potus. I don’t think you realize how much anger built up in a lot of us after feeling like we had been lied to for a year on a host of issues (including mostly fiery peaceful protest) that it felt really good to see those people deal with a mostly peaceful protest.
Now an insurrection being just would still make it an insurrection (though I disagree it was that)
Maybe a dumb argument but for a Trump to do insurrection wouldn’t it have to be on Jan 7? It’s weird to be doing insurrection while you are potus and against yourself.
The US is stupidly rich by any metric. Ukraine would gladly accept being US rich.
Poland is on current trajectory expected to be richer than the UK by 2030. Sort of something a lot of Ukraine would like to be.
Who was he banging on the side? I haven’t heard anything.
Big tech profits are still up even if employee wages are less. The money is flowing somewhere.
Still sort of think the low end delivery stuff sucks. I think I prefer grocery aisle pizza over Dominos plus relatively cheap to fix them up and add flavor (garlic, jalepenos etc) to your own taste.
No one disagrees that people importing foreign wives have something wrong with them. I specifically said a retired teacher could afford a new wife. So that’s a 65 year old guy with a 60k pension getting a 24 year old. A 25 year old college grad with good work is going to want a 22-25 year old mate. But when he’s 40-50 he’s going to be thinking about getting a 22 year old immigrant wife.
Isn’t that just baumol costs disease? Highly paid professionals can afford a lot of service sector people therefore bidding up their price?
I would say there are other factors going on too but big tech rents flow into the US and has been a huge change since 2012.
Commodities also have been mostly down since 2018 which would have a disproportionate effect on Canada.
Canadá likely has higher IQ than the US which actually makes them at 72% of US income even more impressive. Though our top .5% are likely far smarter than their top .5% the overall average likely favors Canada.
It effects fiscal policy capacity too which helps all of America. I’m not saying all of Canadas decline is related to this but some of it.
You obviously couldn’t have this type of policy in a Democracy especially one with the female right to vote.
Even if on net it’s maximizes utility.
The one area this sort of works is for those people with no lack of resources. The Cali Cartel boss Rodriguez got a new wife roughly every ten years. He still hung out with his old wives. And Elon Musks pulls this off.
With the last though if America had the Star Trek make anything for free device and refused to share the tech it may be possible.
You would just reorder who hates immigrants. The female vote would shift 90% anti immigration maybe even 100%.
You could still make a hbd argument against it but my guess is males who lean red would suddenly love the policy. Even retired teachers with a 50k a year pension could move to a trailer park to have a cheap second family at 70 years old.
Her support seems to be anyone but Trump-GOP often corporate types.
Basically the Ken Griffin vote. He seems like he jumps his money around to whoever appears to have a shot of beating Trump in the primary.
I honestly don’t know much about her other than she’s a women, real name isn’t nikki, and is a Republican governor of a southern state.
If Trump goes to jail he’s not losing the primary. I would likely shift my vote to Trump in that case.
She might be the only Republican I’d vote for Trump over her. I’m not even sure why but something about her rubs me the wrong way.
