The democrats do have a very unpopular wedge issue their party could easily fracture over- trannies. There’s a faction die hard opposed to any semblance of moderation that makes life hell for any democrats who say things like, you know what, schools shouldn’t keep this from parents.

I don't have any hard numbers to give you here, but one of the strongest pieces of evidence for me personally about transness mot being an inherent part of who you are is the autism->hyper-sexualized autogynephilia pipeline. Specifically a certain field of technology that I have closely followed for about 30 years is the biggest source of evidence for this: video game emulator development. Emulator developers aren't inherently always destined to be trannies, but the more talented they are the more likely they are to be a tranny (and/or a furry and/or all sorts of paraphilias generally).
Name the lead devs of a successful emulator (i.e. high accuracy and/or amazing performance) and in 80% of cases I can find lurid details of their weird fetishes for you. Off the top of my head Byuu/Near (SNES amongst others), Endrift (GBA amongst others), and the guy who made MelonDS (can't be bothered to look him up) are all trannies. Basically everyone on the Dolphin (Gamecube/Wii emulator) team are notorious sexual deviants. One of the only devs of a successful emulator I can't find anything about is SourMesen (dev of Mesen, a great NES emulator). He seems smart enough to not get involved in personal drama on the internet at least.
And this goes beyond just emulation, the sortsof people who get hyper into low level coding/hardware/hacking stuff tend to be deviants too, emulator devs just seem to be one of the most purely distilled examples of this tendency.
My experience with these sorts of people has probably been the strongest blocker for me accepting the trans lobby's claims regarding the nature of transness, potentially even a stronger blocker than my religious beliefs. Their claims just don't match with a much more obvious connection to me: turbo-autism leading to sexual devisncy including AGP.

At its core, this is about fundamental values differences. I think trannies should be sent to gender-conformity camp and learn to embrace the way God made them. Pro-trans people think that gender is some ontological thing that can only be arrived at after deconstructing the concept. You presumably fall somewhere in the middle.
From that light, it’s not really about the state of the scientific evidence. I know there are male, female, and deformed, and you can find out which you are by dropping your pants and looking down. Trans activists know that gender is an ontological state which can only be understood by deconstruction. Neither of these beliefs can be proven by controlled experiment.

Indeed, young women being memetic and adopting bisexuality as a quirk (and a form of stolen valor to earn some more social credit points) has been long-noted—even the "charge they phone, twerk, be bisexual , eat hot chip & lie" meme is basically ancient internet history nowadays.
However, female bisexuality can be difficult to discern from female heterosexuality, as women are basically asexual relative to men, on top of female sexuality being less binary than male sexuality. In addition, a woman legitimately interested equally in men and women will almost certainly have had only relationships with men, given female passivity and lack of courage and initiative when it comes to dating.
It reminds me of a 4chan screenshot I saw, to the tune of:

Starbucks is not a business I frequent- I'm a tea drinker and also can't bring myself to pay $3 for a drink and also just don't care for big globs of sugar that have some coffee added to them, maybe with a healthy dose of artificial colors and flavors. But they are, literally, everywhere. I can't avoid seeing starbuckses. And it seems like it varies- some of them have cute young women working there being friendly to customers, some of them have trannies being curt.
I am, however, very surprised that you expected much comment from a counter employee about something political involving the company. There's a decent chance she could be disciplined for speaking about it to a customer. There's also a good chance she'd been being bothered for months about it and thought the whole thing was stupid and was sick of hearing about it.

There need to be some pretty strong material arguments made for why trans people should be barred from the bathrooms of their experienced sex that go beyond TERF'ist misandry

The term you are looking for is "trans-identified male." Trans people consider "TIM" and "TIF" to be transphobic, so it probably serves the purpose you want, though it was coined by TERFs, so maybe it doesn't.
(From a moderator point of view, I would not mod TIM or TIF, but if you start calling people trannies or ranting at length about how you think they are all disgusting perverts, you're going to run afoul of the rules, because we do allow trans people to participate here and you're expected to be civil to them too, even if you really don't want to be.)

