It was also a 0HPL thread, it was slightly different, and I remember it and not this article linked somewhere in these parts.

Being a "True Opponent" of either Putin (and establishment in Russia) or Obama (and establishment in US) does not have the same result. So by "True Opponent", what do you mean exactly?

This is the origin of the term "brainwashing" in English, being a direct translation of a Chinese phrase coined by Maoists during the civil wars to describe their ideological conversion tactics.

So what are, practically, the mechanisms that can be used to (legally) remove a judge that had publicly declared intent to betray the constitution?

Like what if the South just suddenly decided "13a doesn't exist in this here courtroom" and boldly ignored the Supreme Court?

Does the Marshall of the Supreme Court get to arrest people for contempt? Does the federation magically go poof? Does the ghost of General Sherman start haunting anybody? Do the slave auctions go on unmolested?

I'll echo @ArjinFerman and say she sounds fake as fuck. Fake in a human way, though. It's like listening to Yes Man or (presumably) a highly paid escort who has to provide a GFE and can't call you out even when you're clearly messing with her.

I think it makes sense, if we want to avoid report abuse, that people should be willing to stand behind their reports (at least to the mods, I doubt posting everyone's reports on a public bulletin would be productive). I'm not sure what benefit full anonymity would have, since there's not really a mechanism for punishing "whistleblowers" or dissenters beyond, I guess, mods secretly banning people for reporting the "wrong" kind of posts. But the ban process here is already extremely transparent, so that doesn't seem like a big concern to me. I can't think of any reason why I would care whether the mods can see who/what I'm reporting.

I absolutely despise "if you have nothing to hide, what are you worried about" arguments, though, so I'm more than happy to be convinced otherwise.

So what are, practically, the mechanisms that can be used to (legally) remove a judge that had publicly declared intent to betray the constitution.

None. The only theoretical option is impeachment, but those who would impeach and convict in New York are also anti-Second-Amendment.

The first link when I googled "defiant disorder by race": https://neurodivergentinsights.com/adhd-infographics/adhd-odd-and-racial-bias

Did you know that [oppositional defiant disorder] is disproportionately diagnosed in Black, Latino, and Hispanic children? Studies show that racial and ethnic diagnostic disparities in disruptive behavioral disorders are well-documented, particularly among urban, low-income Black American and Latino youth

Of course, I haven't provided proof that this disparity is genetic. But I'm so far along in my HBD journey that I just don't find these sorts of "Ah, but what if [alternative explanation]!" type of arguments very interesting anymore. You caught me: I don't have some convenient within-sibling GWAS where they pinpoint the precise genetic markers that corresponds to "the ability to follow instructions". But considering that, whenever we've bothered to check, behavioral differences that aren't obviously cultural (e.g language spoken) always have some genetic component, I've stopped reflexively hedging when talking about these sorts of things.

Don't have the time, so I'll delete the comment.

I recently played Wolfenstein: The New Order, which was pretty good, and found that my favourite parts of the game were the stealth segments in which you're sneaking around popping off soldiers from a distance with a silenced pistol. Sadly The New Order doesn't commit to the bit: the stealth segments are optional, and there are plenty of missions in which you're forced to go in guns blazing.

I'd love to play a game which was essentially just the stealth segments from The New Order for the entire runtime. What I'm looking for is games with the following criteria:

  • Played from a first-person perspective
  • Has a combat system (ergo excluding games in which the player character is defenseless e.g. Amnesia, the xenomorph sequences from Alien Isolation)
  • Combat system is based on guns - no unarmed or melee combat (except maybe takedowns/stealth kills)
  • Player is forced to be stealthy throughout - stealth is not optional (ergo excluding immersive sims in which you have the option of combat, stealth or diplomacy)
  • Player character is vulnerable and can take on no more than one or two enemies before becoming overwhelmed

There are full matchmaking services. Pay for one of those instead of having someone run a dating app for you.

My favorite was Hawaii, where they said "That doesn't vibe with our 'Aloha spirit' so we're going to ignore it." So, why are federal gun laws enforced in gun-friendly states?

