Reading the motte could certainly be damaging to some minors. I wonder how many people would participate if they had to send a picture of their driving license to the mods first.
I wouldn't mind, I'd just be looking at my own driving license.
Hmm.. I wonder if there's room for "creative" thinking here. Every new member is automatically promoted to mod status temporarily, verifies their own ID, and then resigns with dignity before becoming a normal participant.

No, it's actually just correct. Being a citizen of the US is a reward for anyone not entitled to it by blood. We're the best. Everyone knows it.
I have family members who lived in the United States for over a decade, on permanent visas. They went there for work, and undoubtedly contributed to American prosperity. Their presence was completely legal.
Eventually they were offered pathways to American citizenship.
They refused, because they didn't want to be American citizens. They wanted to leave and come back home to Australia, which they eventually did. They sometimes still visit the US for business reasons, but only for short stays. They tell me quite frankly that they prefer living in Australia and view Australian citizenship as preferable to American.
Are they wrong?

Like you say though, the dose makes the poison, and there's always a risk. I had a bit of a similar experience with pot to your experience with mushrooms. For a long time I followed the advice of the doctors - I'd always refuse it when offered because of its well recognised effects on people like me. But about a decade ago my depression felt overwhelming and that was around the time psychedelics were showing promising results (ecstacy was also being trialled at the time in Australia, I wonder why it didn't take off like psilocybin?) so I wanted to try mushrooms or LSD, but I didn't know anyone who had access and couldn't get into a trial due to my condition. So in a desperate move to just feel something different, I tried pot.
It has basically fixed me. Ok it was probably the CBD and that's hyperbole, I still have the paranoia and the over inclusive reasoning and holistic bias, but I regret not trying it sooner with all my heart. I have stability, a community I love and who has my back, and I no longer need anti-anxiety, anti-depressant or anti-psychotic medication. But I was never taking massive doses - even when I wanted to get high I'm too paranoid to tolerate the cognitive impact.
Also I don't blame the doctors or anything - they were doing the best they could with the information available to them, and people are unique. But like prima said, it's under-researched. In fact to counter balance what I just said, my brother (who is mentally healthy) also avoided pot for the same reason, but accidentally ate an edible while visiting our uncle and came close to disassociating completely and reckons it took him half a year to get over it. And I've met plenty of schizophrenics who were triggered by pot. It's not a gamble I'd suggest others take.

PP seems to show up in lots of anecdotes about cross-sex hormone prescriptions, especially for trans minors with relatively few questions asked. As far as I can tell (see SCOTUS thread) those are rather controversial. But I can't say what fraction of their business that is.

Forget the Duolingo. It looks like most of the "teaching" this school does is plopping the kids in front of computer education modules that give them feedback on the problems. One wonders why they need "guides" who make 100k a year to not teach them. Presumably the effect of a good teacher is proportional to the amount of teaching they actually do.

Okay? So ban porn advertising on any site that targets children. I'm pretty sure that law isn't even necessary because websites have a lot more control over their ads than stores have over their neighborhood.
If a city council sorted their areas by crime rate and excluded adult bookstores from the bottom X%, then I'm pretty sure the (prospective) store owners would have a good case the restrictions are illegal. If the city pulled all its cops and banned private security from them, it would be a slam-dunk case.

While I'm glad that weed helped you, I have good reason to believe that that's a rather unexpected/idiosyncratic response.
For most people with depression, I'd go as far as to say it's highly inadvisable:
Meta-analysis showed a higher risk of depression among cannabis users (OR: 1.29, 95% CI: 1.13–1.46).
This isn't entirely causal, as there's some evidence that people with a predisposition towards depression are more likely to try weed in the first place. Yet I think the evidence is there, and in particular, there's little evidence of it helping reduce depression.