Its all about who is given cover that makes it easy to arrest. Arresting white people for mean tweets is easy because white people don't have dedicated activists eager to assist them in order to grift the community. For all of Tommy Robinsons screeching, there hasn't been any fund raised to fight for rioters to be released from jail or sympathetic journalists flooding the media environment with intellectual brainpower devoted to expatiating their crimes. Contra that with Islamists and LGBT+ (really just trannies) who get the entire editorial staff of the Guardian and the Mirror running cover for mass islamist gang rape or demanding unlimited trans representation. Thats not to mention the endless armies of lawyers in London who plaster buses with their ads for migrant or tranny legal advisory services.
Axel was black, which makes it impossible for any overt action to be taken. Arrest him without him having done anything but watch videos and say mean things and say mean things to his father, you have a Racism and the liberal elite will use this as an example of the fundamental racism infesting the police. To fix the UK the first thing to do must be ignoring all the liberals eager to give unlimited cover for criminal minorities. How to ignore them is an exercise for the UK to decide.

I think this is the essence of it, Jesse Singal offers a plausible alternative vision for Democrats' future. Especially given the UK recently banning puberty blockers for minors, AOC removing pronouns from her twitter bio, Trump's tremendously successful 'they/them' ad and the general handwringing about the direction and electoral viability of the Democratic party, I think there is a real sense that hardline ideological transgenderism is very much "on the table" for debate and may no longer have the aura of untouchability it once did.
Unlike Matt Walsh, Jesse Singal speaks to moderate Democrats in their language with their etiquette and with solid Blue Tribe Elite bonafides. He went to Princeton, he's jewish, he lives in Brooklyn, he's written for The Atlantic, he cites scientific studies, he uses the preferred pronouns of transgender individuals and is unfailingly polite. He is threatening because he (or rather his position) could theoretically win over the Democratic party. Even if Republicans win an election and pass some hypothetical anti-trans law, in the minds of trannies at least they would still have one of the two major teams fighting for them, and it would only be so long before the Democrats eventually win one. However if the Democrats abandon them then all hope is truly lost, no major player will be on their side and childhood transgenderism risks being consigned to the dustbin of memoryholed progressive ideas like eugenics or lobotomies.

We had a brief discussion on this bizarre phenomenon of trannies seeming to be unusually hypermasculine in their interests, hobbies and modes of thinking. It is a strange thing we never really reached a conclusion on. I liked this comment from @Folamh3 on it

I have an acquaintance who came out as a trans woman a few years ago, and the irony of her situation has not escaped my attention. She claims to be a woman trapped in an "assigned male at birth" body, and yet the number of cis women I know personally who
- compose angsty math-rock
- have logged 1,000+ hours in League of Legends
- spend a great deal of time in Games Workshop
- consume so much pornography that they've actually had to confront the ethical dilemma of whether or not they should pay the "content creators" for it
are zero, zero, zero and zero, respectively. Likewise the recent micro-scene of bedroom black metal solo projects whose members identify as trans women (most famously Liturgy [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liturgy_(band)], but it seems every other band on this label meets that description exactly): does anything scream "socially awkward man with some autistic traits" more than starting a bedroom black metal solo project?
What you're describing is autistic traits, and many feminists have argued that autism is "extreme masculinity" (men tend to be high-systematising, and autistic men are almost totally systematising). I'm sure you're already aware that the correlation between autism and gender dysphoria is extremely strong and seems to be becoming stronger with every year.
I have always suspected that I am in the "at-risk for AGP" demographic, even though I've never felt it myself.
I'm a man who several people have independently suggested might be somewhere on the autistic spectrum, high-systematising, bookish, socially awkward, didn't fit in at school (as a result of which I retreated into social media and anonymous online chatrooms), love video games enough to have done a master's in game design, listened to black metal obsessively as a teenager, passively interested in anime and manga as a teenager. If I'd been born ten or even five years later, dollars to donuts I'd be calling myself Lilith right now. (At least then my enormous ass would have been more of an asset in my dating life.) By the same token, had my aforementioned acquaintance been born five or ten years earlier, I think the chances of them coming out as trans at the age they did would have been somewhere around nil. Anyone who thinks social contagion plays no role in this phenomenon must be blind.

Like take for instance the prevalence of trannies in the speedrunning community, it is hard to think of a more hypermasculine activity than speedrunning. I don't mean masculine in some spiritual sense of idealized masculinity (masculinity of war, hunting, bravery, leadership etc) but in the empirical sense of percentage of partakers in the activity. The motte is similarly hypermasculine, so it doesn't surprise me we have a few AGP types such as yourself around here. But why do you think this is? Are you generally hypermasculine in your other interests and thought patterns?

