What you're saying here doesn't make much sense. The blue-haired kids just happened to ignorantly stumble into an assembly hosted on campus, after classes are over, watch their friends get demolished, and then step up to the mic and do the same thing?
The reality is that these were fervent believers, ready to be angry and combative, who probably did plenty of research beforehand. The clips that made it to TikTok were probably the lower performers, but they were performers nonetheless. Characterizing these discussions as an intellectual giant beating up on stupid children isn't accurate.

It may not have been an overwhelming majority, but the percentage of Democrats who believe assassinations are justified is insanely high.

I vastly prefer having closets. Shelves and Wardrobes "penetrate" into your living space in a uniquely explicit way. As the walls around the room go from predictable edges to a jagged collection of furniture, the percieved space is eliminated not just by the footprint of each item but also the area around it.
People own many ugly things that deserve to be hidden. My camping gear shouldn't be exhibited in my room or even really on a shelf. The closet is the best space for these things.

I think this is insightful. A la lab grown meat - there's always going to be a set of people that pay a massive premium for "the real thing".
And yet still, physical prostitution/sugar babying and stripping seem so worth it compared to dropping a couple hundred per month on digital slop. Yes, there are societal norms at play that artificially reduce the price, but it's also fascinating that the male sex drive values quantity so much over quality.

I find 480p porn to be unwatchable, and really only tolerate 720p if it's something special.
Sure, people are doing "new stuff" but camera technology and bandwidth capabilities alone have led to a pretty good treadmill. I haven't tried VR porn but a friend that has gave it rave reviews, so that's another full cycle there.
Personally, I think I'm going to limit my use of my Oculus to BeatSaber, I just can't picture myself wearing a heavy headset with an exposed dong. It's too dystopian.

Another takeaway: US is ~60% of OF spending, when we're generally 30% of global spending power. So one of the right's memes, namely that a bunch of Indians and Africans are driving sexual degeneracy, doesn't apply here at least. It's driven by Americans.
I can't believe Sophie Rain pulled down $80m. She's hot, but (IMO) only a 9/10, and a bunch of lame softcore cannot possibly be worth that for any number of people.
I consume porn, unfortunately, and so the whales on OF with multiple subscriptions blow my mind. How can these people consume so much? And why are they paying for it? For people with mental disabilities who can "believe" these sorts of parasocial relationships, I can understand. But for anyone with a normal level of EQ and general cognition, it just doesn't compute to me.

I'll mention that the people I know who raise chickens often complain about the challenges and costs. I wouldn't do it.
For decoration/wallpaper, one thing my parents did was cut out Calvin and Hobbes strips and use them as wallpaper. It was awesome. So: Be creative about what "wallpaper" means.
Building secret compartments in the house of a sort could be cool. Vaults in the drywall, for instance?
I love the concept of building forts etc. as well, huge part of my childhood.

Bro come on. At some point a parent has to take responsibility here. Why would anyone let their kids just hop onto these websites without doing basic due diligence or educating them on the reality of predators?
If a platform provides robust parental controls then they've done enough, full stop. The baton of responsibility is passed.
I think the numbers have always been gamed. CPI and inflation in particular. It's hilarious that the US talks so much shit about the lack of transparency in China when it's a half step better here at best.
There are independent analysts who do a decent job of telling a more realistic story. Someone has value for reality - consider the Harris campaign's internal polling algorithms who knew she'd lost weeks in advance. Mainstream polls have been just worthless propaganda for more than a decade but the real thing is somewhere.
It's frustrating though. Knowing we have the technical ability to tell the truth, but choose not to. Having to expend the extra effort to find where it's hidden or synthesize it against the dishonesty in the official system.

I realized I didn't see your first paragraph. If you are interested in bikepacking I highly recommend taking the plunge on a 3-night route or something. It is still very hard - I would train at least a month or two beforehand - but a route that's rated a 5 or so on that site is doable with grit. Finding even a single friend to join you will make it a lot more fun.
Anything in particular blocking you or giving you second thoughts?