What I've heard on the grape-vine is that there are quite a few trials ongoing. I googled it, and they've got some big names involved.
A number of trials have concluded, with, as far as I can tell by eye-balling them quickly promising results.
Unfortunately, adoption just takes time. Not all psychiatrists are as open to the idea of psychedelics as I am. While not a psychedelic, ketamine was only relatively recently approved in the UK for depression, and it's a pain to acquire in the NHS.
Not to mention the lack of a profit motive. Most of them are unpatentable, hence pharma companies aren't really raring to go to produce them.
And I've met plenty of schizophrenics who were triggered by pot. It's not a gamble I'd suggest others take
I've looked at the figures, and that's very rare! Remember, you're looking at schizophrenics who you have reason to believe were triggered by pot. What we ought to be considering are people without known schizophrenia, what are the risks they develop it after trying pot?
That figure is very low. Probably in the sub 0.1% or lower range.
Even within schizophrenics, a study in Denmark found that only ~ 6-8% of schizophrenia cases were induced by weed.
There's also a strong dose dependence here, I would expect that even vulnerable people wouldn't be too affected by a small amount of weed. Unfortunately, potencies have only increased over time.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but I'm not a big fan of weed because it can be habit forming, blunts cognition and just makes you lazy-ass drug if you take it regularly.

It just means they had to work twice as hard to adapt to ALPHA’s rigid model.
This article brings up a lot of valid concerns, but I saw firsthand how much more deeply these issues impacted kids from our background, especially around the concept of "motivation." and their buggy tech.
N=3 and all, but that isn't promising for their method scaling any time soon.

How would sealing prevent putting the wrong items in the bag in the first place?

Anyone who wants to actually get off will go to real porn, or hentai, or impossible AI girls. I think it would actually make girls more pressured too, they don't want to be an uncool, frigid, lame bitch like that girl in Safe and Respectful Physical Connection Part 4, do they?
A better solution would be punitively obliterating Pornhub and co with massive fines and lawsuits so they stop profiting off people trafficking and child rape.

Money is fungible. Things like rent, electricity, staffing, etc are all shared. They cannot be separated. You can't provide money to PP without funding abortion. If you wanted to, you could spin off the abortion wing, call it Banned Parenthood, make sure there is no staffing overlap, and charge them market rates for rent and facilities, maybe you'd have a decent argument.

In the sense that its basically impossible to do more abortions than write prescriptions for birth control and penicillin, I guess this is true. But PP's own behavior in which clinics it has closed over time indicates that they don't particularly care about providing those services, or that the clinics cannot justify their own existence without providing the profitable abortions for which those services are merely a smokescreen.

The interpretation that you can provide money to an abortion provider without that being considered funding abortions. This is controversial because every intelligent person knows money is fungible, and if medicaid gives PP $10000 for providing strep throat screenings, that money helps keep the abortion mill facility open.

If you read The Idea Factory with a somewhat critical eye you can easily see why Bell labs isn't happening now, and can't happen in the near future. Sure, some of their best guys went to MIT, but that was when you got into MIT by like taking a train there then passing an entrance exam. None of this extra-curricular and AP maxxing nonsense. But many of the main figures also just were like paperboys who were the small town genius and went to a random engineering school nearby. At some point, however, determining actual merit, talent, and skill became unfashionable for academics and hiring managers so they outsourced to boring metrics and racial adjustments.
My wife is a psychiatrist at a public hospital that deals with some of Chicago's sickest and poorest mental cases. I get a pretty good cross section of the stories. It's just not really the case that the kind of politics she's dealing with from her patients are mondain red vs blue tribe stuff. The craziest red tribe anti-vax position you can imagine would not phase her and would sound strange in its groundedness compared to the actual involuntary cases she deals with, which are almost always about refusal to take medication that stops them from like painting the walls with their feces. Psychiatrists are certainly like 400% more lgbt than the general population but they just aren't taking the politics of their patients seriously enough for discrimination to really be a thing, they're fighting tooth and nail just to get the feces smeerers to take their meds.
Yeah same with alcohol bro. How many people die from drunk driving every year?