I imagine that some AI classifier, upon taking stock of my job, my hobbies and even my writing style would probably say that I am male with the an unimaginably high degree of certainty. Job in software (probably 90% male), enjoys Paradox games (probably 99% male), main hobby is a collecting hobby (probably 90% male), participates on The Motte (probably 99% male)...I imagine these things are even more heavily male coded than things that stereotypically come to mind like UFC, hunting, Joe Rogan etc.

It's possible that I'm just unlucky enough to live adjacent to the art/punk/hipster neighborhood of a major metro area. It has the most pronouns and trannies per capita in the entire midwest. I also move in geek/gamer circles, and like short haircuts.

You might not endorse homosexuality but I'm reasonably confident you and homosexuals would both agree on the basic facts of the matter: Homosexuals are people who are sexually attracted to people of the same sex. Right or wrong, good or bad, nice or nasty, nobody is arguing about what the term signifies. Nobody is claiming that a man who wants to have sex with men isn't a man who wants to have sex with men.
Transgenderism advocates and trans sceptics don't agree on the ground level. Transgenderists believe that they can stop being what they are and become what they already were if only they weren't what they already are, which they're not, and want to stop being. Trans sceptics think that's self serving circular anti-sense.
Both homosexuals and transgenderists are nonconforming in certain aspects of stereotypical gender expressions but they have radically different interpretations of what that signifies. Gays interpret it as a subjective preference ("I like x"), trannies interpret it as an inversion of objective reality ("x, which is defined as not y, is y, not x").
You might not like gays but I suspect you'd find them that bit worse if they told you their having gay sex with other gays was proof they're not gay.

Associate communism with a universally hated enemy if talking to strangers, or a specific enemy if talking to an individual with known preference profiles. This is INCREDIBLY easy since communism, especially modern communism, has parasited itself to literally everything except productive prosocial socioeconomic development models.
Bob hates gays and trannies? Point to the DSA trying to make communism fully gay and trans.
Carla hates welfare queens? Point to /r/antiwork and show how these lazy fucks just don't want to work ever.
Ahmed hates colonial exploiters? Look at expansionist communist countries and how they treat their minorities.
Suzuka hates conservative values? See how communist countries persecute gays.
Etc etc etc.
For every shit thing a commie does, it is possible to level the same accusation against a capitalist or monarchist or whathaveyou. But normies don't care about winning an argument, they care about an emotional valence right in their pain point. And there is one universal pain point commies will never be able to refute:
'Commies want to take your stuff and give it to the shithead down the street.'
Dress it up however you want, no commie wants to refute that. All this guff about 'personal property is not private property' breaks down with the slightest investigative breeze, so commies have to focus on overintellectualized utopian dreams to justify their existence.
Normies will not like communism. Even losers scrabbling at the dirt don't like communism because they ultimately want to keep bennies they ultimately scrounge up. It is only failed class aspirants who want communism, because being the guiding hand on the lever gives the illusion of power even if the machine is broken.
Not to personally attack you for this line, but every time I see this type of reasoning or worldview hypothesized I always think to my work partner who wore clothes she was 60 pounds and 30 years over to wear. People free to wear whatever they want face social sanction for visual pollution as much as for social defection, and visual pollution is often worse because it has concrete quality of life (and often hygiene) disadvantages. If what trannies wanted to wear was just normal dresses or blouses no one would give a shit, but they insist on wearing garish crap like its a deliberate exercise in hostile signalling.
I also agree about the incentive structures, and it is telling that the incentive structures for progressives brute-force the outcomes to fit the mechanism they create rather than adjusting to realities feedback. Body positivity was shoved down all our throats for 6 years, and while men are irrelevant to the Victorias Secret Fashion Show, women are the net buyers of that stuff and shoving trannies and fatties hardly brought in new customers. Women ultimately have working eyes and brains as well and they can tell that the products being pushed aren't actually going to make them happier. Whether its a function of the socialization matrix forcing bad behaviors onto society (the famous internalized misogyny) is a different issue, but women can tell that trigglypuff wasn't something they themselves wanted to be associated with, much less men.
Honestly though it could be a better society if people were socially incentivized to develop the beach body or an approximation therein. Being unashamed of your bikini bod (man or woman) is great, better if it came as a result of hard work put into achieving some level of healthiness. 8% body fat dehydrated veinpops are bad, but not worse than lard monsters rolling through the sands.
