He's pretty clearly being sarcastic about how the majority of Wikipedia spend seems to be on bloat and random political efforts.

Wikipedia could run the entity with about 10% of it's incoming cash and everything else is a bureaucracy and progressive fundraisers. Whilst they shake down users for donations like their $10 is going to be the difference between a 404 error and Wikipedia next year.

Yeah but what's the cost of training them versus firing them and hiring fresh at market rate?

Honestly I think a lot of the tragedy of this is that these women get onto the dating apps and it's usually one of two outcomes from what I've heard.

  1. Week or two of chatter with guys, maybe a first/second date which doesn't really go anywhere and eventually churning for another few months after a moderately bad experience or since work picks up. Rinse and repeat twice a year from 25-35.

  2. Get absolutely played by somebody they don't have enough knowledge to know who's too good to be true and either abandon the apps or pivot into the most promiscuous decile for vague meandering reasons of revenge.

Out-and-out homophobia/sexually-motivated violence tends to not get too much coverage in specific incidents since it's perpetrated by certain cultures that are otherwise lionized by progressive actions. 'There were 50 Trans murders this year' looks shocking and something to be addressed, whilst '95% of those were ladyboy prostitutes running afoul of pimps and gay-panic Johns' is something that'll keep individual incidents off the headlines

Also people being overly dismissive of the dogphobic. I grew up with dogs and like dogs, but I've been to countries where the norm is sketchy unwashed street dogs and thus understand why somebody from one of those regions might not like to see random dogs popping into their personal space.

Yes but her opponent has been competing against women for years with good-but-not-great results and an 11% KO rate. There's ample proof she's not some insane worldbeating physical force.

But yeah, I can see the traits, even though most of my family aren't diagnosed. Diagnosing mental illness is more of a recent thing, at least where I'm from (which I'm not telling).

Yeah same for me. Generations of Engineers and other such types, very easy to diagnose my dad, uncles and grandfather with it on vibes alone but I was the first generation to receive any sort of a formal diagnosis. Just used to be socially diagnosed as 'being a bit of a nerd'

Having lived in Darwin for a while, there was an essentially never-ending loop of 'Nice new accommodation is built for local indigenous, indigenous move in, Indigenous culture around extreme sharing within groups and territorial violence between groups leads to nice new accomodation becoming teeming slum, nice new accomodation is built'

They way I see it - if you were a jewish person with SJW opinions you don't have a right to complain about the lack of lube on the dildo of consequences that the people you supported and allied yourself with are inserting right now in your asshole.

This is essentially how I feel.

I'd rather have Israel than an Arabic region, since I think the latter wouldn't really be especially productive, whilst the former's been able to provide a bastion of a culture that's somewhat similar to mine and be economically productive. I also feel that the ADL has provided a lot of the blueprint for the modern anticolonial woke movement, and that it is very funny that suddenly the Zionist diaspora is getting hoisted by the petard that they've been condemning the rest of the West for.

Personally in this era of fentanyl and other absurdities I'd much rather live in a society with zero tolerance for drugs (and thereby mitigate junkie random encounters substantially) than take on the externalities of recreational drug use. I'm living in an affluent Western society presently, and the vast majority of my perceived threat from my fellow citizens is from drug users.

Joe Biden is nominee unless he resigns or gets hit medically. There's no mechanism for removing him. I agree he would not get the nomination if it was a fresh contest, but he has essentially already won it. I'm quite large on Biden at the equivalent of 30c for nom and 10c for presidency for full disclosure, but the window for replacement has largely passed.

Yeah. The real and constant threat of firearms in US Policing means the dynamic is fundamentally different to most other nations.

There's a difference between adapting an ancient story to better suit your immediate geographic & cultural mores and constructing a beat-for-beat remake of something that's like 30 years old where the only difference is that the cast is made up of the right suite of POC.

It's also a matter of tone. A lot of modern race-swapping feels more deliberately combative to the source material.

True, but it doesn't really tap their welfare system and there's no longterm path to citizenship.