Banned on request, he did not say he plans on coming back. My impression was that this was permanent and from a building discontent with the community. The main point of frustration was with people dropping bullshit or unsubstantiated claims. And then those claims mostly going willfully uncorrected.

Give a shot to Far Cry 3. Substracting all the Ubisoft open world nonsense, the core of the gameplay is infiltrating and clearing enemy strongholds. It's largely impossible to do so guns blazing, so you have to thin the guard numbers through stealth: luring patrols off to kill, creating distractions with animal attacks, etc.

Everything else about the game is infuriating, but those parts are very good.

That's a bit of a loss for us.

I didn't care about his topics, but I liked his thoroughness.

What you're describing is the trial sequence from Chrono Trigger. We used to have these things in games, back when they were still made by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, and not by massive megacorporations beholden to suits and shareholders for maximum profit. Sigh.

But yes I agree completely.

You can easily build a Cyberpunk character to those specs. There are other options, but if you're willing to restrain yourself via a little bit of RP, it's easy enough to wind up with a character whose core competency is almost entirely quiet assassination.

You might enjoy Dishonored. The game doesn't force you to be stealthy, but it is possible to play both games in the shadows. The combat is not entirely gun play. Instead, it has a mix of melee, firearms, and magic. The story is excellent.

The live-translation feature is exciting.

I don't think people really want this, I think you'd see most loss averse people (aka most people) doing what they can to rewind or close the game out if this were to happen in order to avoid taking the hit.

I prefer my racial esoterica to revolve around Atlantis and the tower of babbel, but that was legitimately interesting

Blacks are on average shorter and less muscular than whites, but unusually big blacks are way overrepresented in football because 1) they hit puberty earlier, so they are legitimately bigger around the time when football starts separating into the actually-good-or-not tracks, and 2) their parents are more tolerant of them receiving injuries or compromising their educations to pursue athletics.

giving puppy-dog eyes and saying this is just a paperwork crime and no one was hurt won't buy you a cup of coffee before you get absolutely reamed in all the least fun ways

Not to be melodramatic, but I am once again reminded of Solzhenitsyn:

If you are arrested, can anything else remain unshattered by this cataclysm?

But the darkened mind is incapable of embracing these dis placements in our universe, and both· the most sophisticated and the veriest simpleton among us, drawing on all life's experience, can gasp out only: "Me? What for?"

And this is a question which, though repeated millions and millions of times before, has yet to receive an answer.

Arrest is an instantaneous, shattering thrust, expulsion, somer sault from one state into another.

We have been happily borne-or perhaps have unhappily dragged our weary way-down the long and crooked streets of our lives, past all kinds of walls and fences made of rotting wood, rammed earth, brick, concrete, iron railings. We have never given a'thought to what lies behind them. We have never tried to pene trate them with our vision or our understanding. But there is where the Gulag country begins, right next to us, two yards away from us. In addition, we have failed to notice an enormous num ber of closely fitted, well-disguised doors and gates in these fences. All those gates were prepared for us, every last one! And all of a sudden the fateful gate swings quickly open, and four white male hands, unaccustomed to physical labor but none theless strong and tenacious, grab us by the leg, arm, collar, cap, ear, and drag us in like a sack, and the gate behind us, the gate to our past life, is slammed shut once and for all.

That's all there is to it! You are arrested!

And you'll find nothing better to respond with than a lamblike bleat: "Me? What for?"

That's what arrest is: it's a blinding flash and a blow which shifts the present instantly into the past and the impossible into omnipotent actuality. That's all. And neither for the first hour nor for the first day will you be able to grasp anything else.

Except that in your desperation the fake circus moon will blink at you: "It's a mistake! They'll set things right!"

When you're hauled in front of "Judge" Darkeh who articulates her spitting contempt for the American Constitution, the rational expectation would be that you're about to receive justice in a pretty similar fashion to what those victims of the Soviets received, but few of us ever learn that lesson, instead clinging to the hope that eventually there will be someone that sets things right.

Dog breeds are a bad genetic comparison for anything because so many of the genetic differences are driven by single genes, as opposed to a gene package like how heighth and IQ work.