If the prevailing Western Democracies operated under similar principles of 'we will pay you well for your service but you cannot bring your sprawling extended family along and plonk them on pensions/medicare/welfare' the whole system would work better.

I genuinely think that Khelif's opponent here worked herself into a bit of hysteria since there's ample proof that Khelif isn't some world-ending super hitter with her 11% KO rate in amateurs.

My wife's originally from a part of Malaysia just outside of Kuala Lumpur (and plugging into her upper middle class Chinese family network makes the financial/cultural shift way more manageable than if I was proverbially fresh off the plane). Having spent a decent amount of time throughout SEA & other digital nomad hubs (Vietnam, Bali, Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore etc), I think Malaysia's prettymuch the perfect mid-point in terms of expenses, development and cultural vibes. Main issue I could see with Malaysia, ignoring the local economy, is the lack of a night life, which isn't really an issue for me with a young family.

My wife and I are both fortunate to have fairly niche skillsets/equity in remote-friendly companies that let us continue to earn international Western rates with reasonably strong job security, but interacting with my wife's younger siblings I can see the difficulties of being a fresh 20-something in Malaysia, especially if you are not Malay. Entry-level/customer service jobs in Selangor pay like 700-1k USD a month. My wife got out through a generous international scholarship which led her into her current role through a fairly circuitous path.

And I think it's easier to remember the lockdown enthusiasts as overreaching than it is the relatively laissez-faire Trump/Republican approach, regardless of whichever was nominally better at addressing whether the local Octogenerians were sent to early graves slightly or moderately faster than usual. Biden's tribe backed a lot of disruptions to average living that seem like an utterly insane void in hindsight, whilst regardless of how much emphasis you put onto Omicron and the Vaccines for the nullification of COVID the red tribe's stance that it was largely nothingburger seems to have born out.

it doesn't offer you solutions to your problems

'Get jacked, get confident, get bitches' is more of a solution than anything being offered from the other side of the fence, though.

Is it One Size Fits All? No!

But atleast it's a suggestion compared to either 'Be Yourself' in a dating scene that is beyond warped or 'Long screed about how bad and evil men from before your time acted poorly etc etc etc'

True. I found my dating mostly trended Asian but in my experience trying to filter by non-obese, non-singlemom, non-tattooed, educated and white-collar job having meant that I was left with 90% Asian girls.

I've got a baby and a longterm relationship with one and live with another. Both born in Asia and came across for University. I think you're tarring a bit too broadly, my partner's a lot more adventurous than her sister both romantically and career-wise, but having watched a few KDrama I do agree that it's a deranged way of forming romantic expectations. I do think this has been compounded by the online dating meta, since I've observed a ton of 'an interaction went slightly subpar, GOODBYE FOREVER' from talking to female friends.

Also having been 4-5 dates in with a few other East Asian girls where the pace of engagement was glacial during my time on the apps. Which made up the majority of my 'this 26 year old girl has essentially zero idea how to play the game' experiences.

I've got a partner and a child now, actually doing pretty well!

But I do agree that 80 was excessive but this was me essentially starting from a 2/10 in attractiveness and going on a date who'd anybody who'd take me in order to develop social skills, my self-confidence and generally explore options.

I kind of agree with their points, but I feel the overton window is sufficiently skewed towards the Left (along with the Left not really being able to understand the sheer breadth of the political spectrum) that these discussions are being had by like 95th percentile Left people and 40th percentile Right People in the grand scheme of things.

Also to be frank I'd expect interspousal transfers to skew male -> female in terms of who created the funds. For every Mackenzie Scott there's hardly a counterbalancing force of... I don't know, Travis Kelce deciding to donate future Taylor Swift's money to the NRA.

I think games have just scaled as a project to the point that there's too many cooks in the kitchen. Also credentialism likely trends more formulaic compared to when even majorish projects would prettymuch be 'somebody's cousin + moderate drug use = Elder Scrolls mythos'

He did seem to have better days during the campaign. Obviously a question if that was an 'average day' and the better days were the 99th percentile ones, but also a presidential debate probably not the best place for a person in his situaation.
